Excellent location ”

Kinabalu Daya Hotel is situated pretty close to everything. For food, the place is surrounded by plenty of restaurants of different variety ranging from Italian, Western/European, Chinese, Indian and tradition food. They are many shops nearby as well as Malls that are just 5 minutes away. It is 10 to 15 minutes walk to the Jesselton Jetty to go the islands, and few minutes away from a cheap laundry shop. It is a great location. Definitely a place to stay for business trip, couples, family with children and solo. Take note that first three floors are smoking zone so if you're not into smoking and/or with kids, request for the non-smoking zone: 3rd floor and above.

My Favorite Go-To Hotel in KK”

I have stayed in some other hotels before but ever since my first time at Kinabalu Daya, it has always been my favorite go-to-stay every time I’m in KK. It’s affordable, clean, all staff greets you warmly, superb location - walking distance to many eateries, malls, attractions and the famous Gaya Sunday Street Market. The only cons I could find are there’s no gym (hehe cardio junkie) and parking can be quite hard. If you drive, don’t forget to put parking coupons on your dashboard. The MPKK are very very active here. I would recommend this hotel to single, couple or business travelers. Not suitable for family with small kids.

Surprisingly nice hotel compared to its price”

this hotel is much better than another hotel i stayed with almost the same price. the hotel is conveniently located near some shopping malls ,travel agencies, convenient stores and some overnight food stores are right round the corner. this is a location even better than those at 'city centre' around the night market because the area of best western is cleaner and with a very mordern shopping mall, suria sabah, with a cinema (3d movies available), and the travel agencies are very important to inexperienced travellers. the night market and alike are in fact within 15 min walk when you want to take a look. the staff are nice and helpful. the breakfast served is better than i expect for such a price. the wi-fi in the room does not always work, but the convenience of staying inside the room is something not every hotel in kota kinabalu can offer. the city view from the window is refreshing as well.

Kinabalu Daya Hotel is located in a very central postion walking distance to attractions, waterfront, nightmarkets and many restaurants. The staff are very helpful with suggestions for tours if needed, very cheap internet in the foyer check in was quick and efficient, breakfast was the norm buffet with a variety of asian and western dishes.Overall a great pick.

It is a pleasant stay at Best Western Kinabalu daya hotel. The hotel staff is helpful and hotel room is clean. located at very center of the city. easy to recognised and find. Taxi driver also know about the hotel. shopping is just around the corner and jetty to the island beach is also nearby

Good budget hotel in heart of city”

This hotel is located in the heart of Kota Kinabalu, across the street from the shopping center Wisma Merdeka and within walking distance of Jesselton Point, from where you can catch boats to offshore islands as well as further off Pulau Labuan, a 90 minute or so ride from Brunei. It is also within walking distance of a waterfront night market where you can sample a variety of local fare. My room was supposed to be standard with no window, but I did have a window in my room (perhaps I was upgraded?), The room was small but clean, up to the usual Best Western standards. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was quite good for an economy hotel, with a variety of Western and Malaysian items offered, including fresh omelet and waffle stations. All in all, it was a pleasant experience, but if room size is important to you, you may want to consider the deluxe room.

Best Western Kinabalu Daya Hotel”

I would strongly reccomend Best Western Kinabalu Daya Hotel to any one who visits Mayalasia. The location of the hotel was in a excellent location. It was alnmost right in the middle of the main street with a mall directly across the street. I mean you could take left or a right from the front doors and you are immedatly right in the mix. The bar and resturant at the hotel were really good too. Just in case you didn't want to leave the building. Also they had a almost all day happy hour.

Best Western Kinabalu Daya Hotel is in excellent proximity to almost all malls and tourist destination. The hotel is right in the middle of premiere shopping and restaurant establishments in the city. Taxis are available right at the door step. Staff serves us with a smile and warm. Room is clean and well-kept everyday. One major downside of the hotel is the foodservice. Our booking comes with free breakfast. But unlike in other Best Western Hotels, Kinabalu Daya Hotel's food was disappointing. The menu for our three days are essentially the same. So I opted for bread and butter and baked beens. I have noticed as well the lack of sanitation and foodservice skills of the staff.

