Pristine hotel with flawless service”

Our stay at the Oriental Residence was perfect, the staff were efficient and extremely friendly, especially to my 3 year old son Oscar whom they made feel very welcome, including giving him a teddy bear on arrival which was a nice touch. The rooms were huge, we stayed in a 1 bedroom suite which was like having our own gorgeous apartment in Bangkok, all the decor was very tasteful, a very clean and fresh feel, it made you never want to leave! The pool and gym area were also superb, we used them every day, it was so relaxing to swim and watch the sunset over Bangkok after a busy day in the city. The location was great, a short walk to the sky train station, the hotel also offered a shuttle service which was very handy for me with my young son. There were great food markets across the street where you could buy an array of traditional local foods, we did this quite often for breakfast and lunch and simply heated it up using the kitchenette in our room, which was such a great feature. The food in the hotel was also great, we ordered room service a couple of times which was excellent. Overall I cannot fault our experience at the Oriental Residence, it made our stay in Bangkok perfect, I'll definitely be back!

Exceed My Expectation”

Just back from my 5-day trip in Bangkok. My stay in Oriental Residence Bangkok(ORB) is the best part of the trip. Due to some booking mistake with my Ma-Sa-Man cooking school reservation, I have to check-in ORB early in 10:00AM, and the hotel reception desk immediately accept my request. When the hotel manager knew I’m a Thai cooking lover, he offered me a personalized Thai cooking class using the lovely kitchen facilities in my room. I was totally delighted with all the class arrangement. Chef Boy is a wonderful teacher. He gave me very clear instructions during whole process and also allowed me to practice by my self. Based on the shopping list of Thai seasoning Chef Boy suggested, I brought some essential ingredients home to cook and share the foods with my family. The interior design of the room is full of Barbara Barry’s easy elegance and quiet luxury style. My room has a beautiful view, facing the garden of the American and Dutch embassies. The swimming pool is quiet and relaxing. The staffs are always friendly and attentive. Shuttle service is provided to the nearby Sky Train stations – Ploenchit or Chidlom (10~15 min. walk).

Immaculate new hotel with sumptuous suites by BTS”

The Oriental Residence just had its soft opening in January, but by the level of service, you think they're old pros. Everyone from room service to housekeeping speaks blindingly good English, and the staff never fails to greet you warmly as you cross the lobby, share an elevator, or head out the door. By far the most impressive staff I've seen in a while (if ever). And the suites--well, for once, the pictures do not do them justice. I had a corner park-view suite with floor to ceiling windows on two sides. It was simply stunning (although I imagine the vista from the city view rooms would be just as impressive). The bathroom was as big as many hotel rooms I've stayed in. The amenities were lovely, as well. Also, as a bit of a coffee snob, I was thrilled to see a French press and gourmet coffee instead of the usual instant. I never checked out breakfast, but the room service menu was quite extensive and I thought the prices quite reasonable for a 5 star hotel. If you want to eat cheap, do it on the street. If you want amazing eggs Benedict, call room service! The pool was gorgeous. The turn-down service included a sprig of fresh flowers on my pillow. Every morning I opened my door to the day's newspaper. There was absolutely nothing I wanted for. To top it all off, it's less than a 5 minute walk to the Ploenchit BTS station! And all at the ridiculously low price I found on Agoda. My only complaint about the Oriental Residence is that it was so lovely, I hardly left the hotel!

Great location, great service, great hotel..”

It's a very nice modern hotel. Probably one of the best hotels Ive ever stayed at. Transportation is very convenient (not sure about public transport because we always take cabs since its so cheap but I have heard skytrain is only 5-10mins walk from the hotel). Rooms are super nice I was in the one-bed room suite and my other friends were in the deluxe but both types of rooms are awesome! Really enjoyed my Thailand trip! Thank you so much Oriental Residence, Bangkok. If I have to say one bad thing about the hotel its the breakfast. Its really not worth it to eat it there. If you want to save money, go to the 7-11 store across the road, better food anyway :P.

