Suwon-si hotels & places to stay

Second time to stay with Ramada Plaza Suwon. The hotel is almost the only option for business visitors to Suwon, the only 5 stars hotel in Suwon. The location is the central of the city but still several miles from subway station. Room is clean and comfortable, as usual. One reminder is toothpaste and toothbrush is not included in room charge, you need to pay for it if used.

It is a typical Ibis hotel. Built recently thus all the rooms are pretty new and clean. Small gym but enough to get you sweat. The only down side for me is the location. I need to go to other town outside Suwon by subway and the hotel is not any near to the station. I need to pay US$15 - US$20 to get to the subway station. Also, the breakfast is expensive. There is a 24 hours convenient store next to the hotel and you can grab something if you reluctant to pay for the breakfast. Also, there are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Overall is not a bad choice, I would rate it as a good 2.5 - 3 star hotel and best in Suwon.

The front desk staff at this hotel is excellent. Even when large groups are checking in, they make sure to take care of me along side of the group rather than making me wait for the large group to complete their check in. I wish this hotel was closer to the train station or bus stations, and I REALLY wish that taxi drivers would learn how to find it, but I am very pleased with the hotel and have stayed there many times. I am planning another few stays in the future, as well. Breakfast is a great benefit as well.

Overall, excellent stay only if you are traveling to this area. Location: very close to the subway station, but not much sightsee to this part of Suwon. Might be better stayed close to Suwon Station. Samsung HQ and KBS drama studio is north of here. The place is always VERY clean, room is very spacious. They actually change the sheets every day! (the hotel markings on the pillow cases changes everyday) There are free canned juices and teas, bottled water for free in the mini fridge and in the lobby, which is great. A free bag of toiletries incl. tooth brush, hair gel, make up, condom..etc. Staff speaks some English, not all staff does. Nice people though :) I tried to tell the front desk not to clean my room, but they did anyway. Later I found the cleaning crew speak some broken English, not Korean. Most of the guests are Korean couples, and the area surrounded are locals, and hard to find English menus... but quite a bit of people who speaks Chinese. Wifi have no password, 18~39Mbps.

Finding this hotel is a gem. Location is great just a few minutes walk from Suwon City Hall station surrounded by many stores and restaurants. The staff speaks limited English but they are very nice. Cleanliness is a plus. Love the big room and the shower room. I just hope they have a telephone in the room. I will definitely book this hotel again when I go back to Suwon.

The staff was very friendly and accomodating. They arranged for taxi service and were very helpful in instructing us on the use of the AC in the room as well as the internet and movie features. Great location of the hotel near the Suwon train terminal. The rooms were a little cramped, but still adequate. The themed rooms were very interesting from the outside, but I did not have the opportunity to see the inside of these rooms. We did have friends in one of the upper level rooms with a hot tub which was a very spacious and nice room.

Definitely not worth the money. Old building, perhaps historical in Suwon, but nothing special. Maybe OK for a business stay, but really nothing for couples or families. Bills itself as a 4_star, first class hotel ..... and prices itself on the high end in Suwon. But not worth it. Lobby has a very nice appearance, as well as the main floor restaurant and bar. But that's where it stops. Rooms are very small and not well appointed. No computer in the room ..... nothing stocked in the refrigerator ..... room was clean, but has a cramped and dingy feeling. There was an easy chair, but it barely fits in the room, and leaves NO room to move at one side of the bed. Summer in Korea is VERY HOT, but there is no air conditioning in the hallways outside the lobby. This alone gives the hotel a cheap feeling, as the hallways are very hot and have the accompanying humid, dank smell. Room has no view whatsoever, and also has a cramped, cheap feel. Hotel spa is for men only. Although billed as a four star hotel, there is NO ROOM SERVICE. Breakfast buffet was actually pretty good, but was a little light on western style offerings and heavy on Asian style breakfast. Overall, very overpriced. You can find much nicer hotels in Suwon at half to two/thirds of the price. OK only for a business stay, if your company is paying ..... or if you want to stay in a piece of Suwon history.

