"For a long weekend in Rome, as the airport train comes direct to the main station, I concluded that finding a nearby hotel would save time wasted in traveling. The Strombooli hotel is right outside the station & unlike many hotels in that part of Rome is a proper hotel, not just a converted floor in an apartment block. The area around the atation isn't the nicest area of Rome, but as it is at the connection of both metro lines & next to the bus station, you can get anywhere in the city fairly easily. The room I had was fairly average - It had the facilities I needed, but nothing amazing. Breakfasts at the hotel were buffet style & had a good range of options. Staff there were always friendly & helpful. I would definitely consider this hotel for another trip to Rome in future."
