Where to stay in Rome
Rome hotels & accommodations
This was my first time using agoda, and I'm extremely satisfied. The hotel looked exactly like the pictures, and I found other reviews to be true to my experience. All the hotel staff was extremely helpful and thoughtful. I visited other cities during my trip to Italy, so I had two reservations for this hotel in Rome. When returning for my second reservation, the hotel...
We loved our stay in this modern/minimalist hotel in Rome, we were so impressed that we want to return when we next visit Rome again. Its a beautiful hotel with a minimalist design. I loved the shower and the toiletries, so modern! The staff are very helpful and the breakfast was delicious from the buffet and the dining room is really cool! We just loved this place. Ju...
First of all, very satisfied with this price and quality. Staff were very kind and room is quite big and new. I stayed another Rome hotel 2days, very traditional but also old so felt kind of not clean and uncomfortable. Compared with that stay and this hotel, Smooth hotel is very satisfied with new system and clean condition. Besides there is near to station and bus st...
Location is remarkable as it is only around 5mins walk from Roma Termini. Breakfast spread is delightful, comes with many options. Room is clean, has toiletries. Alessandro from reception is very patient with our inquiries/ requests. He even agreed to move us to another room when the bidet was leaking. A recommended hotel in Rome, will definitely stay there again!
located only 5 min walk from the termini(main train station in rome)which is quite convenient when leaving from rome to other cities. staying in the termini area will save you quite some money for taxi or bus fare. room is nice and clean, although like all hotels i stayed in italy, all smelled like maldew. i guess it has something to do with their weather. for the p...
Best hotel in Rome if you are after a modern space and good service from staff. Location is great for access to Termini Station, the area is a bit more typical of the real experience of Rome yet as Rome is a walking city it is still within in reach of all attractions.
My husband and I stayed 8 nights at the Rome Times Hotel. I searched endlessly online to find a hotel in our budget that was a short walk from many iconic Rome locations and museums, and had a breakfast option. The modern look and feel was also important to me. I was pleasantly surprised to find our room had a king bed and rain shower in the bathroom. I've stayed i...
Well situated with a 10 min walk to the Spanish Steps in one direction and Colosseum in the other in addition to plenty of shopping and dining options right out the door. We stayed 3 nights pre-cruise and 1 post and found Rome Glam a fantastic launching point for exploring Rome. Hotel was clean and comfortable and the rooftop restaurant and outdoor bar provided a gre...
We began and ended our tour of Italy at this hotel. When we returned we were welcomed back as cherished guests. The staff at this hotel rushed to take our luggage and gave us a tour of the hotel and our room upon arrival. They were so incredibly friendly with directions and recommendations for local food and attractions. The rooms were spacious and clean with beautiful...
This hotel was the BEST find in Rome. I stayed here with my parents for 5 nights while vacationing to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, The excellent customer service started before our arrival. I communicated with the hotel via email in advance and they were able to took all of our dinners in advance, provided the best advice about how to reach the hotel fr...
Ecce Roma Suites was wonderful hotel with even better staff! When we checked in, we were given their biggest room (Room 6). It was massive with a huge living room and doors that close off the bedroom. Was the perfect room for entertaining. The bathrooms are very modern with a great shower! The hotel was across the street from the police station which was a little comfo...
i recently stayed with my partner at the starhotel metropole in rome. from the moment we arrived we were made very welcome. while booking in at reception the gentleman dealing with our booking on hearing that our visit was a very special occasion to celebrate my partners 50th birthday we were without hesitation upgraded to a classic delux room which we really apprecia...
Spent three nights here over Valentine's and both agreed the hotel was located in the nicest part of Rome. All the well known places of interest were within comfortable walking distance and we had our best meals only hundreds of yards from the hotel. The staff were very friendly, accommodating and helpful and our trip would definitely not have been as enjoyable withou...
I would like to thoroughly recommend this hotel, the service we received was exemplary from start to finish, we had a room upgrade on arrival and they even delivered us a complimentary bottle of Prosecco on your first night as it was our first time in Rome. Keep up the good work!! Very good!!
