The hotel staffs speak better English than the other 5 star Yogyakarta hotel I stayed in (the other one can't even answer how much does it cost to make a local phone call). Guys at concieige helped arrange taxi and advanced ticket purchase to shows instead of trying to sell us one of their hotel packages. Our room is down the hallway with bad wifi reception. After a call to the front desk, a tech guy came to help solve the problem and installed another router closer to our room. It doesn't really help but at least they tried. Shopping mall next door just made my day.

To sum up, this hotel is simply amazing from all point of view. Personally I would say this could be one of the best hotel in Yogyakarta and one of the best that we have stayed throughout our travel around the world. Excellent hospitality from the point of check in to check out. The hotel is located 0.5km from the biggest shopping mall in Yogyakarta (the Ambarukmo Mall). The hotel provides complimentary shuttle services to Ambarukmo Mall/ Lippo Mall and also to the famous Malioboro street shopping district. Malioboro street is around 20 minutes ride from the hotel. Room: We stayed in the premier double room. The room is clean, comfy and huge, The birthday setting was superb with personal touch from the hotel staffs. Cleanliness it top notch. Common area: No matter which corner you walk to, the entire hotel is clean and shining at all times. 6 star! Check out their green house/hydroponic garden. A must see. Pool: Big, clean and suitable for both adults and children. Breakfast: One of the best spread that we have seen. Overall it exceeded our expectations. From Indian food, to local and western, name it and they have it all right there. Complimentary cakes, cappuccino or even espresso!!! I will take some time to honour the following hotel staffs who had gone beyond their time and effort to ensure we had a fantastic stay: 1. Via - Verandah Restaurant - Excellent personal touch in preparing our cocktail. Very attentive and humble, 2. Jasmine - Retreat Spa -Though we didn't use the spa this time, the spa looked amazing. She took the time to take me for a tour and a personal thanks to her for recommending a nice hangout spot to chill out in town. 3. Retno - She was simply fantastic. From the point we arrived at the hotel, she was right there waiting for us to ensure that we had a smooth check in. She treated us with Bak Pia while waiting for our check in. The best part, she brought the birthday cake to our room to surprise my wife with a birthday song. Best birthda

A stylish, new hotel (at time of writing 9 months open), well-intentioned with a romantic setting situated in a main street of Yogyakarta. Staff very helpful. At additional price early check-in possible. Spacious beds with thick mattresses. Bar available, although poorly stocked. Restaurant gets full quickly, also by outside reservations, leaving hotel guests no other choice than eating outside. Clean and spotless bathroom, generous breakfast.

Of all the three Yogyakarta hotels that we stayed, Grand Aston was our firm favourite. Although we had an initial glitch with one of the lady receptionist when checking in, it was soon forgiven with the quality service of the other staff. One shining example was Mr. Hakim, Grand Aston gym instructor. Being on holiday, we wanted to have our fitness checked amidst the food feast. On top of giving us advices on workout routines and diet plans for the four days we were there, he also gave us local tips. The entire lobby staff , except for the grumpy one who checked us in, were very helpful. We were asking so many questions and were taking up their time, but we were always treated patiently and was never rushed. We were also pleased with Pejamata spa, affordable and most importantly, good and relaxing. We highly recommend Grand Aston Yogyakarta and are looking forward to our next stay in Aston Makassar.

We booked a Premier One Bedroom Suite with View and stayed for 4 nights. Our arrival was early at around 10am and they were unfortunately full for us to have an early check-in. We have to wait for 5 hours until the official check-in time which was 3pm. The first room that was assigned to us was in the second floor. The view was almost entirely obstructed as it was on a low floor. I expressed my concerns to the check-in counter that if I wanted a normal room I would have just booked a Deluxe. I specially booked the Premier One Bedroom Suite with View for the view and getting the room on the second floor felt that I was shortchanged. Special thanks to the Front Counter Staff, Mr Hendik for successfully arranging the exchange of rooms to the highest one. Please take note to request for a higher floor if you want a good view. Housekeeping was prompt and everything was replaced timely. Breakfast spread was adequate and decent. Swimming pool size were average and there was not much crowd at all times in the pool. Staff were all very friendly and approachable. Special arrangements like transportation were all fulfilled and there was zero hiccups throughout my stay in here Marriott Yogyakarta except for the initial room assignment. Overall stay was excellent and would highly recommend to travellers who wants a convenient hotel which is right beside a mall.

