Best Amazing Ocean Front Resort!”

Best ocean front resort (along with it's sister The Shore Katathani -it's sister resort with private infinity pool villas). Secluded semi-private Kata Noi beach across from our room was always beautiful azure turquoise blue with good snorkeling at the northern and southern end. I love the 6 restaurants (all good especially Fisherman's Wharf and themed nightly buffets at Chom Talay) and 6 swimiming pools (try them all!) and 2 complimentary breakfast buffet restaurants with 20 to 30 delicious hot entrees and unlimited lattes cappucinos and expressos. Chom Talay is the larger one at the northern end of the resort while my favorite is the al fresco breakfast buffet SeaCret the breakfast buffet next to the ocean with patio. We were there during covid-19 so breakfast was served at the oceanfront Fisherman's Wharf (breakfast was still unlimited -- but the waitress served you your food you ordered -- covid-19 regulations require buffets to have a staff member at each buffet aisle to serve you the food you pick out or an employee to bring it all to your table so that customers never have to touch serving utensils at the buffet aisle. Throughout the resort is Great amazing service where you are treated like royalty with the courteous staff always helpful and smiling. The reception staff like Pla and Kazakhstani girl and servers especially are very nice and helpful -we were given complimentary upgrades to our room which was absolutely gorgeous oceanfront suite a few steps away from the beach with jacquzzi bathtub and shower. Highly recommend Katathani as the best 5-star resort in Phuket that's feels like it has a secluded semi-private beach Kata Noi yet is still close enough to civilization with the adjacent street next to Katathani with over 12 shops and restaurants if you wish to walk to nearby lively busy Kata Beach, it's only a 15-20 minute walk away or 2-minute taxi to the busy Kata Beach downtown main street area with hundreds of shops, bars, &

Beautiful resort with a secluded beach”

Katathani is awesome because it's so near Kata Noi beach, which is one of the quietest beaches in Phuket. We went there in May and almost had the whole beach to ourselves. The sunsets are just spectacular here. While it's secluded, it's also very near to outside restaurants so you have plenty of options for food. It's also only a 20 minute ride to Patong and other of the more touristy beaches if you want more nightlife but for me, I'd be satisfied staying at Katathani the whole time. There are plenty of activities (some of which are free) to keep you occupied and the facilities, especially the swimming pools, are amazing. The staff are ultra friendly and helpful. We're definitely going back again someday (soon hopefully). If you've got the money to spend, consider checking out Katathani Shore, the sister hotel of Katathani Beach Resort. It's pricey but it's one of the craziest (in a good way) rooms I've ever seen.

Great hotel, friendly staff and stunning location”

Katathani is a great resort if you want beautiful beaches, pools, relaxation etc, whilst still being close enough to the busier side of things should you want to go there. The resort itself is an hour drive south of the airport (700 Baht taxi ride) and is spread out along the whole bay. The beach is not technically private, but may as well be. It's a stunning beach, the water is so clear and it is all so clean and sparsely populated. Unlike Kata beach (a 15 minute walk north around the headland). The hotel has 7 pools, at least one just for adults and a couple designed for kids. There's plenty of sun loungers, but be warned: The resort is popular amongst German tourists who go out early to place their towels on them, before disappearing for breakfast! All of the rooms and pools are a stone's throw from the beach, where you can hire a sun longer for 200 Baht for the day (the ones in the resort are free). The rooms in the hotel are well appointed and most have some view of the sea. The mattresses can be quite hard, but the hotel will swap it to a softer one if you ask. The air con is quite noisy, but it's more of a drone and quite easy to tune out. In fact it does cover up some of the noise from the brick corridors in the morning! There are a number of great restaurants on site, offering a range of cuisines, and every night of the week there is a theme night in one of the restaurants. If you want to go a little more basic, there's a couple of restaurants just outside the resort. Alternatively a 2min taxi ride to Kata Beach will give you a whole range of options There is free internet in the lobby of the hotel (or you can pay to use the connection in your room). There is also a modern, well staffed gym and a games room with a table tennis and pool table (free to use).The staff at Katathani were extremely friendly and helpful, and the massages around the pool were great! I would highly recommend Katathani to anyone looking for a get away/romantic holiday.

