Things I like

Nice apartment, well and smartly decorated. View over the marina is wonderful and outside the window the strongest source of decibels are the swallows but I loved watching their airial acrobatics. There is a tram very near by which you can take downtown but we chose to walk to the old town by the seaside which takes about 25 minutes. Bring good shoes! There are good supermarkets some 5-10 minutes walking away. Everything was clean and properly maintained. Kitchen and bathroom are quite new. The bathroom door was difficult to close though. Beds were quite OK, not quite great though. We the parents used the sleeping sofa in the living room which is king size. This has a rather thin mattress which was surprisingly... OK. The one bedroom has a double bed and this has an air conditioning unit (the apartment description said that there was no AC but actually this was an adequate cooling system for the apartment which was a nice surprise since the weather was quite warm). Keeping open doors of course invites nature to the apartment and there was a little house gecko that resided in the bathroom which added a touch of adventure to our kids´ trips to the toilet and there also was a small colony of ants had a base somewhere behind the kitchen counter so it was better to seal off the sweet stuff. This was in no way unpleasurable, since these don´t classify as pests in any way.

Things I don’t like

This very nice property was on top floor, great view and balcony garden but the elevator is very small, just for 2 persons at a time and was broken for 1-2 days of our stay, but we of course could use the exercise. We had to collect the keys from a key box at a AirBnB service agency. This is some distance from the property and since our flight was landing late in the evening we had to take a taxi rather than the very convienient public city transport. We had a hard time understanding the local garbage pickup but this was all somehow managable.

Things I like

The location was perfect for us. It was a 15 min walk from the old town and the beach (but there is a bus just outside the door that takes you there in 4 min). It's surrounded by restaurants, there is a bakery just across the street (fresh croissants in the morning!), two supermarkets 2 min walk away. The parking space in the nearby building was definitely a plus. I read some comments about bathroom needing a rework but i think it was an old one as the bathroom looked fresh. Washing machine was a plus. I were worried about the heatwave but there is AC in the bedroom, also if you close the shades during the day the temperature is absolutely fine. Last but not least - the terrasse is AMAZING. We would spend afternoons and evenings there, sipping wine. We even got takeaway pizza downstairs and had nice dinner outside one evening.

Things I don’t like

You can see the furniture is a bit dated and could use an upgrade. I slept on the couch with my sister and it was not comfortable, that mattress saw much better days. When we've arrived the balcony was dirty (there was Sahara wind bringing sand just before we've arrived). We've reported it to the agency and the next day somebody came an cleaned it. Pickup of the keys at the agency is not the easiest part (we had a car so no issue there, just more to be aware). Parking spot is super narrow (centimeters on the sides narrow) and the garage door needs some force to open. I think some maintenance (a bit of oil?) would go a long way. Even though all of that we had a great stay and would recommend it.

The view from the windows is really impressive.

Things I don’t like

First of all, it is a big inconvenience to go to the agency on the other side of the city to pick up the keys. The communication of the company that services the apartment is tragic. We got an apartment with a completely dirty terrace, where it was impossible to rest because all the dirt was carried inside. When we asked to clean the terrace, we got a promise that they would do it, they didn't clean it, and finally they didn't communicate anymore. The apartment looks nicer in the photos than in reality.

Things I like

The apartment was in a great location with easy links from the airport. It was clean and had all the basics that you needed including washing up liquid and olive oil. None of which you want to buy when you’re just staying for a few days. Lots of options to eat out and just a short walk to the beach and the old town. Would highly recommend.

Things I don’t like

Although I didn’t really want to spend time watching TV, the World Cup was on during our stay and it would have been good to see certain games. Unfortunately there were no instructions on how to use the TV which was a little disappointing.
