Bantul hotels & places to stay

We arrived 11:30am, we are told that 2pm is the check in time so we left our luggage for safekeeping and headed outside for Lunch. There are PLENTY of options to choose from- from cheap eats to mid-range all are in close proximity from this hotel. Walk a few blocks, there is also a pharmacy nearby to buy some for your emergency kit. There is also a big grocery store near that pharmacy. After we ate our lunch we went back for check in. While waiting, you can drink lemon water and or cucumber water available beside the reception counter. Wifi is great. Later on a staff appeared along with our luggage to accompany us to our room. The Room: we booked a Superior class room. It is nice with a rectangular sofa at the front of the bed. There are 2 Free water bottles, coffee, creamer, sugar packets and heating kettle on the side table. Nice flat screen TV. Aaand, my favorite part- bed and pillows are so comfy and soft ❤️ Comfort room is ok, equipped with hair blower and typical shower combo of soap, hair cap, dental kit, shampoo, shower gel. The only thing I don’t like is this- Towels have this smell- a familiar one to me- a smell that seems like a strong bleach. Not nice smelling. Shower can be hot or cold real quick depends on your liking. They also have slippers, and they are made of thin rubber. Inside the room there is a closet with hangers for your clothes, trash bin, and a mini ref with some goodies inside for sale. There is also food menu on the table side in case you want room service. Breakfast: My favorite part ❤️ Buffet breakfast with decent array of choices- you can request them to make waffles, crepes and there is an Egg station, traditional food station, sausages, chicken, beef, veggies, fruits, salad counter, bread counter with jams, butter, little cakes, Juices- 5 kinds - coffee is brewed and readily available, tea ( they use Dilmah packet in diff flavors). I booked 2 rooms for 5 days 4 nights. The room size is acceptable. Have a basic facilities; fridge, kettle and tv. For cleanliness, need some improvement especially for the bathroom. Aircond needs some maintenance since it wasn't cold enough. Should up to the standard of 3 stars hotel. The rest are good. Helpful and polite staff. They responded quickly for everything we asked for. Strategic location where you can easily find few food stalls. Overall, very good!

We are on a backpacking holiday....but couldn't resist upping the budget just a bit to stay in such a luxurious hotel for still a really great price. The location is good, very close to Prawirotaman road with all the restaurants and bars. Feeling a bit templed out from our travels, having seen Angkor Wat, we decided to forego Borobudur and hire a becak for a day (very very cheap) and see the sites in Yogjakarta (ask for Bagio who usually situates himself outside the Grand palace...he was wonderful!). Recommend hiring a guide to see the Taman Sari (water palace) otherwise you won't see what you need to see.....its a lot of twisting alleys. UNESCO are apparently restoring it soon to how it was centuries ago...it's a very interesting place. Although sadly it will mean displacing the 500 inhabitants! As far as restaurants go, everyone heads for Via Via. Although we felt it was not a patch on another restaurant on the other side, before you get to Via Via, name escapes me, but has a black and white chequered sign with lots of colored lanterns. Ask for the Indonesian vegetable and coconut dish! The staff and ambience are wonderful.

This hotel is located in a smaller 1 lane aisle leading to the main road. You can walk to mini mart or pub which is located on the main road. Room is ok for this price. I got a 2 single bed as they run out of room with double. My room has a balcony facing the front entrance but it was not noisy. Hotel is clean but it has seen it's greater days. Breakfast is served, again, appropriate for the price you pay. It's not grand but enough and filling. Staff has limited vocab in English but they are helpful. My complain would be the water pressure for shower is significantly on the low side but hot water is available.

Generally it was optimal accomodation. we are budget travelers and for us it was for reasonable price, very clean and comfort and breakfast was just awesome. Big plus is that in restaurant they have pack (food and drink) and it's cheap and tasty. Big and nice pool. Personal i very helpfull and kind. One only think (but it's not really minus but moreless personal note) - music on breakfast start to be after some time very annoying...