Relaxing katathani resort”

The staffs at katathani resort are warm and friendly. The room is clean and spacious, you can request to change the bed and pillow if it's too soft or firm. Breakfast is serve at cinnamon restaurant located near Bhuri wing from 6-10am. There are 3 swimming pool to choose from,the one at Bhuri wing maybe heated as it's always at a constant temperature and is open till 8pm. There are a few tailtors, restaurants, massage place and minimarts just outside the resort. There's also 2 taxi stands outside the resort. To go anywhere outside the resort, a taxi is needed as its too warm to walk and it will take a good 15min up and downhill before theres any shops. Check out phong phang seafood restaurant which is near the Phuket zoo, it's cheap and fresh, great location during the day too. Also tan Tara day spa, 3hrs for is definitely worth it. Martin tailor outside the resort takes 3 days to get everything done. There is 2 shopping centre in Phuket, Jungceylon at patong about 20mins away and central festival 15mins away. Big C a supermarket is at central festival, try to get your daily needs from big c rather then the minimarts as they are quite costly. If there is a wedding at katathani resort, they might have fireworks too.

Lovely hotel in idyllic location”

we recently spent 3 days staying at katathani resort. really nice hotel, clean and staff were very attentive. we staying on the 3rd floor in a deluxe room. the room was big with a ks bed, flat screen tv and a dvd player (buy some movies from mr noon's in patong for 60thb each). there was a couch, coffee table and a little table & 2 chairs if you wanted to eat in the room. 2 of the mornings we had breakfast in our room - which cost an extra per person but well worth it and was a really nice brekky. the resort is really quiet at night time but the hotel runs a minibus and for a small charge will take you into patong for 2hrs and back to resort. we spent half our time in busy patong at another hotel so that we could do all our shopping and left the relaxing time until at the katathani which was so good. we ate in the resort only 1 night which was at a thai night and the food was ok but cost and you can get a really good meal outside resort for about half that price. also the hotel has free internet use, there are computers at various locations within the resort and the hotel even lets you print use the printer at no cost (rare). all in all a beautiful place, lovely beach, nice pools, food nice and polite staff,

Fantastic Location for a Perfect Resort”

Enjoyed eight wonderful nights at Katathani Phuket Beach Resort, the location is magnificient - situated at the end of a road is the resort that also sits alongside the fantastic Kata Noi surf beach with clear blue water and soft white sand. The restaurants are world class particulary the Italian 'La Scala' Restaurant. Breakfast was a great way to start each day - with the most delicious fruits. And last of all the staff were friendly from morning to evening. Would recommend this place to everybody and I am likely to revisit one day soon. Thankyou for a great holiday.

Fantastic Hotel”

WE have visited Phuket 7 times over tha past the past 3 years and have stayed at the a number of hotels on Karon, Kata and Katathani beaches. Hotels have all been 4* +. Katathani in our opinion is the best hotel. Service fantastic, location perfect, rooms nothing better from Karon to Katathani beach. Buffet certainly the most oppulant. If you want a hotel right on the beach with great pools and available pool chairs this is the hotel to stay. If you need some nightlife then stay in Patong. This hotel is perfect. Recommendation, stay in the Junior Suites which have the most amazing rooms and beautiful sea views. Massages, pedicures etc at the pool are great and priced very competitively.

Junior Suite at katathani”

Had an excellent stay at the Katathani beach resort. Location and facilities were excellent. Pools were great and beach was very nice and not over-crowded. Cocktails at the pool bars were quite expensive other than at happy hour. Beers and bar snacks/lunch were very cheap however. Poolside massages also well priced. Room was very good with a view of the sea and pool from the balcony. Dinner at the resort could be a bit expensive bt Thai standards. Probably only marginally cheaper than a nice restaraunt in Australia. Heaps of restraunts within walking (or best bet, hire scooters) distance which are very cheap with quality food. In some cases under $20 for a two course meal for two people with a couple drinks.... Would definately recommend katathani if with your partner or if you want to relax. If your single and looking to party you're probably better off being closer to patong beach but there are still plenty of bar and clubs in kata and patong is only 20 mins in a taxi or hired scooter or motorbike.

Phuket First Timers”

Being our first trip to South East Asia, and having just left 3 days behind us in a 5 star hotel in Singapore, the taxi ride from Phuket airport to the Resort was an eye opener to say the least. To walk into the reception area of the resort and be greeted with a moist face towel and a fruit punch, soon washed away the concern felt for the Thai people and their living standards in a modern world. We were made well aware that we were there to have a holiday and relax, with the staff escorting us to our lodgings highlighting the features of the resort. Unlike many European hotel and resort photos of accommodation, our Grand Suite in the Thani Wing looked just like that depicted on the website and was actually bigger then perceived. A pedicure; a manicure and a daily massage on the lawn, is a must. If you are one to frequent a chiropractor of Physio on a regular basis, you will recognise the value and the relative cost, so please tip these ladies well. They are very good. We were lucky enough to be present for the Songkran (Water) Festival, with child guests and staff entering into the fun of trying drown each other. The stage show and the festival dinner on the lawn in the evening was well worth the cost and effort of dressing up just a little. The breakfasts were excellent, and an evening at the onsite Thai Restaurant was well worth while. Sadly, we only had three days to enjoy the resort and the Thai people, but it was enough for us to make a promise to ourselves to return in the not to distant future. On the last day, we learnt the 'The Shore' development formed part of the Katathani Resort, and it maybe to these units that we return.