The room was spacious and very clean, the breakfast had a great variety of Western and Indonesian food (juice bar, eggs, cereals and much more). But the best thing about Grand Ambarrukmo was definitely the staff: Extremely friendly, attentive and helpful, they eben made us sandwiches for our flight which was early in the morning so we didn‘t have time for the regular breakfast buffet. Grand Ambarrukmo is located fairly close to the airport but a bit away from Malioboro Street or Prawirotaman. It didn‘t really matter to us because the area was nice and taking a cab is cheap! Would definitely recommend anytime!

I travelled to Yogyakarta for a conference and decided to stay at the Victoria hotel because the conference hotel was way over my budget. It was next door to the conference hotel and located 5 mins away from a shopping mall. The entrance to the hotel was beautiful and check-in was incredibly fast. The room was just nice. However, there was no iron/ironing board in the room. So, we had to call the front desk.The staff are friendly and helpful.

The Grand Dafam Merapi Merbabu Yogyakarta Hotel is nicely located in the center of Yogyakarta, placing it somewhere between the airport and the famous Malioboro street. Its location is good, with the Ambarrukmo Plaza a short drive away. This hotel should cater well to the business people due to its accessibility (hotels in Malioboro tend to cater more towards the tourists type). The hotel is rather new and clean. It is said that previously the hotel is self-managed, before finally joining the Dafam hotel chain. As such, it's still quite obvious where the previous management was lacking. Rooms are spacious and nicely furnished, the beds are nice too. However, an in-room safe deposit box should come as standard in 4-stars hotel, as even some 2-stars hotels provide them. There's also no in-room refrigerator in the room. Breakfast was nice with plenty of options. Overall, if you're going to Yogyakarta on business, this hotel is worthy considering.

Saya menginap selama 3 malam. Setiap saya request butuh sesuatu, para staf akan menyediakannya dengan segera. AC dan water heater berfungsi dengan baik. Kamar selalu dibersihkan setiap hari. Para staf sangat ramah dan sangat membantu. Bahkan saat bantal saya tertinggal, mas Andi dengan sangat baik mengirimkan bantal tersebut melalui paket (Terima kasih banyak ya mas Andi). Lokasi hotel pun sangat strategis. Yang utama adalah, di hotel ini ada lobby yang cukup luas di lantai 2 sehingga sangat nyaman untuk rendezvous dengan kerabat. Fasilitas pun sangat lengkap, tersedia pula massage and spa, sayang sekali kami tidak memiliki waktu yang cukup untuk mencobanya. Menu breakfast pun cukup bervariasi. Sebagai masukan: akan lebih baik jika di dalam kamar mandi disediakan tirai agar air dari shower tidak menyebabkan becek dan membuat lantai licin sehingga berisiko jatuh untuk anak2 dan lansia. I decided last minutes to go to Yogyakarta from Jakarta, in half hour I booked my ticket and this hotel, hotel staff helped me to rent a car with English speaking driver for one and half days, although I am by myself I visited 4 temples and volcano, had wanderful lunch and dinner in a very traditional restaurant, also visit a few craft factory but It wasn't interested plus I live in Jakrta I knew the price but it will be interested for people traver far and frist time in Indonesia. Thank you for hotel staff made my trip more comfortable and I will visit Yogyakarta again with my visitors next time.

I stay for 2D1N in this hotel with my family, the staffs are very friendly..they always greet us with smile. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. The bathroom is a little bit small (no bathub) but clean enough. The breakfast is also good, it's buffet breakfast, but don't expect 5 stars hotel menu here. The environment is very good, you can walk around or you can rent bicycle in the hotel. If you go there on sunday, there will be a local morning market that worth to go, heaps of foods, many of cheap stuffs. The only thing I don't really like about this hotel is they don't have elevator, but there will be a staff that will help you bring your bags.

The Puri Artha was a pleasant place to stay. The staff were very accommodating. The dining room is nice and the breakfast buffet is good. What I liked best about about the Puri Artha is that the hotel has maintained the atmosphere of pre-boom Yogyakarta, the place that I remember fondly from my younger days. The hotel has minor shortcomings, as would any older 3-star hotel, but nothing that would impede me from re-booking for my next visit.

The Yellow Star Gejayan is a great hotel, particularly if you are having meetings at UGM, Sanata Dharma or any of the other universities nearby. The room is neat and clean although the sitting space for the table is nearly non-existent as I was sitting on the bed to work on the table rather than on the provided chair; the bathroom was sufficiently spacious and clean with no strange smells or moldy stains. The room service was so-so, you would be more entertained by eating at the rooftop bar than in your room. One big problem I faced was an extremely unstable wifi internet connection. It was so bad I had to use my mobile data hotspot for most of my stay in Yellow Star. Apart from that my stay was great and I will be coming back again in the near future.