If it is relaxation you are looking for with exceptional service this is the place to stay. As soon as we arrived at Villa Rosseno we felt at home in a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. The facility was nice and clean and we had a private swimming pool. They also provided free laundry and massage. All meals were prepared for us on OUR schedule so we did not need to worry about returning to the villa and missing lunch or dinner. We could even have breakfast for dinner if we chose. The taste and presentation were beyond expectations and always more that we could eat. We had a car and driver available to us 24 hours a day. The only decisions we had to make were where we wanted to go and not how to get there. Very convenient. The owner and staff go out of their way to make your stay relaxing and comfortable. Not enough could be said about the service from the owner, chef and drivers. The experience of staying in Villa Rosseno was the highlight of our vacation. We loved our 6 day stay and hated to leave. We will definitely be returning to Villa Rosseno on our next trip to Yogyakarta. It is really the only place to stay! Many thanks to the owner Meggie, the chef Maymay, the driver Lasiman and all the staff to make our trip so wonderful and enjoyable.

Pros: excellent location, affordable price, fair size room, value for ot price, free hot tea in the morning, daily houskeeping Cons: slow water pressure, old building, old linen, invention of ants soldier, electrict blackout at midnight about 3o minutes, moldy wall and lack of sunlight in the room But overall it’s worth for the money i paid and i will definitely comeback and recomend to my friends and family

We are family of 4, with children age 4 & 7. We booked for 2 days as we don't know how it will be. We requested to be picked up, and even when our flight was late, the driver is still there waiting. We booked family room, which turned out to be really spacious (more than we expected), even with our 8 luggages. Room is well air-con, hot water (which is important for my fussy girls) and of course, the telly. Mas Jack, mbak Widi, mas Frisda (tanpa Yanti....:) peace mas....)dan Ibu Rika were all very friendly and helpful. The service is superb. Tried to book few more days but they were all booked. But we did came back to this Homestay at the end of our trip for another 3 nights. Definately this Homestay is our favourite, and we surely will stay here again on our next holiday !!! If you want to have a quiet place and enjoy kampong style in jogja with reasonable price this is the place. Stayed for 3 night with my wife, we really enjoyed the wood bungalow, the design, layout etc especially the outdoor bath. Verdict Location; 30 minutes from downtown jogja but splendid if you want to explore the outer ring of jogja like bantul. The bungalow; love it no AC no TV but we got the retreat feelings. The staff; super helpful and friendly. Suggested activities Visit kasongan find some art and home decor Go south to gunung kidul or north east to sleman Massage in the bungalow, reasonable price. Enjoy the bamboo viewing point in the morning. Ask the staff for everything.

awalnya booking karena hotel2 lain udah pada full book, dan tinggal hotel ini yg lokasi, harga, dan tampilannya (photo) masih ok. gak sangka pas sampe ternyata photo dan realitasnya dapat dipertanggungjawabkan (gak cuma indah di photo). ini hotel kelihatannya sudah cukup tua, tapi karena dirawat dengan apik masih terlihat cantik dan bersih. tampilan luar nuansa etnik, tapi untuk kamarnya sendiri modern. karena ini hotel kecil, jumlah staffnya juga tidak banyak, tapi ramah, dan tanggap terhadap tamu. salut sama kerja keras mereka. pemilik hotel ini keturunan Indonesia-Belanda, dan target pasar hotel ini sebetulnya memang wisatawan belanda dan perancis yang berwisata ke daerah Jogja dan sekitarnya, hanya saat saat tertentu (misal lebaran) bisa penuh sama wisatawan lokal untuk fasilitas cukup lengkap untuk kebutuhan menginap dan bersantai. ada kolam renang (dalam 2 - 2,5 M), Air panas, Wifii, peralatan mandi standard (sayang handuknya bersih tapi terlihat tua, sebaiknya diganti baru)

We are setting all expectations low when booking online. It always pays off. Rajaklana gave us new experience, especially for our two little boys. They called it forrest houses. Because the route to Rajaklana passes lits of hills and forrest. And better yet, the locations of Rajaklana surrounded by tons of jati trees. They love both swimming pools. The infinity one being our favorite but the boat one is our kids favorite. Because it is practically just us that day, we cannot experience Rajaklana fully all out. Definitely will be back again soon.

