Cologne hotels & accommodations

I was visiting Cologne to meet my brother and to experience the Christmas markets. I found the Maritim perfectly located for the markets and the historic old centre of Cologne. We had a very enjoyable few days, the hotel was very comfortable, rooms spacious and the breakfast substantial and with plenty of variation. We enjoyed the open area and the bar and the gene...

One of the nicest hotels in Cologne with really good prices- the rooms and bathrooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Very quiet hotel as well. The staff was very accommodating and the fitness room was quite nice as well. Would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic staff. Location great overlooking the river Rhine. Breakfast is very good but a bit expensive if not included. The only negative point is the hotel is looking a bit tired and dated and a bit pricey compared to other hotels in Cologne.

aeound 5 to 7min walk from the train station but if you have luggages like us it will take longer. a liitle hard to find esp if u dont have gps. hotel is a bit old but with a relaxing ambiance. we booked a standard double room but they gave us a deluxe room. complete toiletries and slippers provided with free bottled water on the first day. compared to other european h...

It is a very nice hotel which is in the middle of the Cologne city centre. The location is great - very close to everything you might want to do while you are visiting. Public transportation to anywhere in a walking distance from the hotel. 7 minutes walking to the central shopping areas, and all kinds of food around this area. The staff is great and happy to help with...

We stayed one night and had a very good stay. We arrived by car and the arrival was easy. During check-in we recieved a ticket to the car parking located below the hotel. So we could carry the luggage directly from the parking to the rooms. The check-in was fast. The rooms was very fine and large and very clean. The AC worked perfectly and wifi was stable but with a li...

Stayed 3 nights at the hotel. The location of the hotel was just 4 mins walk from the main station - Koln HBF. Walking distance to the Cologne Cathedral as well as the shopping streets and eateries. The room is spacious with clean toilets. Overall, the stay was good for us and will definitely stay in Wyndham if we were to visit Cologne again.

I first visited cologne 6 years ago whilst on business. It was only for one night. I arrived late and left early, but i do remember it was a "nice hotel". So when i had 4 days on holiday in Cologne i immediately thought to book the Pullman. I'm so glad i did, as it was one of the best hotel experiences i had enjoyed in many years. My welcome was outstanding. If i owned...

We booked as a result of a mix-up with a booking at another local hotel. (My fault, not the hotel!) We found the Premiere Classic at Cologne West to be equally good at about half the price. The breakfast was plentiful and most enjoyable and the staff were very helpful. The room was spotless and comfortable. If we find ourselves in Cologne again, we would not hesitate t...

I travelled to Cologne twice a year for past 15 years and Mercure Friesentrasse hotel is my first choice but in some cases the hotel rate is three times which is too high for me to cope, generally I like this hotel and will continue to stay subject to the normal room rate

It's located in such a great location that you can visit almost all important places by walking or you can get bus/taxi at your doorstep. The Cologne central station is not too far. A good Indian restaurant also there nearby in a two minute walking distance. It provides free WiFi, free coffee on a 24x7 basis too.

When we arrived the hotel had no knowledge of our booking from agoda but the man on the desk sorted this for us .Rooms are clean and spacious shuttle was also very useful but its only a ten minute walk to the train station and then 15 mins into town

Despite the name "Mariella Airport" the hotel is located in downtown Porz, a part of Cologne, about more than 5 km away from the airport without direct transfer possibilities. No shuttle, nothing! The next tram staion is 400m away, the S-Bahn (train) is about 1,2 km away. Arriving late at night you have to go by cab, which is an additional € 15.- . The hotel itself ...

A very good stay here with only one minor complaint: I assume the mattress we had was new as it was ROCK hard. To the point where I must have slipped off the pillow during the night onto my cheek, I woke up with tooth ache! Otherwise, the facilities were incredible for the price, the bathroom extremely well furnished and the building kept incredibly clean. A stylish l...

The hotel was very close to the Cologne Hbf and is close to all the attractions nearby. One thing to note is that apparently, according to the reception staff, there's a newly imposed accommodation tax by the Cologne city - would have to pay around 5 euros over the counter.

Very central hotel located close to Cologne Cathedral. Room is small but ok, good value for money. However the hotel has no reception or staff, you check in from a machine outside (and only after 3pm!), so there’s really no one around to assist you in case you need to store your luggage or ask for information. The only employee we saw during our stay was the cleaner w...