Hotel Diana Roma Rooftop Garden is THE BEST hotel, ever. When I first arrived in Rome, this is the first hotel which I stayed in, for 4 nights. I wanted to extend my stay here, but they were fully-booked so I had to leave. The views from the rooftop garden of this hotel are simply breathtaking. And that makes up for the not-so-impressive views from some of the bedroo...
A great hotel in Rome. About a 10 minute walk (without bags) from Termini train station, and the same distance from 2 metro stops. Giulia on reception was very warm and welcoming. The hotel is renovated in a simple modern style. Not fancy, but very cleanly presented. Hotel rooms in Italy are typically small and this one is no exception but there was room for our 2 suit...
Booked a very last minute trip to Rome, and, the Artemide Hotel. For first time visitors to Rome, this hotel was in a great location on a main thoroughfare. It had easy access to Termini (train station) and the metro, as well as, taxis when needed. It was also within walking distance (a nice hike with good walking shoes) to historic attractions, as well as, groceries...
best location in rome. you could find all public transportation such as train, metro, tram and bus station just few blocks away. although the room is a little bit samll, but it is usual. it is almost impossible to find a big room hotel in rome. the breakfast is adequate and the room is clean with comfortatble bed. it will be more attractive and easier for customer to...
The staff is unbelievably accommodating, welcoming, and friendly. I came to Rome with the misperception that it was going to be brutal, this place immediately changed that thought upon first impression. We stayed at the Independent Suites (a few doors down), but had complete access to all facilities (free water, hotel lobby/sitting area, 24hr front desk help, baggage h...
My friend and I booked a superior cabin for three nights here to start our Italian adventure. At first we were worried about the location and getting to and from the city but it was relatively easy. There is a supermarket across the road, a tour desk inside the grounds, a ticket machine for bus/train tickets, but best of all for us, it was quiet in our part of the camp...
I have been to rome several times and each time I have been disappointed by the upscale boutique hotels I have stayed at (overpriced tiny rooms). I couldn't contain my delight when I arrived at Rome Style Hotel. When i made the booking, the hotel hadn't opened yet so I was simply expected another tiny room in a good location but new. The location is perfect, in a sm...
We scoured the Rome hotels on offer through Agoda and found the Best Western President Hotel to be the best value for money in the area we wanted. We're from Australia and we're used to superior 4* hotels and whilst the Best Western President is listed as a 4* property in our opinion it's not. A good 3+* yes. It's in a great location, the beds are comfy and the bathroo...
Absolutely enjoyed our 2 nights here. They provide Twinnings Tea and coffee (which many hotels in Rome don’t!). They provide a kettle too! I’m extremely thankful for that as we can sip our teas! Plus point: spacious and clean toilet! That’s really important for us. The bed isn’t one of the best, but it’s bigger than expected. Thankful for that too! The room is kin...
The hotel, like many small hotels in Rome, is located within a large multipurpose building. The hotel itself and the sleeping rooms are beautifully furnished with well appointed bathrooms, international televisions, and great beds. Of particular note is the service and attention provided by the manager, Rodel.
Rome is the first place we start visiting Italy , this hotel brings us a good start. Feel very safe, clean , quiet while at the center of the city . Transportation is very convenient , just right beside bus / metro station . The most important is beside Rome terminal, so we can catch the train to the next destination -Florence, very easy for time -controlling. The br...
agoda aloud us to over book, but the hotel con acted us straight away and offered us a suit i there sister hotel only 5 mins away there service was amazing. they emailed us with all the information on how to get there via the airport bus, train ect... then when leaving the gave us all the information we needed to get to our next destination. the place we stayed was wrh ...
Really loved this place.. This looked like quite a new or at least fully renovated place. No lift, but that is expected with most hotels in Rome where the buildings are a tad old, and we were only on 3rd floor anyway. The hotel had a very nice interior, white modern feel, sleek but still classy. It felt very clean, the bathroom fixtures were excellent, the bed was so n...
The hotel was well decorated compared to a lot of outdated decors found in other hotels in Rome. The staff was amazing and very kind and able to help. It was a smaller boutique hotel, there’s a lot of restaurants near by. Not in the high touristy part of Rome which was calmer and nice. It took me about a 10-15 min walk to get to the Spanish steps or near the touristy p...
