Hualien City hotels & places to stay

We chose this hotel to have a break from the city and a start point to visit the Taroko National Park and gorge . It was a great choice ! So many activities inside the hotel you could do and the proximity next door of a golf . Activities included 2 pools one indoor , indoor climbing wall , pool tennis table, bow and arrows , spa , ... and many more ! It was a bit out of Hualien City but really we did not miss any thing really . Great start point for the visits to the Taroko park . The hotel proposed different tours too . The only thing is our driver did not speak English and really, most of the staff did not speak English , only the staff from the front desk and the shops . Otherwise , I would definitely go back there with my family !

We stayed 2 nights at Hotelday Plus Hualien and really enjoyed it! It is located near the Hualien train station, which is nice if you want to do day trips to e.g. Taroko National Park (the buses leave from the train station). The hotel is designed very stylish and we felt super comfortable in our room! The interior was super modern. Hualien night market is ~ 3 km away, so you’re better off riding a bike there. Good thing the hotel rents out bikes!:) the first 4 hours are for free, every following our costs $150 NTD, which we thought was a bit expensive. If you want to rent a bike for more than 4 hours, we recommend the bike shop next to the bus stop ($150 NTD per day)! We liked the hotel very much and would stay here again :)

We stayed on 8th floor and the room had nice view of the ocean. The room had a big bed and was very roomy. There was a large bathing area with tub and shower by the window. Toilet and sink was in a separate section near the door. The bed was a little soft and wished it was more firmer. we parked in underground parking lot under the hot which was free. There is a seven eleven nearby along with some pharmacies but other than that have to drive for more things. It was about a half hour to hour drive to Taroko Gorge from hotel and about 10-15 minute drive to Hualien city center and train station. The hotel had coin laundry in the basement. But had to dry clothes a little longer in dryer to be fully dry. Also our sink in our room drained slowly. So we couldn't turn on the faucet all the way.

New and appealing hotel in Hualien. It offers a good confort (even if bathrooms are not at the same level as the rest of the hotel). Breakfeast is good and offers a wide choice. Outside pool is also a plus. Main negative points of the hotel is the location. Too far to go by walk to downtown Hualien. You need to take a cab. There is also not a lot of restaurants or shooping possibilities around the hotel. Would probably fit better business trip or group tours, than couple or single travellers.

Checked-in at 7pm into the top floor room. When we returned from dinner close to 10pm Hualien was hit with a heavy downpour causing the roof top water to leak at the lift landing area. Told to change to the 9th floor for all rooms guests on the 10th at 11pm. Was quite a hazzle as the lobby staff was left with 2 guys and we have to move ecerything ourself including pillows, slipper and bottled water as there are 4 of us and the room on the 9th seemed to be for 2. As hotel has no self service washing machine we were doing our laundry at a nearby 24hr washing shop. Was an eventful night. Overall still acceptable. The check-out staff apologised and given us some gift and hotel discount voucher. Basement carpark not for big car. Self-washing machine available in hotel will be ideal. Will still come back for the cleaniness and comfortable beds.

Walking distance to and from Hualien Station. Just look out for a bright yellow building which is very visible from the station. Staff service is impeccable and exemplary. They would drop whatever they are going just to greet you aloud, like Japanese style. Close to dining options too though bit far to night market. But no fault of theirs. 1st hotel we come across that serves supper and its so sumptious with noodles, porridge etc which can be considered as late dinner. Lots of variety for buffet breakfast too. You will be spoilt for choice. They tried to arrange a Taroka Gorge day trip for us. But travel agency advised not to go there as they are falling rocks and stones. Instead we spend time in Hualien city instead. We book a business double but they upgraded us free to a quad room with 2 queen beds equipped with a bath tub. 2 thumbs up to them. Only issue is sound proofing can be better. You can literally hear conversations when people talk and pass by the corridor outside.

Clean hotel and located near to 7E and just 5-8 minutes walk to Hualien Train Station. Can put your bag temporary before check in. When we went to Hualien, it was wet season and we don't have umbrella with us. They let us borrow the hotel umbrella (for the whole day) which I think not many hotel do so, i consider this is something that need to be mention as extra point. Good service by the hotel staff and some of them can speak English. The best thing about the hotel, they do provide free laundry service which they will show where the washing machine/ dryer location are. Overall, I really enjoy my stay here.

