"The hotel room was great, very large and spacious, completely not like other hotels I have stayed in in Japan, although it could be because it wasn't in Tokyo. The room is by asia standards very big. It was very clean and there was not a speck of dirt anywhere. Good job to the housekeeping staff. The only issue we had was I had originally booked a single room on agoda for myself, but later my brother wanted to travel also, so I cancelled my room on agoda and booked a double bed room, also on Agoda. Upon arrival to the hotel, they told me that we had to pay extra for my brother even though the new room I booked had two beds and can occupy two people. This new room with two beds also cost almost double of the old room which only had one bed. Doesn't make any sense to me at all. Anyway, feel a little ripped off because of this situation. "

"I was a little worried with this hotel being so cheap and a name like LiveMax. We're talking $35-45/night on cheap days. Great value. Weekends can go up to $125. yikes! Room size is slightly bigger than a business hotel. It's still small, but maybe an extra 10sqft. I know... I know... but it makes a big difference. Location is in the middle of Yokohama China Town. You can go on a day binge of pearl teas and tons of Chinese food. Motomachi and Minato Mirai is in walking distance. It dies down by 11pm. But there is a 24 hour grocery store if you walk towards the train station. Chukagai Train Station is about a 5 min walk. Staff is the most lenient I have ever seen in Japan. They leave you to your privacy. They just keep their heads down as you walk in and lightly say "Iterashaimase" when you leave. Other hotels give you a bulky key you have to hand over every time you leave. This one doesn't require that. Just a card."

"The hotel is very close to Nihon-Odori Station, which you can access easily from Yokohama Station through Minatomiari Line. The hotel is easily found, even for first-time guest like me. I like the hotel so much. The hotel building looked nice and elegant. It was quite, clean, and comfortable. Check-in was easy, the staffs were nice. For the room, I booked twin moderate room. It was quite big for Japan-size hotel in common. The facilities in the room were well provided; they even provided face soap. There was only one thing I regretted; I asked for more coffee because I like to drink coffee, but they said they could not give more. I had experience staying in other business hotel, they were willing to give more, and even repeated it everyday since then. However, it was not a big problem. My overall experience staying in JAL City Yokohama hotel was great, and I will certainly stay in this hotel again when I go to Yokohama :)"