Delighted that they upgraded our room and on the 5th floor with a garden view. The room is spacious, clean with classic wardrobe/cabinets, chandelier and furnitures. I would def...
Location - Brilliant - 2 minute walk to the central station - access to metro (duomo 6 minutes away) and cross country trains (i took the train to Rome) . walking to the duomo 35-40 mins. Cheap places to stay in Rome
They were really nice at sant Lorenzo guest house . The guy on charge helped me all the time even before I arrive to Rome. He gave me all the indications to get to the hostel and he was really nice! We got sangria for free at night and breakfast :) we were listen to music and partying with other people and I got a great time . Rooms were clean and bathroom as well! Cl...
We stayed with our one year old daughter in a private double bed room (not the one shown in the picture). Small room but quite comfortable for our short stay. Within easy walking distance to Roma Termini and all other attractions in Rome. Mr Walter is a very helpful man. We would recommend this guesthouse for anyone who has a budget and looks for value of money for a s...
Finding the building was near impossible. We were unable to call the number the hotel had listed as their contact number. We kept getting "the number you have called has not responded". Luckily, we came at a time where someone was cleaning up the rooms, and they let us in. The person cleaning then escorted us a few blocks away to another "office". We then were ask...
They also asked for extra 3.5 Euros/ night they said it is city tax which was not indicated at the time I booked.
A little bit out of town but close to the metro which is very easy to navigate. Sergio was great, treated me like part of the family! Would stay again.
I have been in many places, this hotel is best so far, staff and cleanliness. you really will forget some angry Italians which you met during the day and your see beautiful Itlaians (staff) when you get back to the hotel. I recommend as 5 stars hotel, I don't care about TV or somebody open the door for you and another one close it. Love and I will recomened it always. ...
The only thing I feel okay was location. The left was unpleasant. Private room is not recommended because it's in another building. Not to far but why i have to cross the street for breakfast and kitchen. For room; the lock and key to the room was terrible. hard to open. Hot water was out of order for a whole trip my friends and I stayed in rome. Maybe my expectation's...
I feel that the hotel near everything of Rome, such as: next Roma termini, can walk to Trevi, Pantheon, .... Clean, confortable bed, small room but having all you need, small canteen. only 1 dislike is garbage place at ground floor.
beautifull location.when i reached there weather was very hot.they served me a very cold drink.hotle is very nice i liked the rooms condition big and clean. staff is very kind and helping. prices of this hotle are very good in a big and expensive city like rome. overall a nice hotle for staying.........
Booked this place for a night in Rome so that we could look around this city. Wasn't expecting much since it was a hostel but this had way exceeded my expectations! It is 3 mins walking distance from the terminal and all other attractions are also within walking distance. So location is great. The staff was sincerely helping us and wanting to plan our trip in Rome and ...
A ten minute walk from the Rome terminus station and the hotel is on the second floor and easy to find, although if you Google the location of the hotel it is more accurate than Agoda. The room was ok apart from the ensuite which was really a wet room and very small, however I was given the option to use another small wet room adjacent to my room which was better. Howe...
I was actually really worried about staying here as I read the reviews after I had booked. Our own stay was a really good experience. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious for a family of five and even had a small balcony. We were on the top floor (room no 38 I think? 2 double beds, 1 single bed and lots of space with a small bathroom/s...
I booked this hotel well kniwing of its bad reviews. To be honest i would probibly cancell it if i havent paid up front.but i am so glad i stayed there, great value for money! Excellent service, clean room and big bathroom. Also had a small bathtub. I had a nice room on the end of the haal in one of the upper floors. Those who complains about this hotel first of all ha...
I went to Rome for the first time and I booked after a thorough research I booked this hostel. Why did it require thorough research? Answer: 1) This hostel has AC which operates from 7-8pm till 8am. Is AC a big deal? Trust me Yes, you won't find AC in Rome in several places like metro, restaurants and hostels. 2) It is close to train station Termini. 3)bathrooms were ...
