Yes, if you read reviews on this hotel it is very clear that the staff are very helpful & friendly, and will go out of their way to assist you on whatever you need. I think that is what you would expect from most hotels, especially those that are rated 4 star or above, and I have found that type of service in most places I've stayed in S.E. Asia, so I give a thumbs up to the service. However in other areas of our stay we found to many things wrong with our rooms, or things that we where dissatisfied with from this hotel. In our room the curtains for the balcony doors where stained in many places, I would imagine they haven't been cleaned for sometime, our safe was unusable, twice I had to go downstairs to get them to unlock it, I finally gave up and we just decided to lock valuables up in our suitcase when we went out. The safes are of older type and do not show the code as you put it in. The air cond remote was totally useless, even if I put the temp up to 28-29°C the cold air would not shutoff, and the fan speed wouldnt decrease. Just another item I gave up on and just turned off at night so we wouldn't freeze to death. Rooms are fairly small for the price and the bathroom is separated by 2 sliding doors that allow light into the room. The towels are quite worn out, usable but just not what you'd expect for the price. The railing in the hallway and on the balcony are very low, they even have signs up to watch your children, I don't think it even came up to my waist, I'm 6ft. All 3 of our groups rooms where on the 3rd floor, so we used the elevator a lot, but it is very slow and very small. Breakfast was average, nothing to ge overly excited about. But what I really didn't like was sitting on the ground floor, which is actually the basement. Yes you eat breakfast in a basement environment, no view of the outdoors, not pleasant at all and very small area. Being we where 3 couples, sometimes we had to wait to get tables to sit together. So to sum it all up I would say I was disappointed with what we got for what we paid, but even if the price was less by half price, I doubt I'd stay here again. I think the main reason people come to this hotel is because it sits on the riverside and is near the Old Town, and not knowing Hoi An if your a 1st timer, it kinda attracts you.
