Stay here when you drive from Bangkok - Chiang Mai”
the hotel is located in tak, around half way from bangkok to the popular northern destinations such as chiangmai, chiang rai, and mae hong son. so i recommend everyone who drives their own vehicles from bangkok to the north to stop for a night here, so you wont' be too tired and fall asleep while driving. it takes around 4-5 hours to drive from bangkok and 4-5 hours from here to chiang mai. the hotel is next to the ping river so you can enjoy nice view. we like that the door is opened by key card and everything in the room is modern and adequate for a quick stay. a big refrigerator. centralized lighting system. the best deal is perhaps the breakfast which offers a greater variety than other hotels in thailand at this price range. my wife's favorite is pancake and honey. we're very happy staying here for the price we paid and we always come back here every time we travel to the north. highly recommended if you want a quick stay.

Over expectation.”
Me and my partner stayed here for a night and had a really warm welcome by the staffs. The breakfast was really nice. So many choices. It was the first time I tried "Kaw Tom Tak" or soft-boil rice with pork mixing with curry powder (Authentic breakfast in these area). I'm Thai but never try this dish before. The hotel itself is pretty old but It's in a good maintaining. The location is perfect. It's located just next to the flea market and just 100 meters from 7-11, a well-know convenience store in Thailand. The room was really good. You can see the Ping river from the room from almost every room (I guess). Overall, nothing to complain for a price I paid for (Below a thousand Thai Bath for twin room).

Good hotel close to street markets”
We enjoyed our stay at Viangtak Riverside. It is very comfortable and the breakfast is good and starts at 6:00 AM. The restaurant has good food, but it is pricey by Thai standards. We chose this hotel so we could travel back and forth to Buhmibol Dam golf course. The cost to hire a car through the hotel was far too expensive, but we met a fellow farang on the street and got cheaper transport with a lovely lady who has great English.

Great value hotel”
The hotel is well situated in the centre of Tak. There is parking front and rear, overseen by very attentive staff. Our room was clean and maintained to a good standard during our 11 night stay. The buffet breakfast was excellent everyday. Staff in all departments were friendly and efficient. Very good value for money.

A profesional place”
The reception and the bellboy! (he also spoke English) treated me very friendly. It is obvious that the hotel is run 'hands on', nothing to complain about re the room (river view) allocated. The place is really 'The grande Dame' of Tak. I would most certainly come again. The breakfast buffet was of a high quality with even youghurt and pastry.

Good stop-over hotel”
Viangtak Riverside Hotel in Tak is well placed for car travelers heading to north Thailand. It is located 5-6 hours drive from Bangkok or Chiang Rai. There is good parking at the hotel entrance and adequate facilities throughout the hotel, although it is not a hotel for long stays. Some floors are smoking so be sure to request non-smoking floor if required. The top floor has the best rooms.

Location”
This old lady of Tak has seen some slight improvements over the last few years. The rooms, well worn but everything in working condition are OK; the water pressure (3613) was just OK. The a la carte food in the restaurant next to the swimming pool is cheap in price and even more cheap in taste. The Red Duck Curry was so chewy that I decided not to finish but to order a pork plate on pepper sauce. This time the meat was tender but meat and pepper corns were swimming in oyster sauce. Next time we shall have food elsewhere .....

Beautiful room, service may have to be improved”
Have reached Tak in the evening, well smile reception by staff. The hotel sits right in the middle of town. Delicious food with fair price. Night walk is save with lots of shopping, it is fun. Breakfast is good with local food and fruits, especially old style of coffee making which is very strong flavor and aroma. If have chance, shall visit and stay at the hotel again.

Location Location Location”
This hotel is showing its age a bit, but that should not stop you from staying! The rooms are clean and though do need some 'dressing up' a bit, they are not old and coming apart. They are clean and the beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms are very clean and offer all that you would expect to find... I did like the fact that the water was actually hot enough to make tea rather than the usual 'Health and Safety' governors on the system. I have only 2 grips... the fist is that the staff on the font desk seem to be a bit lost when dealing with your Agoda reservation. But once you get by that they are nice enough. The second is the fact that the hotel's pool is located right next to the restaurant... personally I do not like to give the customers trying to eat a water based floor show. But that is just me. The good thing about the pools location is that you will have it to yourself all day if you like. The hotel parking can get a bit confusing at night as there is a club of some kind right next door to the hotel and though I have never heard any noise while staying at the hotel... well the scooter population can get a bit out of hand. It has t be said that there is parking out in the back (river side) of the hotel... but again... get there early. In front there are attendants/guards that will assist you in parking. But that space is guarded all night... so like me your motorcycle will be safe. The location of this hotel is its biggest plus. It is right next to the river front road. It is right there for all the street food you could eat and the markets on the weekends as well well within walking distance of the Saturday night market at the end of the River Front Road. The prices is very good and if you are in Tak for either a day or longer... this is a great place to hang your hat. Yes, there are cheaper places, but not with it's location where Tesco/Lotus and Big C are right next door or where you can hear the traffic and trucks on the main road. Be sure t