I liked the location very much! Landed in Rome, reached Roma termini and this place was walkable with the huge luggage. Rooms were good, so were the staff. The kitchen could have been cleaner. Stayed in a mixed dorm, cool roommates . Wasn't much luggage storage space, couldn't fit in my huge bags, though enough for backpackers
The place is well organized, you can leave you luggage and locke keys are available at the reception (2euros) for the whole stay also you can acquire lockers at the same price however you have to provide you own locks.. Its an strategic location if you want to roam around rome, nearby trains and bus are available. Supermarket are juat opposite the hotel, other good ...
The stay was great. We moved here for the last night in Rome from another hotel 300m away that sucked. For less the price, this place was absolutely better. The room was bid and spacious, there was internet in the common area and although the staff said that there would be no internet in the room, the signal reached the room no prob.
I really loved that I'm just need to walk few metres from Termini and I found my hotel room. The staff was kind when I checked in, I riceived a coupon for the breakfasts. The room was really big and well-equipped (TV,dvd, mirrors, chairs, airconditioner). I was also liked the breakfast in the nearest bar, it was a typical italian breakfast, the coffee was excellent there. ...
My husband and I went on our first international trip and we stayed in this hotel in Rome. We read great reviews prior to booking and we were not disappointed when we actually stayed there. The staff were amazing and very helpful. They gave great tips of places to visit which you would not get in the common tour packages and as well as the best places to eat. The loca...
it was more of a 2* hotel then a hostel, centrally located, a bit noisy as it is next to train station, but rest all good.
Wonderful and memorable stay. It is very close to public transport. Will definitely stay in this hotel when we cone back to Rome.
We only stayed there for one night, but I wish we could've stayed longer. Rome is such a beautiful city with ancient archtectures everywhere. The room is large, clean, the shower room is a bit small but that seems to be the case in Europe. The best thing about this hotel is that it's only 150 meters away from Lepanto subway station so it's easy to acess the city. The h...
Near to Terminal, very kind host.
We had a great stay at Hotel Villa Rosa in April 2016. We were greeted warmly on arrival and the staff were generally very helpful, nothing was too much trouble, even when we asked to change rooms due to traffic noise. The hotel is on a busy road so with open windows there is considerable traffic noise, but not all rooms are as bad so its worth asking to change - our s...
You gotta be adaptable but it has all you need for a cheap vacation in rome...i loved it.
The sirens keep you up if you left your window open First 4 days were great but last two nights not as good. We all shared 2 bathrooms with other guests and they were clean everyday but the last group that moved in were sloppy and bathroom floor was always wet had to wear your shoes to go in. But that was not the staffs fault. They did there best. It’s just one of th...
Super kind and friendly staff, newly renovated modern an luxurious rooms, they even prepared a take away breakfast when we needed to leave at 4am. Such a contrast with our other "3-star" hotel in Rome. Extremely recommended!!
This is a bare bones hostel. If you want a towel it costs 3 euros. Bath is down the hall. Minimal mattress. Staff was helpful. They booked our taxi to Ciampino airport for 5:00am. Beware of booking early flights from this airport. The bus starts running at 5:30am. Cabs are 20 euros. Having said all that. It was easy to check in and take the train back into Rome....
we stayed in this hotel for few days in Rome. The location is good, close to a tram stop taking you to the city town. The room itself was ok, there was no bathtub as showed on the website, this information would need to be revised. The staff was kind and available, the reception is at disposal 24hrs. The heater is on only until the evening at 22:00 (if i remember we...
Bit dubious about booking 2* hotel in Rome but found Adriatic Hotel perfectly acceptable base to explore Rome. Prices and star ratings can be a bit misleading in Rome. We picked this hotel mainly for it proximity to Vatican and other famous historical locations. We did not use any transport as more can be seen from walking. A handy map given by reception was useful.We...

The room was perfect, the hotel on the outside seemed a bit old but the rooms were absolutely perfect. Open, spacious, and well lit. We stayed for six days in a junior suite, booked independently. The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and efficient throughout, always going the extra mile. Breakfast good, typical Italian but with a few nods ...
