Chedi Home (SHA Extra Plus)
Tha Phae,Chiang Mai - View on map
"My parents and I visited Chedi Home and could not have been happier. I lived in Chiang Mai for a bit and knew I wanted to stay in the area because the location is great. It's located on a cute and quiet sidestreet and it's easy to get to many of the main Chiang Mai attractions (walking or by taxi). The staff was so so friendly and accommodating, the rooms were very comfortable, clean, and cool, and the breakfast included was AMAZING (so much food: fresh fruit, coffee, juice, etc.). It was a perfect little place to hang out and relax when the heat was too much, with great juices and shakes and a cute pool. Overall incredibly satisfied with out stay and we could not recommend Chedi Home enough to anyone headed to Chiang Mai, we'll stay here every time we're here in the future!!"

The Opium Chiang Mai Hotel (SHA Extra Plus)
Chang Phuak,Chiang Mai - View on map
"We had a great stay at the Opium Hotel in Chiang Mai. We booked a studio room and it was lovely, comfortable and big. The staff were all so friendly and helpful - they were one of our favourite parts! They even came to pick us up at the airport for no extra charge even though we gave them very late notice. The lobby, breakfast, rooftop and pool were very nice (though the pool was far too cold to use). The only negative is that our bathroom was a touch worn - the shower flooded a lot when you used it - but it wasn’t a major issue. It’s not in the old town, but we loved the neighbourhood and it was super easy and affordable to get around!"

Walking Street Residence (SHA Extra Plus)
Old City,Chiang Mai - View on map
"This was our first trip to Chiang Mai Thailand and we book one night stay in Walking Street Residences. When we arrive at the hotel, we were check in by the owner and he gives us a lot of information about the old city and places to visit. After our first night, we decided to extend our stay for another 6 nights at Walking Street Residence. The owner, the 2 lady staff and the shop owner beside the hotel are very friendly and very helpful. The room has all the basic facilities such as tv (63 channels), air con, ceiling fan, toiletry (refill daily) , coffee & tea (refill daily), electric jug hot water kettle, glass bottle water (daily refill), bath towels (change daily) and the room was cleaned daily. The hotel is clean, smell fresh, good ventilation and situated in the middle of the old city. Many restaurants and places of interest is within a short walking distance and the Sunday Walking Street start just at the left hand corner of this hotel. We will definitely come back again. "

Lanna Dusita Riverside Boutique Resort
Chiang Mai Riverside,Chiang Mai - View on map
"Although this hotel is a few miles from Chiang Mai it is in a lovely peaceful setting and very tranquil. It is ideal as an away from it all location. There is a free shuttle service into Chiang Mai by boat in the morning and by minibus at night. Our room overlooked the River Ping and was well thought out in its layout. You could lay on the bed or in the bath and enjoy the views of the garden and the river. The infinity pool was a nice touch. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We wanted to go to a restaurant in Chiang Mai at 9.00pm on the Sunday evening and we asked reception to get us a taxi. They told us that the taxi was not available that evening but the receptionist offered to take us to the restaurant in her own car which we happily accepted. Now that's what you call customer service! Free wi fi was available at any point within the hotel grounds. Would definately recommend this hotel and would definately go back again. "

Content Villa Chiang Mai
Hang Dong,Chiang Mai - View on map
"This trip was probably my 7th or 8th time in Chiang Mai, but this was my first time staying at Content Villa. All the other times, I've stayed at other 4 or 5 star hotels both in and out of downtown. After this trip, however, I'm pretty sure I won't have to look for another hotel next time as I'll 100% be returning to Content Villa. But why? Most of the reviews here say the location is remote. True, it's definitely not in the center of town, but that means you're getting peace and tranquility. In fact, the other top hotels aren't even in downtown anyway, so it's practically the same thing. And it definitely isn't hard to get into town via various readily available transportation. I didn't think this was an issue at all especially for the price you're paying vs. what you're getting. Great place, really nice. Friendly and very accommodating staffs. Amazing service. People there take the time to remember you and actually strive to please you. 10/10 would recommend to anyone! "

We Terminal Hotel
Chiang Mai Airport,Chiang Mai - View on map
"My cousin and I stayed at 3 different places during our stay on Thailand. I'd have to say We Terminal was the best out of those 3. As soon as we arrived, the staff was already so helpful with getting our bags and helping bring them up to our room. The room was a very cute, clean, and private dormitory for you and your group. What my cousin and I appreciated even more was the fact that the hotel provided you with unlimited complimentary water bottles during your stay so you can take them on the go with you once you're out exploring and sightseeing. The hotel also had a complimentary breakfast from 7AM-10AM which I hadn't even known about until the day I checked in which was a plus. The breakfast had a variety of choices for you to choose from and the food was good as well. This definitely helped my cousin to start our day with full energy to explore the city. One last thing I loved about this hotel was the complimentary shuttle that could take you to nearby tourist locations in Chiang Mai, whether it be the City Square w the temples, weekend market, airport, etc. This saved us some more baht to spend on other things rather than transportation. The staff was very helpful and friendly and always at your service with anything you may need. I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for an overall great stay and hotel experience. :) "

VC@SUANPAAK Hotel & Serviced Apartment
Chiang Mai Airport,Chiang Mai - View on map
"I love this hotel. Three of us stayed at this hotel the night before our trek in Chiang Mai. We chose this hotel because it was close to the airport and got good reviews. When we checked in, there was some miscommunication and one of our friends didn't book a room. Even though the hotel was quite full, the super friendly staff quickly found a room for him, and without charging something outrageous! When do you ever see that anymore? The resort was great. Had a very relaxing ambience, the way it was set up. A very country feel. The rooms were enormous, so big we didn't know what to do with ourselves. The breakfast could have been better but then this place would have been too perfect. I highly recommend this hotel and plan to stay here again next time I'm up in Chiang Mai. Totally wonderful!"

Baan Suan Residence
San Phe Suea,Chiang Mai - View on map
"My stay was very comfortable and enjoyable. I was in Chiang Mai for 'medical' tourism so the location may not suit some, but for those who need to be near The Cabin (a rehab center) it was ideal. I biked to and from The Cabin 3 days for a family seminar and it was ideal. Baan Suan has 2 very nice restaurants and is 1 km from an excellent French restaurant, David's Kitchen. The concierge, Mr. Aek, and other staff were very solicitous of my needs knowing this was a stressful time for me. They have a lovely driver, Noi, who took me to various markets and temples on my off days, and to the grocery store when I needed some things for my room. Speaking of which - my room was very spacious and well-appointed comfortable beds, pillows, seating and desk area, with a lovely patio overlooking a small water feature covered in flowers. The entire facility (lanna) was covered in local art pieces - paintings, sculptures, textiles, metalworks, you name it! It was a sight to behold. I would recommend this hotel to all those who don't mind a quiet respite away from the City Center, on the Ping River. It's a short 15-min tuk tuk ride to/from the city center if you're up for the night/weekend markets and other city offereings."
