Rishikesh hotels & places to stay

Big Thank's to Sonu, Shiva and Raj, plus the rest of the staff here. I wasn't there long but I was make to feel welcome and at home in their guest house. There are renovations going on at the moment but they are not intrusive or disturbing. Sonu gave me a tour of what's going on and I'll guarantee that it'll soon be No. 1 in Rishikesh. All I'll say is get in quick and book to stay here, if you don't you may miss out. Thanks Guy's and keep the Chai hot and flowing.

We stayed a few days in Rishikesh. The Shiv Shakti Guesthouse is a great choice if you look for a nice clean place in good location. The value for money is really good. Nitin, the owner of the place who was once a traveler as well will support you with everything you need. You will find him almost everyday in the Hotel to check if every guest is ok or needs something special. I've been in many hotels in India, but that one got an extremely nice personal touch! book it!

Staff in this hotel is so nice and helpful whatever you need information or help the provide with best possible attitude. We rented scooter got flat tyre some 15 km from hostel in middle of nowhere and receptionist came with new tyre and fixed everything. I highly recommend this jostel to everyone as it has everything you wish cleanliness, best hospitality and beutiful facility with new rooms.

Live Free was an great hostel to stay at for a solo traveler - I purposely stayed at a hostel to meet other travelers and have a sense of safety. I had a private room which was clean, had hot water, and even AC! The price was VERY affordable and stayed there the whole 2 weeks while in Rishikesh. Staff were helpful and kind, location was perfect, and great company from all over the globe. The BEST part were the balconies - no matter the weather (it was HOT) you could hang outside and watch and listen to the streets and even catch amazing thunder and lightening shows. Few steps from many great cafes/restaurants and they also had a great place to hang out and cafe onsite. Fantastic stay and highly recommend !

As their saying, they would do their best to satisfy guest's need. In India, Indian treat guest as god, so they are so hospital. I stayed 2 nights, they really helpt me a lot. They cook very delicious chicken, just charged a little money, but I ate three plates of that!!! Really like owner Akii and employee there, they are so friendly and cute. It's definitely good place for backpackers and solo travelers. Fully recommend!!! 😘

Bunk Stay is a newer hostel in Laxman Juhla with awesome views of the town and Ganges from the terrace that includes a good restaurant. Dorm and bathroom were kept very clean during my extended stay. Bunk beds are adequate but a bit noisy. Full size locker and hot water were welcome. Wifi is dodgy as is the norm in these parts. Hostel is perched on a hillside so it's a bit of a workout up many steps or steeper pathways to get there from the main road, but the excellent view and peaceful environment away from the hubbub of town was worth it for me. Friendly staff and management as well. One of the best hostels I've stayed at in India and highly recommended if you are in Rishikesh.

I recommend you this home stay from the bottom of my heart. The family has become my family now. They are so loving and caring. Mammi cookes delicious food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their chai is perfectly balanced and comes in the cutest cups. Ajju, the son, gives morning yoga class and I recommend you this no matter what level you’re on in your yoga practice, Ajju will help you progress. He is very professional and brings laughter to the class too. Best way to start the day! The place is very nice and clean. The area is beautiful and quiet. Short walk to whatever you need. I would love to keep staying here <3

The room was ok. No air conditioning and only a small window so the room was quite warm at night. Our fault though for not checking if they had ac before we booked. Quiet except for ongoing construction nearby. Hard to find as it was on a little street off the main road with the signage to guide guests to the hotel. Staff was nice but spoke very little English and would not order a taxi for us. Said they didn't have the number. The location is great with many shops and cafes. Check out Zorbas Organic Cafe and Chatsang coffee cafe. Both were really good. Close the Ganges. Cheap.

The best thing about this hotel is the inexpensive price. The room was not great at all. Very dirty and the toilet had not been cleaned. It had a ceiling fan but no air con. There was 24 hour hot water, and also the tables and chairs on the balcony were a nice place to hang out. No wifi in the room. The walk into town was about 10 minutes, but the hotel is located in a little cluster of shops and restaurants of its own. It's very quiet, which is a nice break in India! If you are looking for a cheap room and nothing more, this isn't bad.

We four of us ( two couples aged between 50 & 60)selected two rooms in this hotel though online booking.The booking is so simple & AGODA is so dependable and they assure the accommodation. We stayed for three nights, and most of the time we relaxed,by sitting in the sit-out of first floor by enjoying the adjacent stream of water flowing from top of hill. The sound of flowing water is so pleasant to our ear and the natural beauty of the stream is beyond words.We play games like chess, Carr um board sitting in the sit-out portion.We dined in the same sit-out area, in totally a natural and fine atmosphere.We went out in our car to nearby places, like Ram Jula,Lakshman Jula, Thiriveni ghat, & other temples and Aashrams.The food was tasty and it is served in a timely manner. The hotel has Yoga teaching hall with competent masters. In totality, the stay in Rishkesh Sadan is memorable and we are completely satisfied.