The experience grew to more positive day by day!”

We stayed at Hotel Katathani beach resort for 12 days and our overal experience was exellent. We was 2 married and grown up (50+) Norwegian coupples and we could compare this resort to a simmilar 5 star resort in the Laguna area (Bangtao bech, Phuket) last year. The facilities was more spread ou at this resort, but the garden area, the good location directly on the beach and the always friendly and serviceminded staff - gave us a best time hollyday ever. The nearby Kata beach town are was positive and there is several top rated resurants in the area, in adittion to 6 good restaurants at the hotel resort. We highly recomend this resort to all kinds of holiday travelleres, family, children and seniors!

Wonderful , relaxing atmosphere”

I travelled to the Katathani Resort with my husband and two sisters. Both our rooms were upgraded as they were doing work on the Bhuri Wing which we had booked. We were looking for a purely relaxing holiday and didn't want to look around much as we have been to Phuket several times before and previously stayed at a three star hotel which we were really happy with. This time my sister wanted to be right on the beach so we booked the Katathani. We were not disappointed!! The beach is superb and very clean. The views were amazing !!! There is nothing I can fault with the hotel..... loved the breakfast.

Week stay with 2 kids ”

Reading reviews is always fun and that one bad review always sticks however we struggled to fault the Katathani. We are a family with the a 6 year old and 11 year old and during the day it was great. The beach is clean, the sea is hot, the pools were clean and well maintained, the breakfast was great (on the beach front), the kids club was fantastic, the games room was what an 11 yr old required. The staff were Uber helpful and cheerful and we felt welcomed all the time . We stayed in the wing next to the kids pool and noise wasn't an issue plus are kids had 2 pools on the door step which was fab. Overall we loved it and moved to a villa to meet friends for the remainder of the holiday and we missed Kara Noi and swimming bin the sea with the sun setting over the water. Taxis in Phuket are the usual and if your reading other reviews wiggle room on price is limited. Kata Noi at night is quiet and the kids got a bit bored, beer and food is more expensive but just walk down the road

Perfect location, pristine beach, lovely hotel”

Katathani Beach Resort is really to be commended for running an excellent hotel! They really try very hard to have a thoughtful & sensitive environmental policy throughout the hotel. What impressed us most was the absolutely pristine beach - kept meticulously clean by the hotel staff, not a piece of rubbish on the beach & beautiful clean, clear water. This contrasts markedly with Kata main beach just over the headland which was quite dirty with a lot of rubbish & the sea much less clean (we went during monsoon season). We loved the beach at Kata Noi (hotel beach) & had chosen to go there for the surf (we visited in October). The sea was rough but we swam every day & the hotel lifeguards were excellent, very attentive & professional & we felt very safe. Our children loved the waves! The hotel itself is excellent, very spacious with fantastic facilities. Our children loved exploring all the different swimming pools, playing Pétanque & tennis. Having massage ladies in the hotel gardens is a lovely idea (although they could be a bit more flexible in offering shorter sessions for children). We stayed in a junior suite in Thani wing with a fantastic view straight out across the pool to the sea, I would definitely recommend staying in Thani wing fir great views & proximity to all restaurants. Our room was fine - a bit cramped for 4 people & it did smell a bit musty when we arrived, but it was the rainy season. The housekeeping staff were wonderful, very kind & attentive. The breakfasts were good with lots of choice. We ate other meals both inside & outside hotel (there is a stunning restaurant up on the headland). Food was fine in hotel, a bit pricey. The bars were great & the live music was a really nice touch (although the Andaman Big Band in the Wed night buffet was way, wat too loud, you couldn't have a conversation...). Overall we loved this hotel & would highly recommend it mainly for the perfect location, beautiful beach & very friendly staff.

Exceptional stay at the Katathani Resort”

We were so blown away with the beautiful Katathani Resort .. After more than 1 hour ride from Phuket Intl Airport to the Kata Resort, we were welcomed with comfortable suite that was already provided and prepared for us. Check in and check out were a breeze.... all taken care of under 15mnt. Eventhough we experienced 2 days of thunder storms during our 8D7N stay at the resort, it could not diminish its charm. Our kids were over the moon with the kids club, kids pool and the beautiful beach... the view of the beach n sky are so breath taking. The breakfast buffet varieties may not be too many and varied , but it accommodate our needs. The suite was very spacious and the huge bath tub is a joy for us to dip in after a long day at the beach n pool. One thing i found lacking was the smile of the staffs on the ground... the reception staffs were friendly and helpful and full of smiles. the one at the restaurants and the beach side were on the grumpy side.