Donna Camilla Savelli is the best place we stayed in Rome, this was our 4th visit. Great location, beautiful rooms and the best breakfast we ever had, served in a tranquille elegant formal garden. Very modern and was exceptionally clean. Lovely room but a little smaller than what we are used to staying in. Higher end bathroom amenities with large soft towels. Good water pressure. We loved the Monti Palace. We felt it was great value for the money, and it had all the style and convenience of a modern hotel. Wifi, AC, mini-fridge, tea kettle, coffee service, free breakfast, and was walking distance to the Termini Rome rail station, and the Colosseum among other things. It is in the heart of Rome. We'd stay there again!
I was very impressed with the amazing hospitality of Fabrizio (I am sorry if I got your name wrong, he is the front desk staff who checked us in on the 2nd of April), and the room quality of Gioberti Art hotel! was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. most of the 4-star hotels in rome look old and run-down, but iq hotel was new, had modern and funky decor. the staff were very helpful, and the hotel had full facilities which included numerous vending machines, laundry room, business center and gym. the breakfast was average but was great value (at only euros per head for full ...
Stayed 1 night before an early morning flight from Rome Fiumicino airport but wish we could have stayed longer. So much better than most Rome hotels we've stayed in, at least in our price range. This place is a great find with good restaurants within walking distance.

If you want to reward yourself, or a loved one, this is the ultimate place to stay. Remember this is a Palace in its own right -so expect wow factor from its rooms, steps, artwork, and over all history. Just returned from our 4 night stay. It was one of the best places i have ever stayed at. Location is amazing, walking distance to all that Rome has to offer. Free parking which helped us as we had a car. Great breakfast with plenty of fresh and yummy options. The room was so big and specious, set out in traditional Italian style and super clean. But the best thing abo...
Got to Agoda through TripAdvisor. Seemed like an unusual name but was rated really well so we gave it a shot. Down a rather unlikely alley but nice front entrance. They sit you down in a small office to check in and bring you a glass of proseco. Nice. Lots of interesting and quirky art. We had a standard premium room which was nice albeit rather small. Fabulous looking...
I travel extensively & have to say I have a preference for Relais Chateau properties. This hotel is very well positioned & one of the best locations in Rome. The apartments are beautifully decorated & spacious & we stayed in the Marcus Aurelius suite. The real differences of this hotel is the staff, Christine at the front desk was incredible in how she accommodated eve...
Hotel looked really great and was really nice in overall. Spa was like heaven on earth after long walks in the city and the staff there made it even better! The man at the reception and the bartender were the most professional people there and they genuinely wanted us to feel comfortable. Rooms were kept clean and the air conditioning was amazing (the room was approxim...
Rooms were fairly spacious for Rome. Hotel is on a quiet street in a central location to all the sites. Staff was helpful. Breakfast was fresh and delicious.
If you're looking for a luxurious experience in Rome, Hotel Splendide Royal is the place to go. On our second night at the hotel, they provided essential oils and bath salts complimentary for guests who've enjoyed 'a long day at the Eternal City'. It's also a 5 minute walk to the beautiful Villa Bourghese. When we told taxi drivers to go to 'Via di Porta Pin...
Beautiful hotel on the street with the poshest hotels in the city. The area around the bar is stunning! Probably one of the best properties in Rome. 5 minutes walk from the Spanish steps. Large rooms with equally large washrooms. (not European standard to my relief!) Our room had a balcony as well. Reception staff is curt, concierge team is very sweet (not amazing w...
What a sensational hotel - our second time at this property and again we were not disappointed. If anything the property has improved since becoming part of the Star Hotel group. Super location / great staff / well appointed and large rooms in the middle of room. 3 minutes to the Spanish steps and in an upmarket shopping area of Rome. Thank you guys we will be back...
Hotel is stunning in a fantastic location. We booked as it was one of the only places in Rome with an outdoor pool, so happy we did! The only downside was the noise until 1am due to an event in the pool area, the staff were very accommodating to try and rectify the issue but it was an issue non the less. Should there have been no events on we would not have been abl...
Our first time in Rome, the nice staffs made it like home. We were upgraded to a room with a long balcony towards the street, you know, it is Rome, I never expect you could have a room with such layout and new design, what's more, you could see the Piazza Venezia directly just right there! So nice! After the 1st day, I started to realize how wonderful the hotel's locat...