This is a nice and clean place in Tapovan. Its location is good and the owner very helpful. In walking distance to the bridge over Ganga and yoga studios, temples, shops, etc. IMPORTANT - From Rishikesh to Tapovan you could get on a shared rickshaw for about 20 rupees. Same fare from Rishikesh bus stand. Do not pay more than that as the rickshaw drivers will tell you many stories and will try to charge you lots. Also do not fall for scams that the train does not stop in Haridwar so they could sell you expensive taxis.

The property is near main road so dont expect quiet atmosphere,they also have dogs witch regularly bark at night and my room had a leaking water problem from the toilet. Cleanliness was below average with stained sheets,bathroom looked run down and also dont expect garden to be like in the pictures. There was only one small sitting area much use in front of main entrance,there is no balcony,just lifted platform in front of the rooms where people walk all the time,so dont expect to get much use of the garden. Safety is generally good with a their own gate,nut i would recommend bringing your own lock. Staff was generally good and front desk boy talked good english and very polite. I didnt attend any of their yoga related programs,so cant say much about it,but i would say its maybe forth a looking into it. This kind of the room should cost no mere then 500 rupies and you can get exactly that near Ram Juhla bridge at yoga village,witch is a place with many different guest houses.

We stayed for one month in this hotel. The Holiday Home hotel is well situated near laxman jhula (5 min walk) in a quiet area. Lots of small shops, restaurants and atm's are nearby. The wifi is a bit slow, but it works most of the time. The staff is amazing! They help you in every situation. If you want to stay for a long term, book only 1-2 nights and then talk to the staff. We can recommend the hotel!

This place seemed like it was brand new and super clean. The wifi and air con may have been the best we had in India. The location was fantastic as it was a 10 minute walk to town and Laxman Jhula bridge, but not in the center of all the hippies. The rooftop restaurant for breakfast was awesome (Indian breakfast was perfect) and there is another very nice restaurant Pure Soul right around the corner which is very good as well. Perfect place for us after an ashram stay, as it is probably one of the nicest places to stay in Rishikesh or Tapovan area.

This was my second stay in Rishikesh and at Hill Top. I am convinced it is the best place to stay in Rishekesh. The hotel is located in the high bank precinct,a peaceful area to meet travellers from all walks of life. The area has a village like feel and both bridges (the two main attractions) are only a short stroll away. There are several good restaurants in the area as well as massage parlours, (much cheaper that closer to either bridge)general stores, a fantastic travel agency 'swiss travel tours' who have expert knowledge of the area and will happily assist and inspire you for many adventures! The hotel has its own yoga hall and twice daily classes with a highly skilled teacher. In my 5 week stay, i never had an issue with hot showers and the hotel has back-up electricity, which i was told was a rarity. Free, fast and reliable wifi yippie! The hotel rooms are fresh large and clean with a huge private balcony overlooking the mountains. There is also a rooftop (which i took full advantage of!) where you can have small gatherings, soak up the sun or read a book. By far the thing that stands out from my stay at hill top is the impeccable service and welcoming and friendly approach of the staff, particularly the owner. I could really see that he put his heart and soul into making sure guests were comfortable and enjoying their stay. He went above and beyond in accommodating guests requests. I made many friends at Hill Top, many of which extended their stay because they enjoyed it so much... only con is that it is hard to leave!

We booked just for one Night. Appartment is located in a clossed area with quard, which is really nice. The only noise is a small stream outside. The flat is new and convinient. We decided to stay and unfortunately, the flat was allready let to somebody else. The owner had another flat in the same Complex. Older flat, but great, which We enjoyed a lot during the next three days. Our stay in Rishikesh was great due to the nice and silent place We lived. Close to Laxman Jhula. Good value for money. I believe it will be difficult to find something better. Our Best recommandations.

I stayed in Hotel Madhusudan for almost a month. Manish and the other staff always were very friendly and available and my room was cleaned regularly. Very high standard for India. I recommend booking Ganga facing rooms. Unfortunately only the street facing rooms have balcony. The view from rooftop is nice, however it's not a place made for hanging out (no seating possibilities). Location is great, center of Laksman Jhula (Shopping area of Rishikesh) with tons of restaurants and cafes around. Lively nightlife on the weekend. I recommend staying in Hotel Madhusudan.