Home from home when in Kota Kinabalu”

I always use the Best Western Kinabalu Daya Hotel when I visit Kota Kinabalu as the great location, friendly staff, and competitive pricing are all attractive. The hotel is mid-range and the rooms may be small but the above features and the homely atmosphere will have me return on each visit. In fact, there is a bit of tradition in my cohort of biologists of staying at the Daya - we all know what to expect and are comfortable with it.

i keep coming back to this hotel. the wifi can be patchy but the staff are always lovely and remember me when I return. Kota Kinabalu can be a strange city some times, it's great to have a place like Kinabalu Daya Hotel to return to at night.

Good stay and strategic location”

We had a wonderful stay here. The staffs are friendly and polite in their service. The room was clean and comfortable. Moreover, it is a strategic location. There are plenty of restaurants within the walking distance. With 5 mins car ride, there are Kota Kinabalu Central Market and Filipino Market. Plus, every Sunday, there will be Gaya Market where you could find handmake craft, local foods and fruits etc. Definitely will be back to this hotel again.

highly recommended. nice location right in the middle of the city. accommodating hotel crew. we checked in a standard room with window..with city view. room is a bit small just right for 2-3 persons. clean room and prompt house keeping service. i will definitely go back to Kinabalu Daya Hotel if ever i travel again to Kota Kinabalu.

Great location, friendly and attentive staff”

I was there when is Malaysia public holidays, there are quite a number of patrons checking in at a same time however there were only two staffs on duty so i waited for a while to check-in. They served towels for check-in patrons in the lobby which enable us to feel revive. Although I am depressing with the small room, it was offset with the great location of Best Western Kinabalu Daya Hotel. The Sunday market, Philippino Market, Suria Sabah shopping mall and Jesselton Jetty are just within walking distance and easy to reach. The breakfast provides by hotel had very less varieties but the staffs were very friendly and attentive. I would recommend visitors to give themselves a chance to try local food. I am able to store my luggage after i check out from the hotel and before i depart to airport. Overall i had a pleasant stay in Best Western Kinabalu Daya Hotel.

Fantastc Budget Hotel in the Heart of KK”

After my climb of Mt Kinabalu elected to stay in this great Hotel again. Again great rates and free internet and breakfast plus great location made the choice easy. The staff were very efficient and friendly they had stored a bag for me with no charge while I did the mountain climb. The rooms were clean and quiet and beds comfortable. This hotel is right in the downtown area and only a 5 minute walk from the waterfront and nice bars and restaurants. Kota Kinabalu is a fantastic place to visit so what are you waiting for?

The hotel is located in the center of Kota Kinabalu and from its location many places are located within a walking distance including the Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal which is a 10 min leisurely walk away. The room was spacious enough for both of us and very clean. The bed was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast is buffet style which tends to be standard but it was very tasty and have many choices of foods. We had and overall pleasant stay and we would recommend this hotel for any type of traveler.

my stays in best western kinabalu daya hotel had been up to expectations overall. the cost of stay was low and basic hotel amenties were available for a short overnight stay. the environment was generally clean and no foul smell. reception was friendly and helpful. wifi access was smooth and easy to setup with good coverage in room. however, the television channels were very basic and reception on antenna was not very clear. but that's not a big problem if the purpose of stay was for less than 24 hours stay for a low budget.

I keep on returning this hotel every time I'm in Kota Kinabalu. The rooms are clean, spacious, quiet and count with a very comfortable bed. The staff is very helpful and attentive. The breakfast buffet is always tasty. The hotel is located close to anything you might want and need in addition to being at a walking distance to many important points throughout the city. enjoy myself for a 2 nights stay in this hotel. this is my second time visiting kota kinabalu with my buddies. the price of the hotel is reasonable. we didn't spend much on transport because we tried to adapt ourselves window-shopping even walking along the road-side. after all, great location of this hotel!