Our stay at Fullon Hotel Hualien was during the time the 6.4-scale earth quake landed in Hualien City. If we had the foresight, we probably wouldn't be in Hualien at that time, but we were there, and were so glad that we stayed at Fullon Hotel! During our last night of planned stay there, we were jolted awake by the quake around midnight in our 10th floor room. The first strong quake was followed by significant after shocks. The hotel staff soon started knocking on the door to help us evacuate to the 1st floor lobby. There, we found bundles of towels/blankets and cases of bottled water to help settling the guests. The staff even prepared a van to drive guests who felt the need to be on an open space to the adjacent open lot. At 6:30 am, the buffet breakfast was ready, and was as sumptuous as the day before, prepared by workers who came to work on time regardless their own need at home! Such a well-built hotel, with dedicated and attentive staff! Where else would we have rather be!!

This is the second time I've stayed at the Just Sleep Hotel in Hualien. What I like most about this hotel is the fact that it's relatively new, & clean with a large spacious room and comfortable bed. It's also fairly close to the night market and shopping. A nice bathroom is also important to me and this one qualifies as it contains the features I like. I also like the fact that the room I stayed in has a small balcony. Both times that I've stayed at this hotel I've taken advantage of their free laundry facility for guests, though I find the dryer leaves much to be desired as it takes a long time for clothes to dry. However, that's a minor inconvenience and overall I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a bit of class while staying in Hualien.

The Japanese room stated its for 5 adults but we booked it for 6 person and thought it would have an extra bed but no, there were 3 double beds in the room which is very good. Also, the room has 2 toilets, one with bath room and one without bath room. Water pressure of the showers is good. The breakfast was good, with a lot of varieties and also many varieties for vegetarian which is also a plus point for vegetarian travelers. The only point we were not quite satisfied was the tables for breakfast were not enough, the staff asked us to wait for a bit, caused us rushing for the tour we had booked on the day. Location was very good as it is only opposite of the night market. Staff was attentive and friendly. Will come back again if we ever go to Hualien again.

I enjoyed my two nights stay at Meci Hotel while visiting Hualien City for the first time. Location was good for travelers arriving Hualien by train. It's an easy walk that takes probably less than 10 minutes. The bustling Chung-Shang Road is right around the corner with tons of restaurants to choose. Although breakfast is not served/included, there are plenty of cheap breakfast places nearby, one is literally right next to the hotel. I used the free bike offered by the hotel to spend more than 4 hours to explore the lovely ocean front Nanbin Park and some quiet neighborhood streets in the city. The hotel's young staff are all very friendly and efficient, they go well with the hotel's youthful and modern looking appearance.

My initial plan was to stay in Hualien for four nights before travelling to other part of Taiwan but due to all the nice scenery and attractions in Hualien. and also the good breakfast and cleanliness of this hotel, I decided to changed my itinerary and spent the remaining of my vacation here. With this opportunity I want to thank all of you in Liga especially a kitchen staff by the name of Zhang Shu Zheng for her warm hospitality and kindness. Keep up with all the good work. Liga will definitely be my choice if I visit Hualien again. Thank you!

Hotel is located in good location. About 100m away from Hualien Railway Station, bus terminal and Tourist Information Centre. Nearby are eateries, shops, convenient stores, restaurants... etc. Friendly and helpful staff with good knowledge of tourist spots and advices on public transportation. Clean spacious room with snow white towels and good quality toiletries. This is not the first time I stayed with this hotel, and it won't be the last time. I enjoyed my stay and very please with the staff performance. Until now, I have never thought of staying in any other hotel in Hualien City. Will be back to stay with Charming City Hotel, a hotel that I feel so much at home.

Leaf inn is a beautifully refurbished building with aesthetically pleasing decor. Each room is uniquely designed. The room that I was in had tiny figurines and thought provoking phrases (in Chinese, so it was mostly lost on me). Breakfast is served at the cafe and it was lovely. There was a nice designer market the weekend I was there with some live singing. It's not in Hualien town centre, but it's a simple taxi ride away. The staff will help you call a taxi to anywhere you want to go.

The hotel is located about 10 minutes walk away from the train station, which is pretty convenient for us as we travelled with friends as a group of 4. Hualien City is a quiet and scenic area, it is highly recommendable that the hotel rents out bicycle for free. With the rented bicycles we actually cycled around the whole Hualien City instead of travelling by buses or train. Hualien is a pretty small city so with proper planning you can easier travel around the city. The hotel also helped us to book for a day tour to Taroko National Park. The taxi driver selected by the hotel was very nice and humble. For the price that we paid, it was value for money and indeed a relaxing stay at the hotel.

