Kanchanaburi hotels & places to stay

We are very pleased that we have been able to spend a few days at what will undoubtedly be considered by far the best hotel in Kanchanaburi once word gets around. Excellent accommodation, clean, with own balcony and tasteful furnishings. Drinks and cold towels on arrtival and "signing in" was done whilst relaxing on a settee in the lounge. No standing at the reception counter after a journey on a very hot day - a really nice touch. Whilst this is a very large hotel, staff still manage to convey a feeling that you are genuinely welcome. In fact, I would say that although the hotel surroundings are absolutely superb, Dhevamatra,s biggest asset are its staff who are friendly, helpful and always willing to help to ensure that you get the best out of your stay. The Manager arranged a boat trip for us which left from the Hotel Pier and was extremely good value at 800 baht for over two hours (very speedy longtail boat which covers a lot of distance in no time at all - exhillerating and real fun. Kids would love it! There is loads to see in Kanchunaburi and environs. We are going back to stay at the Dhevamantra again a months time! I would encourage anyone to take the opportunity to stay at an hotel which will without doubt become very well known as a gem in this part of beautiful Thailand.

Third time to Kanchanaburi and U Inchantree kanchanaburi hotel is the best. Nice, well maintain hotel by the river just 5 mins walk to the bridge over river kwai and local restaurants. The room is very clean and comfortable and is surrounded by a nice garden. Set sun view by the river is very beautiful. The staffs are friendly and they provide great breakfast. A good place to relax and appreciate the peacefulness of the river kwai, especially early in the morning and during sun set.

Very nice hotel with very friendly staff. Easy check-in and check-out. Breakfast by the river with nice views. I have been here for short breaks before and the location is perfect for the bridge and the railway station. This would be my preferred hotel in Kanchanaburi. A quiet location a short walk to the restaurant and bar area at the bottom of the road. This time, I traveled by bus from Bangkok Sai Tai Mai (100 THB per person, about 2.5 hour journey) and then took a Songthaew from the bus station to the hotel (150 THB for 2 people for the convenience and travel distance to the hotel).

My husband and Iwere looking for comfortable accommodation in Kanchanaburi. We chose Mida resort because of genuine site. The hotel offers a shuttle service from the bus station in Kanchanaburi, but you must contact the resort about your wishes.. When we arrived at the hotel...OMG... I can assure you that we remain speechless ... this is paradise on earth. The surrounding area is decorated to every detail ... everything smells of jasmine, landscape perfectly organised, romantic, the rooms are clean and comfortable, breathtaking pools, evening walks are like dream... I have traveled a lot, but such beauty is rarely seen. If I tell you I had tears in my eyes, when we were leaving, vouldit be enough? Restaurant-the food is great,not expencive at all, English is a little problem, but you can ask for the present English speaking manager, which is extremely friendly and helpful, he will help you. He asked us about our staying, about our ideas,.Amazing person.. ... if I only had the opportunity to return to this paradise! I am speechlees, this place - you must see !!!

When you like nature, and back to basic for 1 or max.2 nights, this is great! No electric, only oil lamps at night. Good beds (3 per room). Very simple shower, cold water, good western toilet. These floating hotels are in the River Kwai. So romantic, so unique. Just jump in de river and let you float to the last boat, climb on board, walk back and jump again: lot of fun! Food is very good Thai food, set-menu, and breakfast. Very friendly staff. When you visit Kanchanaburi and the River Kwai, it is a must to spend one night here. Can only be reached by boat from Resotel pier, 15 minutes by long-tail boat. Transfer was included in room price. For me the 3 rd time to stay there, everytime with different friends, and they love it!

It's different from other hotel in Kanchanaburi Thailand,you will touch real nature feeling, many of trees in hotel area and good air. You still feel comfortable and private even it have 90 rooms in the hotel. One thing i don't like is the food because chefs cook it for European (i think) then the taste is tasteless not spicy enough for me (i'm Thai). Pricing is ok for the room but for food and drink is quite expensive.

I never write reviews but I have travelled all over Thailand for the best part of 5 years and this is by far the best value hotel I have stayed at. The hotel itself must have been designed by an architect as it has a minimalist yet luxurious feel to it. The amenities are great with a nice pool and even a pool table. There is an amazing coffee shop next to reception and the women is lovely, even made my mother extra cups of tea and was making sure everything was okay. The reception staff were very pleasant too. The hotel is only a few months old I believe but it is immaculate, I hope they maintain it. I have been to Kanchanaburi 3 times now and seen it all done it all kind of thing so probably won't be back but if I do I will stay here 100%.