Our stay was just fantastic. The beds were comfortable and only in Venezia did we get proper sleep during our whole trip in Indonesia. The bathroom was spacious although the bathroom lock didn't work, that was a non-issue for us. What we really appreciated most though are the tours we booked from them - afternoon tour to Prambanan and whole day tour to Borobudur and Dieng Plateau. The driver for the Prambanan tour was courteous, friendly and have good communication skills. The person who drove us around for Borobudur and Dieng Plateau was, I believe, one of the owners of the homestay and he seemed like a very intelligent and friendly person. He was surely knowledgeable of the area and even went out of his way to make sure we make the most out of our 2 days in Yogyakarta. Though not included in the tour package, he took us to a local eatery upon request since we wanted to eat in a cheap place run by a local. He also took us to a local grocery store where we found excellent but cheap Indonesian tea and coffee to bring home. He also directed us to the nearby Monggo chocolate store and there we found super delicious hand-made Indonesian chocolates that were a hit in my office. Since we've accumulated quite a lot of souvenirs, he also gave us a box and a roll of tape so we could pack everything properly. In short, we were really pampered. Venezia Homestay is located in a quiet neighborhood and is just around 30 minutes from the train station and airport considering traffic. It is also walking distance from attractions such as Taman Sari and Malioboro street (where great shopping bargains await). Venezia also has a small pool that can provide just the refreshing swim needed after a whole day of touring in the hot weather. In short, my friends and I definitely recommend Venezia Homestay when you are travelling to Yogyakarta!

I arrived In Yogyakarta at another hotel. It was awful. After a couple hours of frustration I found this place on Agoda and booked it. I took a meter taxi near by, and walked around. It is hard to find. If you go past normal business hours it will be very tough. The night security did not speak any English and could not direct me over the phone. He also couldn't check me in properly once I found it. But after 15 minutes I was set. Probably the most comfortable bed in Indo so far. Acceptable wifi, very hot water, and amazing customer service. For $13 it was a steal. I stayed three nights. Since I checked in so late I slept in. When I woke up, Yusuf offered to show me around. I didn't go to those stupid temples at something like 250k rupiah a pop. Yusuf showed me all the local food. Over the course of two days (maybe 13 hours) we tasted and tried over 30 plates of food. All the local specialties. He drove the motorbike and I helped look up places on my google maps. He helped me find local made bathtub Arrack, buy mangosteens... I wanted for nothing. Yogyakarta is a great relaxing little spot and was a delight after the hustle and bustle of Jakarta. Stay here, rent a motorbike, and enjoy!

at first i didn't expect too much from my stay. especially with Rp 150K per night. apparently they provide a lot of facilities. you can borrow hair dryer (it's very useful after showering esp, after hiking in Gunung Kidul),. you can use the kitchen anytime you want (very important from home-cook like me). they provide books! (i looveeee reads). a homey neighbourhood ( i can walk around 5 AM in the morning). overall, in Rumah Panjaitan, you can have much with a reasonable price. two thumbs up!

The staffs were very helpful and responsive in managing my booking. I had to change my booking from a dorm room to single room and the staffs were patient & flexible enough to help change my booking. You will have to pay cash/ transfer, they don't accept credit card. Delicious breakfast made to order and lobby is homey & cozy. Also they provide tour services, so you can plan your travel on the get-go. My room is located near a mosque so I could hear prayer callings every 5AM & 6PM. There is no partition between the shower, toilet, and wash bowl so get ready to have a perpetually wet bathroom. Also, there is no full body mirror in the room and no hairdryer available (I don't consider myself as vain, but I figure these things are quite essential for me). One thing that could be improved is the washing of towel & bed sheets, there were a damp smell, so I had to use my own towel.

We love staying at Imogen Bnb. Our room is big and cozy, towel was provided, there's also living room, dining area and kitchen, everything is clean, the staff also very good, they provided iron for us. Wifi also provided, just sometimes the connection are low in the room. Everything in the house was nice including the free tea and coffee which everyone can have anytime. Thank you Andi Devita!