Fantastic all round experience!”

First of all, we stayed in the Bhuri Wing, which is small wing at the edge of the hotel, rather than in the main complexes. We were lucky in that we had a ground floor room which opened up onto a small pool. Very quiet and intimite, away from the hustle and bustle of the main complex but very close to the breakfast room! Second, the grounds are immaculate - at least they were when we travelled in early October. Looked after fantastically. Third, the staff were brilliant. We were just one of many visitors but were made to feel welcome by everyone from the receptionists to the doormen. The staff were polite, gentle and very helpful. Fourth, the beach was excellent - no litter, very few stones and shells. The resort is at the end of the road on Kata beach, and the road is not a thoroughfare, so there are no people who are simply passing through, or traffic particularly. It was our first trip to Phuket, but we would not hesitate for one moment to return to Katathani. We would ask to be put on the ground floor in the Bhuri Wing, which made a big difference.

The Katathani Beach Resort is adjacent to a superb sandy beach in the southern part of Phuket. It offers generously proportioned rooms, excellent pools and pool-side services, and fantastic views across the Andaman Sea. There are several dining room options, all with sea views and the facilities are all in excellent condition and very well maintained. The Katathani Beach Resort is a great location for a short holiday or a longer break from day-to-day life.

Great Hotel, with excellent location”

we were extremely pleased with our choice we made picking up the hotel for our vacation. kathatani hotel beach resort is excellent place if you want to enjoy a peacefull and a luxury vacation in phuket. kata noi beach is seated aside from the crazyness in patong but still close enough to get in there with no time. katathani resort was very well maintained and the stuff was very polite. beautiful gardens,nice and clean pools, right on the beach, what else you can ask for.... we would defenitely consider staying there in our next visit to phuket.

Great hotel with the best beach in Phuket”

I travelled to Phuket with my wife and baby and chose Katathani because of its great location directly on the beach and since its rooms are superb. The staff at Katathani are really fantastic, especially their assistant manager Jakub - he really made our stay in Phuket memorable and he put in an extra effort to ensure maximum comfort for my family. The dining at Katathani is also great with efficiant, professional staff. Although Katathani is a large resort, you never get the feeling that it is overcrowded.

Katathani Beach resort - Recommended”

We booked the holiday through Agoda after reading reviews of the resort and a colleague having stayed there recommending it. We flew from Hong Kong as we were staying there for a while beforehand. Stayed at (new?) the Bhuri Wing for a week in January. Our very first impression was one of disappointment as the hotel and beach are separated by a road used by the building site vehicles accessing the new development on the hillside to the side of the hotel. Aside from this inconvenience we soon found that the Katathani facilities and staff were just what we were looking for. Staff were polite and helpful at all times. The swimming pools were clean and enjoyable with our 4 year old son enjoying exploring the different parts (bubble pool, child's area, etc). We went to the beach late afternoons when the sun was not so hot, waves exciting sometimes which was fun. Beach clean with food etc., available from several shops along the stretch. The seafood restaurants in the road along from the hotel were quite good too, with plenty of fresh stock each day. I do like the seafood fried rice served in a pineapple :) My wife said the crab was good. Hotel food was good with a decent selection. Buffet breakfast was everything you'd expect, very satisfying. Plenty of choices of restaurants in the hotel to choose from in the evenings but some may require booking in advance. We went on a one-day trip to Kai island which was very nice, beautiful beaches, feeding the fish in the shallows. Didn't go to Phi Phi as it would have been a longer speedboat trip which was just unsuitable for us this time. Journey from hotel to port was longer than expected though, almost an hour in a minibus (was a Saturday morning though so maybe more traffic?). Did the elephant trek (quite local) which we all enjoyed as we had never got so close to elephants before. Overall we all enjoyed our break there and wold recommend it to others. Paying a bit extra for the car to pick up from the airport was worth it too.

This resort has the WOW factor”

We visited Katathani for a quiet holiday away from the hussle and bussle from the busy Phuket main center and that's exactly what we got, the hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. The grounds were spottless, the pools inviting, the variety at breakfast was vast, everything that you could ever wish for. The girls in the beauty salon did the best blowdry, and the spa was pure relaxation, on the night of my birthday we ate at the Thai restarant, wow, the food was yummy and the staff produced a cake and sang happy birthday, a lovely surprise, the beach out the front of the resort was clean and stunning. We would not hesitate in recommending Katathani.