It's time to get away from busy polluted bangkok and give our self a tread of natural and clean air. Thank you to Agoda that make my trip so easy on search for a nice quality hotel in Kanchanaburi. We departure bangkok on friday evening about 2 hours we get to hotel, the room are ready and it was amazing! every basic thing you thinking it there with a little detail to make you smile of the though of the hotel management. including a very welcome service and a recommendation of what to do in the area. Thank you very much for make our weekend so relax and enjoyable.

On our trip through Thailand we stayed here for one night. The room was clean and comfortable though we decided not to have a room with private pool. The hotel is located some miles outside the city of Kanchanaburi, but the staff does everything to book a cab, a tuk tuk for you or even bring you by themselves to any place in Kanchanaburi. Besides they can give you any possible infotmation about attractions and guided trips around. Also the breakfast was very tasty. Shortly: We were very pleased staying here and if we come to Thailand again, we will stay here again, probably for more than one night :)

This would have to be the pick of hotels in Kanchanaburi. We were very happy with our stay here. We found the location very good with everything we needed nearby. With only a one night stay we hired a motorbike for 1/2 day at 150 tbh to visit all the surrounding sights. Lots of things close by. We found the hotel staff very polite and helpful. The hotel is right in the river.... great views... The pool was very refreshing after a hot day out in the sun. The included breakfast was good. Only negative ( not the fault of the hotel), was the karioke restaurant next door and the terrible singing.. however did finish by about 10pm. We were happy with our stay here and would recommend the hotel, and would definitely stay again.

One of the best hotels, (if not the best) hotel in kanchanaburi. Booked a room with Jacuzzi and beautiful view, breakfast was included and was a good one with many choices. The restaurant was nice and we can order there whole day to the pool. The pool area was great but to less sunbeds. They also have a small gym. I recomend this hotel if you visit or stay in kanchanaburi.

We absolutely loved our stay! Everything about our stay was just magical. It was a shame we could not utilise the outdoor dining section and campfire etc (due to rain) but this could not be helped. It is quite a ride by scooter from Kanchanaburi - so would recommend transfers or riding only if experienced or have a fair bit of time available. Honestly, I could live here.... if you are considering it, just do it.

I booked this place based on reviews and was NOT disappointed... especially when I realized it was directly across the river from the Elephant Haven sanctuary which we came to experience. The river villa we rented was beautifully decorated as were the grounds. The infinity pool and breakfast room overlooking the river and elephant sanctuary were spectacular features as well. We only stayed one night but will definitely return and/or send our visitors to the Tree Tara. This would be a perfect base for exploring the Sai Yok and Erawan areas of Kanchanaburi. Although breakfast was very good, evening dining options are limited. We had a car but it would be nice if there was an on site option.

Beautiful location, nice architecture, overall great experience, only reachable by a 2-kilometer dirt road. Two thoughts though: 1. For a place at this price at least have fresh coffee. Instant coffee doesn't cut it anymore in this beautiful country with a myriad of excellent coffee shops. 2. The owners of this place seem to love dogs, of which we made aware of until deep at night with these sure pretty dogs howling deep into the night. The dogs had their fun, less so us who tried to sleep with open window and enjoy the fresh air. Also, when arriving at a place I usually don't like to be barked at and jumped at by dogs. Beautiful they are! But not at a nice hotel, barking dogs living there should not happen. If a resort praises itself as the ultimate relaxation experience, maybe the owners who are in Bangkok should leave their dogs in Bangkok as well. Or make it a dog hotel!

I need to say that the hotel is located in an awesome spot of Kanchanaburi. The breakfast spot by river Kwai was nice & serene and it is surrounded by many good restaurants & tourist attractions. However, there are recommendations for improvement. 1. Found a cockroach running in my room at night. The staff had it removed very quickly, but that didn’t quite take away our fear of seeing another one. 2. Food at the breakfast buffet was not fresh. I found the fried-rice to be very hard and not edible. Other menus were ok. 3. There are flies (which is normal for the weather). It would be best to have the food covered with something to protect the food from the flies at the buffet line. 4. There were 2 of us, but only 1 keycard was provided. We’ve asked the receptionist, but that’s the hotel policy which we found to be inconvenient for 2 guests to leave/enter the room at different times.

We stayed two nights in this hotel and it has ended up being one of the best hotels we have stayed at during our 3 week trip to Thailand and Cambodia (we have booked different hotel categories, from 17 euros to 100 euros per night). The location is the only negative aspect we can think of, and it is not too bad. It is a 10 minutes tuktuk drive from the center and maybe 1km away from the bridge over the Kwai River. The hotel is nicely decorated, its impeccably clean and the staff are very helpful. The garden is really beautiful, it also has a small pool and its a plesant place to relax in the afternoon or evening. Besides this, the meals offered at the hotel are good enough and reasonably priced. There is also a laundry service and the possibility of booking tours, which is very helpful considering that the hotels location is outside Kanchanaburi town. A great value for money, we strongly recommend to everyone!!!

