Sendai hotels & places to stay

I was again impressed with the Hotel Management and Staff at the Front Desk, I was traveling away for a night but returning to Washington Hotel in Sendai. The staff made it easy and stored my extra luggage for free which made it real easy for me to get around. The rooms are clean, the bathroom really nice with a lot of space. It is steps away from everything you might need. This was my first time to Japan, I stayed at several other hotels during my visit, Washington Hotel had the best service.

This was the perfect hotel for my first trip to Sendai. It is located within Sendai Station - very convenient: shops and food choices abound! The staff members were accommodating, even before I arrived. They replied to every inquiry I had via email, and received important parcels on my behalf, which I claimed upon arrival. When I got injured during my outing, they were very helpful, and gave me first aid. The breakfast buffet was great - my favorites were the stew with beef and veggies, the fish (I think it was mackerel), and the strawberry jam. There is only one thing I didn't particularly like - the narrow escalator from the entrance to the reception area, and only because of my luggage. Other than that, everything was wonderful. If I ever return to Sendai, I would surely stay here again :)

This place is truly a hidden gem in Sendai. It doesn't have a fancy facade or anything you might even miss it if you walk past it. Its a no frills type of hotel, yet has everything and more for a comfortable stay. Not only its very close proximity to the main Sendai station, but its wonderfully relaxing public bath and delicious fresh and hot Japanese breakfast are just some of the selling points of this place. Finding places to eat wasn't a problem since there are so many restaurants round the corner from the hotel, even a convenient store as well. We enjoyed our stay here thoroughly and would highly recommend it to anyone. One of the best value for money hotels we stayed in during our trip to Japan.

Very central location, near to Sendai Station and the big malls surrounding it. It had old-timey European decor which was well-maintained and made for a fun experience. The room was quite big by Japan's standards and bright, clean and airy with a beautiful bathroom. There was an onsen on the top floor which boasted iron-rich waters and a view, but it was perhaps a bit more expensive than it was worth because of its small size. The hotel apparently made for a very good wedding location and its chapel was filled with guests in the morning! Overall very nice place to stay, especially at the deal we got on Agoda.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and was so happy with my decision. The hotel is situated in a very convenient location, just across the street from Sendai station. There's a mini-mart downstairs and you have plenty of choices of restaurants around and inside the train stations. A plus side for those travelling with kid is that it's not far from Anpanman Museum! The staff are very attentive and kind. My daughter threw up in the middle of the night, and despite no housekeeper around, the receptionists came to change the bedding for us. The breakfast is also tasty with good variety of food (both Japanese and Western). All in all, I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who looks for accommodation in Sendai.

Stayed one night on a last minute booking that was necessary because another hotel had to cancel on us. We were happy to be able to get a room. The hotel is good quality. Room was small but that is to be expected in Japan. Staff was great. Location, adjacent to the JR station, makes it easy to explore Sendai or go on excursions. We have no complaints...a solid choice in Sendai.

If you are looking for a modern, clean capsule hotel with great amenities, i highly recommend any of the 9h hotels. They all come with the best facilities including shower, lockers and of course the famous Toto toilets. Capsule size is quite large, definitely no issues with it at all, however only comes with one power port which can be challenging. Location is great as it is close to a lot of food options, i'd suggest grabbing some famous Sendai Gyuu-tan (Beef tongue) at any of the Sendai Gyuutan Ryori Kaku joints.

I was traveling from northern Japan to Tokyo and made the stop in Sendai to rest and find a good meal. The Royal Park was FANTASTIC! The value and experience exceeded the very affordable price!! It's a very convenient location and has parking. I am American and do not speak Japanese, but they had staff who spoke English which was very helpful. I had a wonderful night's sleep and had dinner at the hotel resturant; it was a delicious meal and I would go back just to eat at the resturant :-) If you go you must make time to walk around the beautiful grounds. Every aspect of the hotel, resturant and the grounds are exceptional. I can't say enough wonderful things about my stay at the Royal Park - you've got to try it if you're near Sendai.

Booked one night here and it was perfect. From Sendai Station to Hotel Premium Green Hills, it was about 10 minutes walking distance. I walked through Cris Road where you could get almost everything. The staffs were helpful and patient. The room was small which is normal in Japan and it's enough for single traveler. There is a Matsuya restaurant close to the hotel and it was delicious. And the price was much less than what I expected. Thumbs up!

I stayed at Value The Hotel Sendai Natori for lack of other choices, but there's nothing to complain about. It's a very decent place for travelers on a budget, even with the lack of public transportation except taxis. My room was quite large for a Japanese hotel, exceedingly neat and with good lighting. Surprisingly, the toilet seat wasn't the customary washlet, just a regular one, but I guess it comes with the two stars. Coin laundromats are available if needed. Breakfast didn't offer much in terms of choice, but the traditional food was tasty and filling. All in all, quite fine for an overnight stay.

The rooms are fine according to Japanese standards. During our stay, we had a problem with the toilet, and the staff was very nice and upgraded our room to a deluxe room. The only drawback about this hotel is in my opinion the breakfast, which was not as good at the other hotel that we have been to. For a westerner, the choice of food for the breakfast may not be very good.

I stayed in a discounted "Double King" room and loved it. The hotel room was very clean, and had modern-looking, stylish and comfortable linens. There was parking available in the hotel but at an additional fee of ~1100 yen for the night. I'm not sure what the rates are for a longer stay. However, this rate is consistent with the rates offered by the private parking lots nearby. Unfortunately they only allow you to use the parking area while you are a guest, so after check-out you will have to find a new place to park. There are several next door. Japanese hotels tend to run on the small side, and although this room was larger than most it was no exception. The bed took up roughly half the room, although there was still plenty of space for a couple to put bags, clothes, etc. The TV was not huge, but larger than most I've seen in Japanese hotels. Overall the hotel itself was a very nice place to stay. It's located a few blocks from the main Sendai train station (and bus stops) as well as the shopping areas, so it's very convenient for everything Sendai has to offer.

For those worried about walking distance to JR Sendai, as I was when I booked this hotel, I did it in 7 minutes at my usual brisk clip, door to door. You may get held up at one pedestrian crossing for what seems like an eternity. On the other hand, there are walkways that mitigate against that risk. I doubt you will find a better, closer hotel than this one. For some reason we were placed in a room on one of the Comfort Floors, which sounds good though I don't know how it compare with a room on a regular floor. But it was good for the soul, at least. Best part was the vouchers for free (nonalcoholic) drinks at the Royal Host restaurant next door. I took my iPad and surfed the Web for a good hour or 2 every night while knocking back untold cups of cocoa. I paid for breakfast once, and overdosed on pancakes. Staff were very pleasant. Only minor quibble is poor directions given on the website. I found the hotel more by luck than anything, though it was not too hard in hindsight.
