I stayed here for two nights with my parents. I booked the room through Agoda. Due to misleading images on the website, I mistakenly believed the room had one large bed and one small bed, which would have accommodated my parents and me. However, before and after departure, I realized that the images were distorted, and the room actually had only two small beds. Agoda claimed the images were provided by the hotel, while the hotel stated that the booking was made through Agoda, so they were not responsible. Agoda’s hotline disconnected countless times, and most customer service agents did not call me back. As a result, I had to repeat my issue to different agents at least seven or eight times over nearly three hours, which was extremely frustrating. However, since my parents are elderly, I had to endure this ordeal to ensure their comfort and rest. I hoped Agoda would provide a reasonable solution, but in the end, they blamed me for choosing the room and said I had to bear the consequences. Upon checking into Hatten Hotel, the staff provided excellent service and suggested I try sleeping on the sofa or pay extra for an additional bed if needed. They also helped me settle in, for which I am very grateful. However, the hotel itself is extremely old. My room had no windows that could be opened, the carpet was moldy, and there were mold stains on the sofa, stool, and curtains. Some power outlets were coming loose from the walls, the wallpaper was damp and bubbling, and the bedsheets had many black stains that seemed permanent. The bathroom lacked shower gel and shampoo, which had to be requested separately. The toilet seat had old, faint bloodstains that had turned yellowish-red over time. The TV was blurry and could not be adjusted, apparently due to its outdated model. The room had a strong moldy odor, which remained even after using air freshener. The hotel switched our room three times, and on the final attempt—thanks to a manager who had worked there for 21 years—we were given a room on the other side of the building with a ventilation window. This room was much better, with natural light and no moldy smell. However, moving rooms multiple times was exhausting, and overall, the hotel’s condition completely shattered my expectations of a five-star hotel. I’m sharing this experience in the hope that it helps other travelers: 1. Hotels or Agoda may sometimes use distorted or misleading images, but no one takes responsibility for them. 2. Hatten Hotel provides excellent service, but the rooms are old and poorly ventilated (hygiene is questionable—it does not feel particularly clean). Many rooms are dimly lit. Travelers with specific accommodation standards should choose carefully.
