Stayed here for 10 days and I have no complaints at all. - Staff were helpful and polite. - Housekeeping staff are friendly too. - It has all the necessary, swimming pool, kids playroom, jacuzzi and gym. - There is a big park opposite hotel where you can jog in the morning or do a night walk after dinner. - Had the best sleep at night. Its quiet, not a single sound. - Just need to wait awhile for water to turn hot for shower - Rooms are too cold for us but we just turned AC off and feel comfortable with it. Turn AC back on when room is too warm - Sea view room is best for longer stay. Waking up with sea view keeps me calm, worth it

This has been the best quality v value hotel that I have ever stayed at - by a country mile! The room was clean, comfortable and functional. The bathroom had spare toothbrush, shaving kit and a small repair kit! The staff were polite and professional and the public rooms were polished and smart. If there was any criticism it would be the bar; not particularly inviting decor and very heavy smell of cigarette smoke. Otherwise, excellent!

well the hotel is kinda true oldskool, though it was a nice experience. good facilities, comfortable and mostly quiet stay with a great sea / park view. it would be nice if we didn't have to change the room some day at 1am as it looks like some of neighbours smoked in their room. also feels like some of the reception staff lacks some training. speaking to your guest should be nice, not toxic. (I've just reported the unusable power sockets in the room and asked about bathrobes (I didn't book the 'premier' room, okay, it is not a crime so far.)). I didn't come to argue and complain, right? looking forward to come again soon though! pretty good and convenient location, good memories of a beautiful vacation on Penang.

What was initially a one night stay turned out to be four nights thanks to the very helpful and accommodating (pun intended) check-in staff. The hotel had a feel of what I would call old world charm. While all the facilities were modern, it was still a relaxing place to be. All staff were friendly and helpful, the room was large and well appointed, the whole hotel was clean and well maintained. All meals taken at the cafe, including breakfast and a Friday night buffet, were excellent and the catering staff very attentive. The pool and health club facilities were all clean and safe. The location, while a short hop to downtown Georgetown and all that has to offer, was also a short walk to the Paragon Mall and the Gurney Plaza, both excellent shopping venues. Along Gurney drive one to three hundred metres and beyond from the hotel lobby are streetside resturants with a variety of a local delicacies. All in all, this was a most enjoyable stay. For those looking to experience a relatively old world charm atmosphere, the Evergreen Laurel is the place to go. Thank you... especially to the staff for making the stay an enjoyable one.