We're very enjoying to have a stay in this hotel. First thought that this was a standard hotel with limited facilities, but I've been so wrong. Although this hotel was not rated with stars yet, but it already provides the necessary services just like a starred hotel. The room is equipped with bathtub and shower (with hot water available), a LED tv with 30+ international channels, a very comfy spring bed (with two pillows and bolsters), a water heater, a refrigerator (empty one), large wardrobe, two padded chairs, and there's a balcon too (for Deluxe Room only). A lot of parking space, a restaurant that opens until midnight, quiet surrounding, a there's a line of food stalls along the road of Cik Di Tiro (you might need walking there less than five minutes). The location is moderately close to many Yogyakarta's attraction sites, from Tugu, Malioboro, Keraton, Jalan Reksabayan, Jalan Janti, Jalan Solo, and so on. It will take approximately 15-25 minutes from the airport to this hotel, or vice versa, depending the traffic.

First, a bit difficult to find the hotel since the map shows wrong location. After calling the hotel crews, we got the clue.The location is closer to Nort Ring Road. Strange hotel layout (guest room on left side, while the right side is empty..or will become function hall). BUT...this hotel is brand new, the room & bathroom are very clean, flatscreen TV and wardrobe. The interior is chick, simple, comfy. No toileteries, need to pay IDR 5rb for towel, but they hv convient store beside the receptionist. Indomaret store is across the hotel. Enough parking space or u can find ojek nearby. 3 staff ignored me when I wanna check in (while there's no other guess). The response from hotel staff when I check in was very very slow. They gave me key a bit faster after I sclod them. But overall...I like staying in this hotel. Coz the point is, I need cozy place to take a rest after tiring day of exploring Yogya.

The hotel is a little hope from the strip downtown but taxis are cheap and for trips to the temples the tour places pick you up anyway. Staff was very obliging and help us as best they could with the telephones. We had to make a collect call to our bank in Canada. Pool needs a good cleaning and some chairs. The high point for us was the front staff and room attendents. Highly recommend.

I really love the hotel's ambient and interior design. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. The room is nice and clean but not really spacious, but suits what you expect from a 3-star hotel. There is a variety of food to eat for breakfast, taste nice too. More cost-saving if you include a breakfast plan into your booking rather than eating outside as most of the eating outlets outside the hotel are ideal for lunch or dinner only. Parking lots are extremely limited. The only thing is the location, I guess. Quite far from most tourist attractions. However, it's a great hotel overall! I would come back.

We stayed here for a week and had a pleasant stay. The room had aircon, a good hot shower, comfy bed, cable TV and plenty of room to put your stuff. There is a nice communal area with kitchen with a hob to cook some noodles or rice if you want to and although it's not fully equipped, it's handy to have though you'll probably want to head out to one of the many local warungs for some cheap local food. The staff are super friendly and always smiling and Leni (the manager/owner?) is great. Ask about the pictures on the walls. They offer services such as laundry, trips etc though I never made use of them, mostly because I don't speak Bahasa Indonesia. Unless Leni is around, you won't get anywhere speaking English. I'm not saying that as a bad thing, it makes you learn at least some words of Indonesian. The place is (luckily) situated in a quiet street off the main road of Jalan Geyajan which is ridiculously busy. I seriously do not know where all these motos come from (or where they are going). You dice with death walking along that road. Pavements aren't a 'thing' in Indonesia yet it seems. Anyway, I digress. Oasis Satu is pleasant and good value for money and in walking distance of UGM and UNY. A taxi to downtown will be about 30k from there or you can get a bus on Geyajan. There's a few good places around there, particularly Kedai Kopi for coffee and Dixie for some International food.

this hotel had everything we needed in yogyakarta. a good bed, helpful staff (in regards of lending out their phone for free to call a tour-operator, lending us the computer in the office of the hotel staff when we needed to go to the internet, and basicly making sure that we had everything we needed). the hotel also has 24 hour security. not that i think you'll need it in this neighborhood, but it makes you feel more safe. the hotel also has a nice little pool, and lots of international tv channels in the rooms. if i should make one remark, the food at the hotels restaurant could have been better. and maybe wifi in the rooms?