Incredible hotel!! Old world elegance and charm - with the best pool in Rome, an amazing gym and truly professional staff!
We were in Rome as tourists. The hotel was closed to a number of tourist attractions. It was also only a walking distance to the Metro station. They offered a nice BBQ dinner at the roof top restaurant in the summer. The food was nice and the cool breeze in the summer night was a great after a hot summer day of walking. The only issue that I had found during my stay ...
its a pleasant stay although very far from tourist area (closest will be the Vatican) which can be reach in 15 minutes by a cab. we are used to centrally located hotel in rome cavalieri is not as what we expect. but all and all its a very luxurious hotel. cant believe I'll get to stay in a large room in Italy.
I would highly recommend this cosy and beautiful place in the very heart of Rome! High speed service, friendly, cheerful and helpful staff. Definitely my hotel for next Roman holiday
We stayed in a prestige / deluxe room. The only negative was that there is no view from the window as it was overlooking sort of courtyard / building but for a city hotel that meant it was extremely quiet which was a definite positive. We were not far from the Trevi fountain and situated well forbid most areas which were readily accessible by taxi ! Would definite...
The rooms were very dated and run down. The shower drain was clogged and the basin would fill with water anytime we used it. We called down twice to complain but no one bothered to follow up and do anything. The food on the rooftop restaurant was the worst meal we had in Rome and incredibly over priced for the quality. Not the kind of food you would expect at a hotel t...
I took my elderly mother to Rome from 11th to 15 th December. We literally had a perfect stay at the Grand Hotel De La Minerve. The location of this hotel is second to none. The Pantheon is steps away and other major sites such as Trevi Fountain (although currently being renovated), Spanish Steps, Piazza Venezia and the Colesseum where short strolls away. The lobby of ...
The property is being refurbed and it needs it! Bedrooms v tired. We didn’t notice and warning of the refurb works on the agoda booking site but it meant they had few rooms available. I’m sure it will be great when done. Not the most glamorous location but fairly central and good for the train to the airport.
best hotel i have ever stayed in. staff all incredibly helpful and friendly. lovely rooms. great restaurant. nice terraced garden at back of hotel. good location in centre of rome - 30 min walk to vatican one way and 30min to colloseum the other. one minor gripe is charge for internet access - should be free at this nightly rate. just a minor complaint as otherwise abs...
We spent 2 nights in this wonderful hotel. On the second night we were joined by a friend making up a party of 3 . They moved us to a lovely suite. The restaurant across the road is superb and the Osteria around the corner is also brilliant. The only downside is that you have to pay for wifi. Having stayed in 2 other hotels in Rome, this is my favourite and is walking d...
Very pleasant but I would pay more attention to selection of food at breakfast. Too much pork and my group of 13 staying there don't eat it
We ventured to Rome for our 20th wedding anniversary and are very pleased to have chosen this hotel. The rooms are exquisite! The hotel has managed to achieve a modern rooms with a roman flair. The reception is tastefully decorated, again you are aware you are in Rome but it is modern, fresh and fabulous. The rooms are huge by European standards, offering nespresso c...
Beautiful contemporary hotel in a ideal location. Set in a pretty cobbled street behind a main road the hotel is in a great location for exploring this beautiful city. The hotel staff are welcoming and very helpful. The roof terrace was fortunately still open at the end of October and is a beautiful area for an end of the day drink. We thoroughly enjoyed the use of t...
We were very careful about your choice of accommodation since we were in Rome for the first time with my family. We completed 4 nights of our 1-week holiday by staying at this facility. Camelia was very helpful, very meticulous, friendly person, she gave us the details of where to go, how to travel, meticulously helped us with our subsequent stay and transportation. ...
I stayed at the Lifestyle Suites in Rome with my wife and daughter in 2016. My wife and I returned in 2017 for a 2nd visit. It is a gorgeous hotel and the staff treats you so well. The breakfast was delicious and it was a very enjoyable stay. I plan to come back again in July 2018 for my 3rd visit. I highly recommend the hotel. It may be more expensive than oth...
