Very nice place if you like the location”
Staid in superior room, October 2015 When in Chiang Mai, I always stay in this hotel as they sometimes have very good prices, which allow those on a budget to get a taste of luxury at very reasonable rate. The location is perfect for me : I love the area which has very few tourists, and is close to some places that I like to visit. However I understand that somme could feel the location not convenient, despite the fact that the hotel offers a free shuttle service every evening to and from the Night Bazarr area. Also close to the Chang Phuak Bus station, and to some very lively areas of the town. They have a nice quiet pool which few people use, big clean rooms with all the amenities (mine had a shower cubicle and no bath tub, which I love). The staff is obviously trained to be friendly and efficient, and I really could not say anything bad about any one of those whom I had to deal with.

4 days of beautiful rest”
I have been many times to Mercure Chiang Mai from the time it was known as Novotel and this time I was happily surprised to be told that we have been upgraded. The room has more furniture and definitely more comfotable and pleasant.Although it is not near the famous night market of Anusan it was very easy for us to hail a passing tuk tuk and the price to Anusan is only 30 Baht. And the ride is so pleasant and we passed by so many interesting places. The hotel surrounding is very quiet even though it is situated next to Tops Suoermarket where one can buy almost anything.

A good hotel in a quiet location”
The Mercure Hotel Chiang Mai is hotel is about 10-15 minutes taxi ride from the airport at a cost of 120 Baht (2.50 GBP) but with prior notice they will provide a shuttle but to pick you up at the airport. It is located about half a mile north of the moat. There is a large car park outside and a supermarket next to the hotel. Bank card machines are across the street. There is nothing of tourist interest in this area of Chiang Mai although having said that quite a lot of the gay venues are north of the moat. Heterosexual nightlife is generally to the south of the moat and a lot of it is around the night market. The hotel runs a shuttle bus to the market but taxi/tuk-tuk’s are relatively cheap. This is not a new hotel but management have made a bit of an effort to keep up to date although in this computer age a few more power sockets near the dressing table or work table would be useful. The rooms were spacious, clean and quite comfortable, in addition to the work surface/dressing table attached to the wall there was a large table and chair as well as a small coffee table. The bed was large and the pillows good. There was two free bottles of water and free coffee and tea making facilities as well. The pool is a good size, well maintained and has an attendant and towels there. There is 24hr room service and they charge 100 Baht (2 GBP) for the shuttle bus to the airport. Having stayed at a lot of different hotels in Chiang Mai over the years this is my first stay in Mercure and since I normally hire a jeep or car when I am here I believe I will use this hotel more in the future rather than the less comfortable hotels at similar prices nearer to the shopping areas.

Brand Hotel at affordable price”
Mercure Chiang Mai is my choice hotel when I visit Chiangmai. It is conveniently located near a night market, plenty of street side stall food at night. I could easily hail transport who ply along Chotana Road. The hotel has a swimming pool. Regret that hotel does not throw in free wifi but it is paid facility (they should catch up with newer hotels and offer free wifi). Good expereince, as before.

1) Affordable comfortable hotel ”
This time we came in search of a good rest and we were not disappointed. The friendliness of the staff contributed much to our peaceful rest. We did not patronise the restaurant but we understand that they offer good Lanna dishes. Next time we will try. Yes yes there will certainly be a next time because we have fallen in love with Mercure Chiang Mai. We had previously stayed at Meridien a couple of times.

Nice clean hotel not far from city center”
I enjoyed my stay at the Mercure a lot. The hotel is medium sized (about 170 rooms), staff performance is excellent, rooms are very clean and spacious. Everything looked bright and was new. My room 552 was on the highest level and and was about 35 square meters. It has a working desk, a fridge, a safe for valuables, water boiler for coffe or tea.Flat screen TV and a seting area.. Attached bathroom and two queens size beds. Wifi signal was strong. There is a renovation going on until end of August on the 4thfloor. This caused some inconvenience now and then during daytime. The location is not far from the center. (Chiang Puak gate). And from 19:30 therte is a free shuttle service to the nightmarket. Supermaket right next to the hotels which sells everything you need. The staff performance was excellent, efficient and friendly.

Good rooms an service”
I have been staying many times at Mercure Chiang Mai Hotel. It is well managed hotel with helpful staff every-where. The hotel have no longer Bloomberg at the television program and the TV-sets are old. Wi-fi is not free and the price is not cheap. Many hotels in Chiang Mai has now free wi-fi. It would be perfect, if the hotel would change the policy and offer free wi-fi. I will return to the hotel anyway again.

mercure”
The location of Le Mercure could not be better as it is right next to the Night Bazaar in the centre of Chiang Mai. The Hotel restaurants are excellent and very good value for money. The staff are definitely five star standard. I will stay at this hotel again sometime in the future.

