"We found this hotel about 10 years ago and have been coming back ever since. With a small child, we needed a small, not noisy hotel with a kitchenette and not too far away from the beach (it's a 5 min drive to the publich beach). This year, we especially were lookig forward to staying at this hotel as it appeared to undergo full renovation a couple of years ago. We have always stayed in a King Bd with a sofa room overlooking the pool area. White- tan- blue colors make the room look much bigger. A brand new kitchenette, although smaller, is a delight - it has everything you need. A bright brand new bathroom is also nice looking. New floors, new furniture - everything looks very pleasant. The AC unit is also new, so there is no smell of dampness (what you usually get in older hotels in the south especially). We will definitely be coming back."

"Location and food are great! You are literally steps away from the beach. Everything you’d need including restaurants and shops are within walking distance. Our stay included the breakfast package and I’d suggest you get this when you book. When reading reviews, a ton of people mentioned the staff not being too great. I thought, “who cares!” Well, I was wrong! I cared! Majority of staff are either poorly trained or just straight up don’t care. Some are rude, some are disinterested in helping, some will ignore you. Bar/restaurant staff were not helpful AT ALL! They pick and chose who they want to serve or help. Case in point, I spent two whole mornings/afternoons at the pool with my family. Not one time did the poolside waitress acknowledge us. She was interested in serving the drunk frat guys. Front desk staff was hit or miss and the white couples/families. Pool deck is full of biting ants too! We arrived pretty late and the front desk staff quickly ran through the lanyards and where to find breakfast. Next day, I wanted to confirm we could stay in our room as we booked two separate reservations. This time the front desk staff person acted like I was stupid for asking and was more pissed she had to actually pull her mask up in order to talk to me. Later that evening, I asked another front desk staff for a restaurant recommendation. She sent us to a closed restaurant! Like, don’t you live here? Housekeeping staff... there isn’t any. However, I did see someone scrubbing the elevator floor one morning 🤷🏽‍♀️ You have to request towels, toilet paper and such. Which was not explained to us. Luckily I brought our own cleaning supplies and trash bags. Yes, you have to take out your own trash. Staff wore masks maybe 40% of the time and their masks did not cover their noses. The room is a room. Yes it smells of mildew at times but we’re literally on a beach! Maybe things will improve post Covid. "

"We had an absolutely wonderful time at our stay at Sonesta at Hilton Head. The resort was in a great location with the beach just a short walk away (no driving necessary...yay!) and the pool was just downstairs from our room. We could not have asked for a better location, honestly. The property has beautiful trees and nice little ponds. My little boy loved looking at the turtles in the pond each day. It was definitely a highlight. I took advantage of the coffee shop downstairs each morning and my drink was excellent. We ate at the restaurant on site and the food was very good. I liked how you are able to charge purchases made at any location on the resort to your room. It just made things a little easier not having to carry my payment everywhere with me. It was also very nice that they offered beach/pool towels. I didn't have to worry about our personal towels getting used up. We would definitely recommend Sonesta at Hilton Head to anyone. It was wonderful!"