This is more like s Airbnb, we get a apartment which is near to Colosseum. The apartment looks nice but not very clean, we can see hair and stains on the bedsheets. The cleaning fee €35 and tax € 3.5per pax per night should be mentioned on the website. It’s expensive compare to other city. The transport from the apartment to airports is less than €60 if you go by Tax...

Real reviews for hotels
Rome is lovely. It has plenty of good restaurants, historical sites and of course, a lot of cathedrals and churches that revives your sense of spirituality.
You can do this city in one day. Colleseum in the morning, Vatican/Sistine chapel/St Peters in the afternoon, throw in an evening food tour if you like, then head to one of the other major cities.
Be aware of the people in Vatican. Just ignore them if they said your ticket does not include St. Peter Basilica.
the city of Rome is amazing! the grand piazzas, the exquisite food, the friendly people make Rome such a beautiful city.
A nice city with a lot of historical remaining, arts, architect to discover. Shopping is also great.
Roma just a city with long history, old city with limited development caused can not higher than Vatican tower.
Ancient city with plenty of place of interest to visit. Recommend to buy museum/queue pass online and must book in advance (even with pass and tickets purchased), especially for Vatican and Borghese Gallery.
We loved Rome, just wish we had longer to explore, We did everything we wanted to but it was a bit of a rush.
Wonderful city full of culture and unbelievable history. A bit expensive. The sights are out of this world.
A juxtaposition of dramatic historical architecture and manic modern European city, Rome is full on. Crammed with tourists mingling with elegant Roman residents (easy to tell apart as the Romans were usually slender, poised and elegantly dressed whereas the tourists were usually fat and spoke with American accents) the defining feature once away from the architecture was the traffic.
We had travel a lot and think Rome is one of the most wonderful cities of the world. Is a rich history and culture.
Rome is one of the best cities in the world, you can lose yourself in it - it is wonderful to stroll in the ancient streets, particularly at night.
Beautiful tree lined streets and lots of small quaint shops. Might be a large city but maintains small village charms.
Rome is really easy to get around on foot, but beware of tours to the Vatican and Colosseum as these can take hours to get around so may need to get a taxi to and from depending on where your hotel is.
Good cultural city to visit with many museums easily accessible. Too many pickpockets running around in the city so just be careful.
Have been to Rome a few times now. Loved staying out a little, at Tolonia this time. Having seen the main beautiful tourist places before we opted for the parkland areas and local eateries and bars.
Ancient Rome has a rich history - the monuments are highly additive and fascinating; Beware of street beggars and pickpockets - lots of Italians and its refugees are jobless with or without the economic recession; Visit all monuments / places of interest as early as possible to make full use of your time while in Rome.
Beautiful city, some what overwhelming. Be prepared to queue for cultural sights or pay for guided tours in advance as we did and skip the queues.
Totally geared to tourism as you would expect and the taxi drivers and Others will try and rip you off if given half the chance.
There are a few things to do while in Rome, the main tourist attractions being the Collosseum, Ancient Ruins, The Vatican and chapels.
Watch out for the con artists at the Spanish steps. One rotten mongrel conned my husband into paying for some roses, I chased after him and got some of the money back, but that was the only thing to spoil it for us.
Great place to visit. Very hot. We were there in August of 2015. Temps were near 100 degrees F. The open tour buses were hot and uncomfortable.
It is sometimes difficult to know exactly where you are in Rome as the street names are not always present and sometimes half way down a block.
Rome is a nice place with great food and restaurants. The people are friendly and the weather is nice.
It is very beautiful city with many heritage building collection. Vatican is very impresive and St. Peter Bassilica is the best and beautiful building that i have ever seen.
4th visit and it's still a great city. Very safe, great places to eat, lots of free attractions, lots opportunity to learn.
A walking city (literally) so, if you want to truly explore Rome, bring a good pair of walking shoes.
If you love history and sightseeing this city is a must. Around every corner there is something to see - not just the well known things.
Rome is very romantic city, i love when i was there ... The culture, the building and the history of this city .
Wear comfortable shoes as you may be walking on cobbled surfaces for long distances. Well worth the walk though.