When we planned our trip to Cologne, we knew we would want to stay near the station and the town center. Cologne Marriott Hotel definitely provides the best location. The service was OK, comparing to other hotels in Germany, this is one of the OK ones, the rests are worse. The staffs are not as friendly as we have expected for a 5 star hotel though, but acceptable.

Stayed here for three nights with my girlfriend mainly to visit the Christmas markets. The hotel is very good value for money and offers a very good breakfast that was not included in the package that we had but it was worth the money. The reception and breakfast staff were multilingual with excellent English and were friendly and efficient. The room we had was small ...

We booked a room with private bathroom but when we arrived, the receptionist said it's full and they booked us a room with a public bathroom. It was frustrating but good thing their toilet is clean and no one took a bath during the night and morning, only us! The room was big enough and clean. Location is very near to the cathedral and train station. This hote...

prof. welcome, fast check in, friendly front office, ideal location for traveler with own transport: major highway easy accessible, cologne airport , and Messe Koeln near by. Very good 4star room standards. Restaurants near by. (Hotel does not have own restaurant but that is no problem at all.

I was visiting Cologne with a friend and spent just one night at the Courtyard. The hotel is located less than a ten minute walk from the train station which made our arrival and departure quite painless. We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff and checked in quickly. The room and bathroom were extremely clean and our twin beds a good size. The level of se...

This hotel was on a quiet side street in Cologne, but only a few minutes walk to busy pedestrian areas and main sights like the catherdral. There was also a Metro station only a few metres from the hotel. The room was very small, not much space to move around the bed, especially with luggage, but the room was very clean and all we really needed. The breakfast was quite...

Huge comfortable beds, bright rooms, fresh air and secure premise. Staff went over and above, incredibly friendly and full of suggestions not only for Cologne but all over Germany. Very convenient bar at ground floor. Great value breakfast. The rooms all have a character of their own which was really cool. Would definitely stay here again.

This is the second time I have stay in the hotel. The hotel is not in the hustle, bustle (and noise and dirt - who wants that) of the center but is so very close. It is just a short walk away. It is clean, decent and a very pleasant place. Good facilities, nice breakfast (buffet type) and the room facilities are all in good order. I have no doubt it will be my fi...

Very bad experience. In fact, never seen such disappointing service in a hotel, and I travel a lot! Firstly the GOOD part: location within walking distance to KoelnMesse and Dome, close to S-banhs and D-bahn, three stops from airport! Clean room. BAD: hotel service. They don't speak much English, takes forever to print a invoice. Didn't even care to ask if I am busines...

The first time I saw this hotel, I felt in love already. The location is perfect. Only 5 minutes walk to main train station and on the Rhein river. I was lucky enough to have whole floor for me. The room is spacious and able to accommodate for 3 people and it has bath tub. The view over the window is amazing. If I'm hungry, I only need to go down and they sold food and...

we loved this hotel the location near the metro station and easy to reach to any part of cologne, we had a car and the parking was good and safe with reasonable price, the room was huge as Europe standards nicely decorated, very helpful staff and happy to answer all our questions, definitely we will stay in Azimut in our next visit to Cologne

stay in this hotel during the recent drupa exhibition in dusseldorf. there is a train from the koln sud station to dusseldorf every hour. this make commuting to the messe dusseldorf and messe koln an easy task. the neighbourhood is full of student and therefore the food is at student rate. it is only 3 station to neumarkt. this make shopping easy. hotel is defintely a ...

We stayed at this hotel to visit Photokina 2010 at the Koelnmesse, prefering not to indulge in the hotels. At night tax inclusive during peak season, the price was quite reasonable. I booked the hotel because of the location: close to Cologne resp. the motorway. The room was nice, clean and the bed was comfortable. Internet worked well and breakfast was ok. All that at a very good price compared to what you pay at most other hotels in the cologne area. I will consider this hotel for my next business trip again.

This was a fantastic hotel for visiting the Cologne Christmas markets. We are for the the trade show. Stayed for 6nights in a row. When we first arrived, I was amazed already by the location. It is literally right next to the central train station, which made going to anywhere very easy. We also had an early arrival, like 9am. I had the staff steven check if we could check in a bit earlier. He went up to check in person and gave us the ...