This was one of our best stays during our trip - the floatin villas are incredible - clean, modern, and very comfortable. It was well worth the time spent to get to kanachanaburi. The staff went over and above, the food was fantastic. Highly recommended... and if you’re on the fence, just do it. You won’t be disappointed. GEt up early to feed the fish in the river, and watch your elephant neighbours get their bath!

Our stray here was great. A little more spoken English by staff would be helpful. Buffet dinner and breakfast was good. The water heater in our room was finicky during the morning hours. It might have been due to heavy usage by other rooms on the raft... Avoid karaoke because they charge WAAAAY too much for Thailand!!! I'd stay here again otherwise, as I can do karaoke in Bangkok!!! :) Go for the river float trip. It's a blast and relaxing!!!

This hotel is situated approx. 25 km north of Kanchanaburi, on the banks of the River Kwai. The location is wonderful and the hotel facilities are excellent for any who wants a quiet get-away. The hotel is large and caters to large groups and bus tours (often with loud music in private banquet rooms), but this is not a serious problem. There is nowhere else to eat nearby, but the hotel restaurant prices are reasonable. However, the food was inconsistent: some good dishes, some poor. The hotel has Internet services (100 baht for 70 minutes), bicycles for rent cheaply, a snooker room, two large and beautiful swimming-pools. The rooms are large, but can be a little run-down: our room had a badly damaged wall, and no attempt had been made to repair it. The bathroom had both a bath-tub and a separate shower. All in all, good value for money -- but you definitely need your own transportation.

we booked this hotel on the net and our first impressions were very positive. the rooms were comfortable, clean and the river view rooms had an amazing view of the river. the main problem is the hotel is full (5 to 10 busses every day) of russian tour groups. we toured thailand not to have russian music playing by the poolside bars. the staff were fantastic, especially in the restaraunt. they all have an amazing service attitude and did an excellant job looking after us. we booked the river longtail boat ride and also booked a spa treatment at the brock valley hot springs spa across the river. unfortunately as we were due to depart the hotel 5 russian tour busses arrived and we had to compete with hundreds of russians all going to the same spa. khun mickey did a wonderful job looking after us there and tried her best to keep the russian hoards from the hot spings we were in. lack of wifi was also a problem. the only place wifi was available was in the lobby but the mozzies were a problem.

I live out out hotels and usually stay in 5 star resorts. When my wife said she had booked a 3 star hotel I was looking for any opportunity to spend 3 times the cost and re-book a 5 star hotel. Upon our arrival I was a little concerned as the building doesn't look exciting from the outside. The staff on checkin were awesome. The rooms are better than most 4 star hotels in Bangkok and there is almost a 5 star quality to the build. We booked a deluxe for the night and decided to stay extra nights as the rooms were so nice. The pool at night looks great, the staff were really helpful and kind, the breakfast was good. We rented bikes for 50 bht per day from the hotel :) I would recommend this hotel to any like minded snob who normally stays in branded hotels. Glory hotel has great people and its great value. My only slight negative is their is no lift and that I like really soft beds and the mattress is medium. But thats a personnel preference. This should be labeled 4 star in agoda.

The best part for me was the very clean, very nice 25 meter swimming pool, especially important as the temperature in Kanchanaburi was about 6 degrees Celcius hotter than Bangkok during Songkran! The food was very good and reasonably priced too. The gardens are very well tended to, very beautiful. The river view is also very nice. Slightly negative side: the Internet requires an annoying username and password signup and you have to get a new password every day, and it doesn't work everywhere (weak in the bedroom). The beds are very hard (and we live in Thailand - so we are accustomed to hard beds..). The breakfast does not include coffee, and the coffee we ordered was not very good (don't bother). I would rather pay a tiny bit more and get real juice, good coffee, etc.. But since they cater mostly to Thai people, that's understandable. There is nothing near the hotel (about 12K to the city), which is both good and bad. Only a corner shop and a major road within walking distance, so either bring your own car or rent a scooter (500 bhat per day) so you can see places (Erawan, etc). We will probably come back.

Great location right on the River Kwan, within easy reach of the famous bridge, Kanchanaburi and an easy drive to other tourist locations. Hotel is very clean and very neat. Rooms are spacious with nice views, comfortable bed, modern bathroom with good shower. Wi-Fi excellent. The gardens are immaculate, nice just to wander through and sit and enjoy. At night time very tastefully lit up with different coloured mood lighting. Staff very polite and very friendly. Only one thing stopped me from giving five stars for everything. The buffet breakfast was a bit short-staffed, certain items were out very early on, and only one person on duty and he seemed more interested in his phone than in tidying and wiping the dirty tables. The only let-down in an otherwise perfect few days stay. I will return