Stayed in Suwon as a hub with Daughter and grandsons. Booked 2 room on agoda same type as it would not allow me to select two different types. On arrival with late check in 8pm explained my situation and asked for one truple room upgrade. Staff was very helpful and got the bigger room with no cost. Excellent location. walking distance from Suwon station exit 8 or 11. Many nearby reaturants and pubs. Will stay again. thanks for the nice stay.

Travelled with my parents so we had the garden view suite for two nights because we would like to explore Suwon a bit more. The room was spacious and worth the money. A good kitchen though I dont understand why there were not cooking stove nor any utensils. Bathtub was clean. The hotel is 10-15 min walk from Suwon City Hall station. Easy taxi to travel around as it is the mid point between the town centre/ fortress and the Samsung Innovation Museum/Korean Folk Village. Hotel staff was friendly and so helpful with recommending nearby restaurants and getting taxi around. I love the great beef hotpot place nearby called “Usami”. Great hospitality!

I traveled to Suwon for a military Ball. This hotel was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. The bathroom had everything I needed. The jets worked on the whirlpool. The staff spoke great English. The parking is great. They will valet your vehicle. You can't beat the value!!! The owner, Tommy, is marvelous. He takes great care.of the customers and is pleasure to talk to.

I must recommend this hotel for staying in Suwon. The hotel staffs do not miss a chance to help you. They came to receive our luggage on arrival and did the same during departure. They came to our hotel room to hand over some specific foods which we did not find at the counter. In a word, they give very high importance to the customers. For the kitchenwares, you need the ask the staffs they will give you from their store. The bathroom and room were very clean and they replaced the bedsheets everyday. A washing machine is also available in the rooms. However, you should take the main street to reach the hotel. Nearby the station, there is a good street market where you can find a lot of restaurants and bars, crowded with youngsters. In summary, the behavior of the hotel staffs made us feel like family. If we come to Suwon in the future, we must come to this hotel.

This hotel was wonderful for the area it was located in. It was near one of the fortress gates and you can go on the hike along the fortress wall all the way to the top for epic views of the entire city. There is a bus stop literally a minute outside the hotel and shops and restaraunts within a 3-5 min walk north. The rooms were big, clean and comfortable with decent views. Sometimes it gets hot at night because we couldn't control the thermostat therefor we had to open the window. The hotel staff go out of their way to help you especially if you have limited knowledge of Korean. They even let me use one of their personal phones to send a text message. The entire hotel is very clean. The breakfast was simple but great value for the price of the hotel, make sure you go early as 8am for breakfast. There's a safe and large TV in the room. We stayed for 6 nights and felt it was a great choice for a great price. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Suwon.

The room is clean and comfy. My husband and I were amazed of the room. If you are staying for few days, you must tell the counter that you want your room to be cleaned and linens to be changed. Overall, it was a great and satisfying experience. The place is very need the suwon train station and all boutiques and restaurants. I am sure to book a room again here when I come back to visit my hubby. Thanks Motel Some.

Stayed at Welcome Guesthouse due to an event in Suwon World Cup Stadium, which is quite near to the guesthouse. Not the nearest place for tour places, but perfect for going to the Stadium. The place is very much automated, from entrance to the elevator to the key access to everything. Wifi was super fast and all needed amenities were provided (even down to the toothpaste). Everything about it is fantastic! The host was super nice, she helped me with everything from tour location details, where to go and what to do, bus number that I need to ride to wherever I want to go, and even woke up at 7AM just to help me book a taxi for my travel back to Incheon Airport. She has helped me way above the call of a guesthouse host. My only recommendation for improvement will be provision of rental adaptor plug for Korean voltage, other than that, everything is just perfect. Highly recommend for everyone to stay!
