“Gym/Pool amenities restrictions, gym/pool staff unplesant, rude and condencending- nonetheless the stay was pleasant.””
Pool/gym staff was unpleasant,rude and condescending. The gym and pool stated “opens at 6.30 am”, we came just before 7am to the gym and helped ourselves to the towels since no available staff was around. Roughly 1hr later (after done using the gym AND swimming) a staff finally came around and upon finding out about the said towels with a tight face and looking annoyed, came up to us and started berating and raising his voice in a condencending manner, asking who told us we can use the towels without informing him first, saying the security saw and informed him we’re “illegally” using the towels, saying to wait for him to register and give us the towels first while expecting that we should already know these things and implying this is considered as theft. First time staying at this hotel, we tried to be polite and civil towards the staff saying we werent aware of those rules/requirements to ask for the towels later because common sense said to be prepared before getting into the pool. Just for info, we registered to use ONE hand towel at the gym (registration sheet was just lying on the desk unattended) and returned immediately after use. However regrettably, forgot to register the other TWO pool towels from the gym (asked another family member to pick it up otw to the pool hence werent aware of the registration process) thinking it wasnt a big deal since the pool and gym is on the same floor therefore returning the towel shouldnt be a hassle. We had explained to the staff it was getting late having to wait around for pool/gym staff to come around as we would just like to go about and be done quickly, yet the staff kept on raising his voice, pushing the blame and doesnt acknowledge that him being LATE/NOT AROUND when needed is also a problem. We acknowledge and apologize our honest mistake for the part on forgetting to register the towels earlier and taking it upon ourselves to initiate but it is not an excuse to be rude and condescending. Therefore, to avoid dissatisfaction, PLEASE, state the rules of gym/pool amenities clearly and consicely and we will gladly comply, otherwise it feels unfair to be treated in such way especially since the staff came around only later than the operation time (6.30 am) and is unavailable for us to seek assistance from. Hope they can accept constructive criticism and improve on their methods when addressing customer and communication skills to radiate postive and welcoming energy. But other than that, the staffs at the reception counter were friendly and polite, the room was exceptionally tidy, comfortable and spacious. Overall, we did had an enjoyable and pleasant stay on our first time at this hotel.

Good apartment but needs more maintenance”
Been staying at the same hotel for the past few years and nothing changes much, maybe a bit of upgrades or repair needed for some of the room especially windows..the cleanliness on living room are quite good but the carpets inside the room are not properly cleaned. For someone who have kids that likes to put something inside their mouth may need to double check everything to make sure there are no leftovers or objects laying around. I still like to stay in the apartment since my kids love the view and the large space. I guess your curtain need to be washed and the sofa need to be cleaned as it creates alot of dust when being played with. I don't want to talk about some creepy stuff that i, myself encounter during my stay but i hope im not staying in the same room next time.
Convenient stay”
We had the twin room at the new wing with the view of the city. It was spacious, clean and comfortable for 2 person. Definitely worth the price as it offers the conveniency to access the shopping mall at the ground floor and the night food markets in walking distances. Perhaps if an improvement can be made; is to revise how to show the location of the room easier as most of the signage are a little bit confusing for first timers. I acknowledged the map stand Infront of the elevator however it does not navigate you directly to your room. If its possible to have a QR code system as an option to scan where their rooms are without too much explaining or printing for the staff at the front counter. either pdf form or if willing, animated format. Apart from that, all is good and we surely will stay there again.
Our enjoyable stay”
We stayed for 1 night for family of 5 adults. 3 spacious bedrooms and comfortable beds for us all. The amenities provided were great including shampoo. Huge living room combined with dining room and kitchen provides ample space for all 5 of us. Our price included breakfast and the choices of food were excellent. The best part of this hotel is of course the location. In the heart of Miri and easy access to the 2 shopping centres of The Imperial Mall & Permaisuri Imperial City Mall. At night Jalan Merpati will be bustling with people, food vendors and restaurants, all within walking distance to the hotel. This was indeed an enjoyable stay for us as a family.