Everything is great at this hotel! Can rent bikes for free to go around Hualien city, a route along the Pacific Ocean is just in front of the hotel, though a section of the bikeway down the south is in reconstruction. It's less than 10mins cycling from the night market and would take 20mins to walk. Room is great, comfortable and nicely equipped with a Seaview balcony. Perfect for those who would do a bit of cycling during your trip.

The location of this hostel was 5 minutes from the Train Station in Hualien City. I enjoyed my stay here as the place was clean, they had individual lockers and the washing/drying machines were functional (2 washing and 2 drying machines). The staff gave great advice on where to go and were really friendly. Breakfast was good with the usual tea/coffee/water and toast plus different kinds of spreads (They had 6 kinds). There was eggs and ham too. An open kitchen was available for anyone that wanted to do their own cooking. An enjoyable stay indeed!

The staff was very very helpful. From the moment they fetched us from the airport, the service level was impeccable. Arsma is one of the newest hotel in Hualien, well-designed and comfortable. It is located next to the main shopping "triangle" in Hualien, where you can find clothes, shoee and local street food. We will certainly stay at Arsma again if we visit Hualien again!

Room and toilet are extremely clean. Bathtub is modern and beautiful. I love the pillow and bed provided are super comfortable. Yet, the hair dryer is not user friendly, especially for the girl with long long hair needed to press the button in a long time. Staff are nice and friendly. They reminded me that they had a fire drill so that we did not to be afraid. Buffet Breakfast is tasty and very suitable for vegetarians. The food change day to day, so you won't feel bored to have the breakfast in every morning in this hotel. In addition, hotel provide free shuttle take us to airport, so I highly recommended this hotel to any people travel Hualien.

My friends and I had a very good stay for two nights in the family room. The four of us enjoyed the hotel facilities provided here after staying at 2 different airbnb guest houses at Taichung and Sun Moon Lake before that. The family room was huge and spacious. There was so much space left to walk around although all four of us had big luggage. The bathroom was huge too with a bathtub as well as a shower room. The hotel room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The best part was definitely the free self-service laundry. We could do our laundry with the free washing machines and dryers at the parking lot. Free detergent powder and laundry bags were provided too! The selection of food for buffet breakfast was not bad though we thought the quality of food could be improved. As for the location of the hotel, it is not walkable to the Hualien city centre. However, it was not an issue for us as it was not expensive for us to cab there as there was four of us. There are also free bicycles provided by the hotel if you wish to cycle around. Overall, a pleasant stay.

(+) -extremely reasonable price and value -very spacious and clean -modern decor, facilities and amenities -short walk to train station - very decent bed, sheets and pillows -ample parking lot + private garages for theme motel rooms -theme rooms are pleasantly decorated -well-prepared typical local breakfast -free coffee and snacks in lobby -very pleasant and helpful staff -strong hot water for bath and jacuzzi in every room -superb climate control unit -large 42” LED LCD TV+cable TV -a couple of free drinks in the mini-fridge (–) - ~30 min. walk (?) to the city center and 40 min. to DongMen night market so it’s best to have a scooter or car. Taxis aren’t as plentiful in Hualien unlike the larger cities. -emergency exit sign is too large and far too bright at night and of course it can’t be turned off. -not a shady Taiwan-style “love motel” contrary to what some people might perceive -It seems to be more of a hotel than a motel

stayed 3 nights at azure hotel in hualien city. best hotel stay todate in taiwan. comfortable room, hotel staff service is great and great breakfast selection. daily breakfast selection is varied with different selection daily with western, chinese and japanese selection. self-laundry was available but the dryer was too small and the clothing took longer to dry.

Super easy to find (300m)opposite Hualien train & bus station to Taroko. Visitors centre is also next to station. 6 bedded dorm on 4th floor(no elevator) was bright, airy & very spacious with bathroom attached. Small locker was provided inside dorm. Beds were clean, firm with duvet. Every floor had drinking water machine & common fridge. Only thing was a lack of shelves/table in bathroom /dorm. I enjoyed my stay at Mini Voyage & would return when visiting Hualien again. Thanks Ting for all your kind assistance including carrying my bag upstairs.