Overnight stop on the way to Mae Sot.”
Staff were friendly and helpful. English was adequate. Hotel was a bit tired and could do with a makeover. The bathroom while clean needs an update. Breakfast was good. The hotel was good views to the west from the room and was close to the centre of Tak. I found it very easy to find as it was the only large building near the river.

As good as it gets in Tak - business people hotel”
Our room was spacious, clean, and had a splendid view of the river Ping. Tak is a bit of a backwater, not really catering for western tourists cuisine - apart from fast food outlets in Big C and Tesco. Eating dinner there was below average taste, and beer was expensive. You also need a car or motorbike to get around to better restaurants along the river. Extensive buffet breakfast, but only catering for Asian tastes. Voluminous quantities of meat dishes, mainly pork - no vegetarian hot dishes. Despite a karaoke bar somewhere, our room was quiet until the revellers came back in the early hours - the walls are thin and noise carried. All in all, the rooms are good value for the cost, which includes breakfast.

Better upgrade to Deluxe for 100 Baht more.”
i had chances to stay at this hotel in both superior and deluxe rooms and already gave review before so i just want to say that it's worth upgrading the room to deluxe for just baht more. the room looks newer, better decorated, and comes with much better and softer beds and pillows.

Good value hotel overlooking the Ping river”
I've stayed in roughly 25 different hotels in Thailand over the last 16 months, and this is the only one that had what I consider to be a "soft" mattress - a bit too soft for my taste. There is something of a park along the riverside - a great place for an early morning run. The swimming pool is small and mostly for children. The shower was good and the free WiFi worked well in my room. There were a few non-Thai TV channels, such as BBC, on the TV. The free breakfast buffet was OK at best. I had some corn flakes with milk, some watermelon, toast with butter and jelly. I'd have liked some real yogurt, rather than the watered-down stuff that people drink here, and some granola to add to that. Maybe some peanut butter, Nutella, or Vegemite to spread on the toast. Please add some mango, now that they are in-season. The hotel has some obvious signs of age, but it seems to be well-maintained.

Nice hotel with good value for a short stay”
The beds in deluxe room are so much better and softer than the cheapest rooms so we totally recommend paying a bit more to upgrade to room if you would like to have a better sleep quality. We have been visiting this hotels very often during the past year, perhaps more than 10 times. So far so good. Only the last time, the air conditioner in our room was broken and it made us feel a bit uncomfortable. Lucky that the weather was cold. Otherwise, we would have to request room change if it's summer.

For up-country Thailand this is an excellent option. ”
Rooms are great ( we had a corner suite), very spacious and comfortable. TV channels don't offer much for an English speaker, though my wife was happy. Breakfast was a typical hotel buffet breakfast, though with better coffee than the norm. The only real negative was the parking, or lack of it. Difficult at times to get a spot near the hotel, particularly when the nightclub next door was in full swing.

Good place to stay, near to street food.”
It was a reasonably good, clean & comfortable hotel, although it is not centrally located. Staff performance was ok & the room was clean & comfortable. Walking distance to night market where there are lots of yummy street food. Breakfast provided by hotel was very good. Overall, it was a wonderful stay @ Tak.

nice stay”
Came to see Tak as a tourist but not really much information. The local tourist map has a very poor English translation and didn't describe the attractions. Should have traveled to Mai Sai and stayed there.

Big room and great breakfast”
The location is great. You can find many local restaurants and food stalls. The room is clean and spacious, overlooking to Ping river. The breakfast buffet is just perfect with a lot of kinds of foods, drinks and fruits. The staff is very nice and always smile. You can easily access to interesting tourist attraction places. We are happy with this hotel.