A good medium range hotel.”
I have been using the Mercure Hotel Chiang Mai many time over a number of years. It is located a little bit out of the way north of the moat but when in Chiang Mai I usually rent a car so the location is not a problem for me but the hotel have a shuttle bus on the hour starting from 7pm going to the night market and with prior arrangement they will pick you up at the airport. The hotel is relatively cheap but has a nice normal sized rectangular pool that is reasonably quiet and big rooms with good walk in showers. There is a Tops supermarket nearby and the staff are very friendly. The beds are big and comfortable and the breakfast is reasonable. On this visit I find they have now got Sky news and Premier League football from the UK on the TV's in the rooms so that is a big bonus and an attraction that has made me happy to stay here for longer than I had intended. Most other hotels only have UK Premier League football in their bars and not in the rooms so watching a game at midnight or 2am is a problem but not in Mercure.

Excellent”
Hotel staff at reception, tour desk and door were friendly, helpful always polite. Service standard is excellent! Quality of room and its full facilities in hotel is highly satisfactory. Its location at Chang Phuak makes it so convenient to move around, shop (Tops Supermarket is downstairs) and eat (lots of food stalls in walking distances including a large market).

A small hotel with friendly ambient”
I traveled to Chiang Mai for a business meeting. The stay in Mercure Chiang Mai was great. The staffs were quite helpful. In fact, we got help in managing golf reservation in a short notice. Wifi and even basic office amenities were free, a big plus for people doing meeting. Definitely will come back for future event in the city.

Nice hotel”
I liked my stay in the Novotel Chiang Mai, because it is a very nice hotel with a beautiful swimming pool. The room was done everyday, very clean and well decorated. The breakfast was superb. Whenever I come back to Chiang Mai the Novotel will be my hotel.

Good value for the money”
I am a returning guest to Mercure Chaing Mai Hotel because the room is clean and big. The staff is very friendly. I have only a small thing, that is not satisfying and that is the internet-connection. First of all it is not easy to use and there is problem with the connection to the server in the hotel.

Novotel Chiang Mai Hotel Chiang Mai”
My girlfriend and I had a journey to Chiang Mai and decided to stay in Novotel Chiang Mai. My girlfriend had her birthday during our stay. With the help from the Hotel Assistant Manager, I could prepare a very delicious and beautiful cake for my girlfriend before we went back to the room, and she was surprised and felt very happy. Chiang Mai is small and in my point of view it is cheap and easy to get to the hotel from night bazaar, train station and bus station, although the hotel seems quite far away from the city centre on the map. The cons are cleaninliness of the bed and facility. The pillow was not really clean. Hair dryer and slippers were not prepared. However, we got them immediately after contacting the front desk. No free internet connection in business centre and hotel lobby was disappointing althought I could use it at a very cheap rate. To conclude, I am satisfied with the hotel.

The hotel location is very good and transportation is provided for a fair time as well. The bed was spacious and the room was big enough. The room service was good as well, i would visit the same hotel for sure when ever i visit chiang mai, my father really liked the massage packages over there.

Good value, great staff and comfortable room. Poor breakfast”
We stayed at the Mercure for a change as we nearly always stay near the night market. The hotel's location on the 107 road makes it suitable for visiting many of the out of town attractions such as tiger kingdom, Queen Sirikrit Botanic Gardens and many others. The hotel is 15 minutes by multi taxi to the night market and old town. The room was clean and comfortable and we were given a free upgrade. The pool was nice but the sunbeds could do with a cushion as they were very hard and uncomfortable. The staff were quietly competent and very helpful, most professional staff I have found in Chiang Mai. However the breakfast was not good on any measure. Food all cold, cold batch fried eggs, cold hard bacon, even the Thai food was cold, no fresh salad available, stewed tea and no crusty bread. Not the standard you expect from the Mercure. We will stay here again but will not take the breakfast next time

Good hotel, good value”
We had to arrange a last minute stay over Christmas so having read the favourable reviews on Agoda we gave the Mercure a try. I am very pleased that we did and we shall be regular customers in future. To whoever manages the hotel I'd give full marks! The place is not new - but it is clean, comfortable, well managed and has VERY pleasant and efficient staff. I constantly had the feeling that there is a guiding hand throughout the place who is thoughtful and cares about providing the guests with a pleasant stay. A 3 star hotel with a golden heart!

Very nice place to stay over expectation from the price we pay. The location is good to Chiang Mai hot spots but not too busy crowded. The personnels are super nice and some of them looks very great on appearance and personality, they have a very good service mind afterall. I'm sure to come back again.