Unprecedented service and residence!”

there is nothing average about this residence. everything is excellent!!! the staff are very professional, speaks excellent english, polite and welcoming. you genuinely feel that they want to take care of you. their service is fantastic - from the moment you arrive, they greet you by name, you get a personal hand-written welcome note from the gm, welcome drink, quick and easy checking-in to checking out. after a long international flight, this residence was the right place to be. the room was well appointed and more importantly comfortable. it felt like home. we highly commend their house-keeping - they were excellent! we also tried cafe claire and their service was excellent too. food was good! we have no complaints about its location too. it's only 10 minutes walk to the nearest bts station and city core. you could also take the residence's complimentary shuttle to the bts station. the only small problem we experienced was our taxi from the airport who did not know how to get to the residence since it is relatively new. this residence is located opposite the american embassy and beside the netherlands embassy. we could not ask for more from this residence. everything was just perfect! we will be back for sure! to the gm and his team at oriental residence, thank you for making our stay so wonderful!

An excellent stay, but location a bit distant from”

Having tried many hotels in Bangkok, Oriental Residence is now the top choice if you value hotel decor, room decor, room size and overall comfie!~ (5 stars no doubt) Hotel personnels are also very helpful and friendly, and food is pretty good, but could potentially be better (we've had better). Only part that I would be inclined to give negative point is its distance to BTS (a good 10-15 min. walk). For men, it's ok, but for ladies, better tag along their shuttle rides. (On the way back is always a pain, because one needs to decide to walk from BTS or take a cab, which everyone knows how bad the traffic congestion / taxi lineup wait is there). One last thing to add, I was bit surprised that the hotel didn't have a spa in it. But there are numerous to choose from. Conrad / Meridien are 5-10 min. walk. Overall, very good stay, but could see further improvement possibly

An incredible experience ”

It was being safety to have a stay in oriental residence since it is located in superior district, no bars, no night live and no beggars. We could definitely enjoy a vacation here without seeing the dark side of Bangkok. The staff of reception were very nice and helpful. They greeted a lot and helped you before you noticed you need help. We highly apperciated the service. The environment and design of hotel was excellent as well. I can say this is the best hotel in Bangkok with such reasonable price.

A delightful hotel with amazing services”

we chose oriental residence based on the fantastic reviews on agoda and tripadvisor and when we experienced the hotel in person it didn't let us down. i personally enjoyed the colour of the interior and the furnitures are nice too. each member of staff at the residence was extremely welcoming and helpful. they practically know what you need and always manage to cater your needs. i would highly recommend it anyone visiting bangkok!

Home away from home”

Great service-apartment-type hotel. It has all the amenities you need in a Hotel. Hotel staffs are friendly and professional. All Hotel staffs are English speakers. Atmosphere of the hotel is primarily for Business traveler. Location is close to business center but accessible to public transport. Rooms are clean. We stayed on the Grand Deluxe room. It has a separate bedroom with a separate Bath and toilet. Living room is spacious with a small dining table and kitchen. If you are staying in Bangkok for a month or just a few days, Oriental residence is the place to stay.

a stylish hotel”

it was our first time staying at the Oriental residence. We were so impressed with the clean and stylish look of the hotel. It's so beautiful and sophisticated. The receptionists were so nice and very helpful. They helped us for the reservation to see the Siam Niramit and got us very good seats right in the center. The door men were so helpful also, they gave us directions and gave us lots of information in regard to the skytrain and nearest Mall. The room is superb and I love the huge bathroom. We requested for an extra bed and when we entered the room, it's already being set up nicely. We also love the pool. This is a hotel with a style.Love it and would come back again someday...

Haven in Bangkok”

Oriental Residence Bangkok is truly a gem of a hotel and we absolutely loved staying here. We were here for 3 nights and were sad to leave. I had a young child with me and the staff were great with her... not to forget they had arranged a very nice cot in the room for her too. The bed was super comfy and having a kitchen in the room was a bonus. Ais and Lilly were great and very helpful. I would highly recommend this beautiful hotel to everyone!

