"We stayed at Bayleaf on our final night in the Philippines after spending 10 days in the South. When we checked in they said the upgraded our room from superior to premier for no charge. The room was very nice. The sitting room was separate from the bed by the tv which ended up coming in handy because spent most of our time there at the desk working. However we were only given 1 wifi password which is only good for one device. Come on Bayleaf its 2013 we all travel with laptops, iPhones, and iPads, but that is my only real complaint. The bed was very comfortable and had a duvet cover which was nice because all the other hotels we stayed in only had a flat sheet. The bathroom was a good size and the rainfall shower was hot and decent water pressure. We had dinner at the rooftop bar. We didn't have a reservation so we couldn't get a table, but were able to sit on the couches and eat. We tried the hare hare and the oxtail, both were excellent and the portions were huge. It was very dark and we couldn't see our food at all, but the ambience was still nice. The service was good too. Breakfast is just average. I expected a better selection. The view of the golf course from the restaurant was nice even though the sun through the windows was a bit blinding. The area around the hotel is very nice to explore on foot. I enjoyed walking along the fort wall, then visiting the Cathedral, San Augustin Church, and Fort Santiago - though the Fort was closed because it was Good Friday. I also went for a run through Rizal Park which was very beautiful. A lot of trike drivers tried to stop me and offer me tours, but I think the area is best explored on foot. The staff was friendly and helpful, but no one missed an opportunity to tell me everywhere else was closed and they still had to work on Holy Thursday and Good Friday. The trip to the airport was about 30 minutes and 200PHP. I would definitely recommend staying here."

"I have stayed in many hotels and this one by far the best, in value, location but best of all, the staff were very accomodating and friendly, always saying good day with smiles, specially the front reception...the food is fabulous, the hotel itself is bang on next to the San Agustin Church which is full of history, 5 minute walk from the Manila Cathedral, and another 3 minute walk to the Fort Bonifacio. I was on my own walking around Intramuros, I felt safe, no one hassles me, I would deffinitely stay here again and would recommend this to anyone who is interested on history of Intramuros, play Golf, and Manila area in general."