What a delight to step out of the room in bathrobe to stroll to the hot baths and saunas ! If you stay at the hotel, you do not need to worry about the changing room, since you change in your hotel room. You can spend as much time as you like in the spa, marinating in the hot pools and having sauna sessions. Clothing is optional in the pools, and forbidden in the sauna...

This is very nice hotel. Clean and functional. The hotel is a little way out of the main city and there isn't much to do in the surrounding area. The tram (Line number 1) is a 2 min walk from the hotel providing easy access to the main city. I liked being away from the main city this time as being on a business trip the peaceful surroundings ensured that I had wind ...

Unfortunately at 5'o clock in the morning I was always I was awakened by the strong smell of fried food that came from the kitchen although my room was on the 3rd floor. To try to keep on sleeping I had to leave the window completely open in spite of the cold temperature. Furthermore the fridge was very noisy.

This is one of the best hotels from our trip in Germany. Hotel located a bit outside Altstadt but you can reach the Dom with 15-minute walk or take a bus no.132 to the center and walk back to the hotel via Hohe Street. the good point is that the hotel is located in the heart of the city, walking distance to all attractions and restaurants, so very good for a short stay where you also want to see the old town. the hotel itself is in 4 star standard, modern and chic. the staff was quite helpful, so all in standard. waht i didnt liked was the prices for additionals. its clear for me ...

The New Yorker is situated in an (partly abandoned) old industrial area. Distance from the exhibition is about 2 kilometres (highly depending which exit you take; the south exit is about the furthest). The hotel claims 4 stars which, in my view, is quite an exaggeration. German food is not very popular. Max Stark is a good German restaurant with excellent portions. Also you should check out the Nazi documentation center its really interesting and you can go downstairs to the cells and see the prisoners artwork.
The old-city has a romantic atmosphere.Cologne has besides the dom manny other lovely buildings to see and fun markets to visit.
I spent 4 days in Cologne in December and I absolutely loved the Christmas markets! it's a perfect time to visit the city, it's magical! I definitely recommend to visit the Cathedral with a guide, it's only 5 or 10 euros, but it's totally worth it!
My second visit to Cologne I hope to return some day It is a great city Dont get a taxi from the airport very easy using the train and a Tenth of the cost
It is a bit disappointing that the Cologne Cathedral right beside the train station is quite dirty and dark.
there is a lot of sightseeing to do in Koln from the most famous Cologne Cathedral (Kölner Dom), the Chocolate Museum, Fragrance Museum Farina-House and restaurants and bars everywhere right next to the Rhine river.
Cologne is a nice city to walk around and if you enjoy nightlife they have cool bars. That's not my interest but if you like shopping that's not going to be a deception as there are a lot of shops of all kinds.
Nice city. Go during the Christmas market season. Be careful, there are petty thefts at the crowded places so watch the purses/wallets.
A very cultural city in Europe, it used to be the capitol of the west northern area of Germany, so lots of historical churches/buildings to see.
just a normal city - dont spent to much time in it...in my eyes it isnt worth. The dome is ok, but i not worth to go there only for it.
nice city with great character. so much history because of the war. several key buildings still remain while most of the building are post war.
Cathedral of Cologne, wonderful views, the Schokoladen Museum, a trip on the Rhine, go to a musical in the evenings, Sportmuseum, shopping areas: Schildergasse, Hohe Straße, Breite Straße
Very nice, peaceful and calm town. The people are very friendly too. After noticing that I have come with my wife and kid, the person at the information center suggested a different and a cheaper ticket.
Very nice quin area. Good to visit in December for the Christmas markets. The ambuience is good.People are very friendly adn offer help whereever possible.
Love Christmas time in Cologne. The Christmas markets are wonderful and the city is beaming with holiday excitement.
The down town of the city is very lively hood and, many coffee shops and restaurants around the streets, and they stay open till late night.
Don't forget to visit some supermarket, DM and Rosseman shops, it's so reasonable for the quality and the price.
Summer time is good for sightseeing U can walk around this city , enjoy the foods and beers . Also have shopping street Nice view , if u like take photos it was the perfect place
Do go to a museum at Cologne. Just pick one of your choice. I went to NS-Dokumentationszentrum and Museum Ludwig, both of which are really impressive.
Besides the Dom, you may also spend some time to visit Bonn when you're in Koln. It's only 20mins by train.