Excellent Stay ”

My friend and I absolutely loved our stay at the Oriental Residence in Bangkok. The place is beautifully done, the staff is impeccable and the room is beyond comfortable. The linens on the beds and the comfort of the beds made the stay beyond enjoyable, we didn't want to leave. In a very good location in Bangkok as well. Awesome sky bar steps away, great food across the street during lunch and everything else you could need around the corner. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and will upon my next trip to Bangkok. Thanks for a wonderful few days. Pool is also very very nice.

Exceptional”

We stayed at the Orniental Residence for two days on our way back to Australia from the Uk. We have an 18 month old and 3 year old and stayed in a park view one bedroom. We landed at 6am so it was around 8am that we would be at the hotel, we made a note to Oriental Residence of our arrive being early and if there was any possibility of an early check-in to which they noted they would do their best to meet our requirements. Upon arrival it was confirmed that our room was ready for us. This was amazing as both of our toe rags decided to have minimal sleep on the plain and the UK time was around 11pm at 8am Thailand time. We caught up on some much needed sleep. As far as the hotel goes, the rooms are a true 5 star and the thought and attention that has gone into the facilities, decor is great. The pool was good, with a separate 1ft deep children’s pool - perfect for us. Breakfast was good. Internet was great (for hotels) 24mbs download. Overall services was exceptional. Thanks.

Best location you can find”

Oriental Residence Bangkok is brandnew (opening 2012) and has spacious rooms with fully equiped kitchen; all with best materials. Staff speaks very well English, is very friendly, helpful and comptent. Everything worked out very well. Hotel has also a shuttle bus bringing you to nearby train station, shopping or restaurant at no cost. Situated near US and Dutch Ambassade with nice gardens.

Amazing! A Very Fine Hotel!”

Quite Location on Wireless Road, but still really convenient to central Bangkok. The Oriental Residence is one of the top hotels in the city. I would rank it as one of the finest hotel experiences in recent memory. My suite was simply amazing, My wife loved the oversized bathroom and I really appreciated the complimentary fruit basket delivered to our room. It went perfect with our bottle of wine. This hotel is a real treat and if you appreciate refined luxury and exceptional personal service, then you will surely be pleased when booking here.

Lovely hotel with great service”

let me start off by saying that we are marriott platinum card holders. with all the perks this affords us, getting my significant other to stay at a non-marriott property is a bit of a challenge. i thought the oriental residence looked amazing on agoda and was able to convince him to stay here for 2 nights on the return leg of our phuket vacation. we were not disappointed!! furthermore, he even suggested we stay here again when we return to thailand ... that's how great this property is. our room. our corner suite room was one of the most beautiful hotel rooms in which we've ever stayed. it was well appointed with a micro-kitchen with dining table, huge marble bathroom with soaking tub, balcony and living room. the room was very modern -- a lovely blend of chic contemporary and classic elegance. the view from our room was amazing – overlooking the american embassy and the park. other areas: the pool area is equally as wonderful – comfortable, relaxing, beautiful and friendly service. while we didn't use the fitness center, we did look at it - i'd say it is above average. service: the staff is friendly and quite helpful. room service was affordable and tasty, although the portions were a bit small. we'll definitely stay here again.

Romantic 5-star hotel - Incredible”

It was perfect. I cannot recommend this hotel more. The service, amenities and luxury of the accommodations were beyond what I expected, considering I got such a good deal with Agoda. The posted price was 20K Bhat a night for the type of room we had (Grand Deluxe) but we got a deal with Agoda that was just around 5.5K Bhat a night (168 USD). Thank you to Agoda and Oriental Residences for the pampered experience.

Lovely hotel”

Loved this hotel!!! The lobby, the rooms, the whole space is very elegant and functional. The staff was so helpful and courteous! The location was good but my perfect spot in Bangkok is Siam Square , I wish they would open an Oriental Residence in that location,!

The nicest hotel, absolutely amazing!”

we stayed in the one bedroom suite (city view) and it was absolutely amazing. the suite is huge and everything was perfect. it was hard for us to leave this hotel and i doubt i'll ever find anywhere as nice. it's also a great location for getting around. you can take a cheap cab anywhere in bangkok and the staff are very friendly and helpful. if you are going to bangkok, you have to stay at the oriental residence and the upgrade to the one bed suite is more than worth it!
