Best bang for your buck in Chiang Mai (Old City)!”

We found ourselves back in Chiang Mai, this time at Nanya. Took the gamble and it paid off. This is a budget hostel but does not feel like one. Feels like a standard hotel. The female staff in the mornings make the stay totally worth it. Always smiling and greeting you. The pool is probably the biggest selling point in our eyes. You won't find a hotel in Old City at this price point that offers a pool. It is very clean and they are constantly maintaining it/the property. Rooms are basic but clean. The property doesn't "advertise" breakfast but they have complimentary: toast, cereal, coffee, tea and juice in the mornings. Wifi is kind of weak in the rooms (falls in and out) but the lobby connection is very strong. The property even held onto our bags for a week while we were on a road trip. Overall really liked this property and booked here several more times while in the city!

The best budget accommodation in the Old City”

We've stayed in eight hotels in Chiang Mai over three visits, and Nanya is our favorite so far. The value is superb. It is a rare to find all of these at one place: - Very comfortable bed - Pool that gets sun all day - Inside the old city - Under $30 per night On top of that, the staff is super friendly, our room has been cleaned every day, there is a nice area with tables in the lobby, and there is a basic breakfast (coffee, cereal, toast). WiFi is fast in the lobby and by the pool. Our room has had spotty WiFi coverage but it works most of the time. Still much better than some other hotels where we've stayed. Location is on a quiet street not far from the main street through the old city. Not our favorite part of the old city but everything is close anyway so it works out great. Definitely would stay here again in future visits.

Amazing value for money!!!”

We decided to book Nanya as a last minute emergency day in Chiang Mai and for the stressful situation we were in this place really lifted our spirits!!! The staff., omg, they were phenomenal!! Printed off the important docs we needed without hesitation and were super welcoming and smiley all the time :) the pool is big and is in the sun ALL Day with around 10 sunbeda around the pool. They have your own laundry facility as well as cheap large changs for 70thb !! The room was basic but larger than expected and the bed was super comfy. We paid 50aud a night in a previous hotel and it was nowhere near as good as this!! We should of stayed here the entire time! Super quiet and peaceful too, and its only a street away from the start of the night market and close to the old city walls. Can't recommend it enough, absolute gem and a total bargain! Plus you get free coffee and snacks every morning 7-10am for free!!

Best staff”

I love this hotel! The staff is the best I've ever experienced, such lovely girls. They helped me so much and were always incredibly welcoming. Even if the hotel wasn't good I'd go back just for them, but the hotel is very good. I stayed on many different occasions, both in a private room and in the dorm. It's clean and modern while feeling very comfortable. I loved the beds! The pool is clean and nice. Nanya is in the old city but it's down a quiet street so no noise bothers you at all. To me it was the perfect location. Really I can't thank the staff enough! Every time I'm in Chiang Mai I'll stay here 100%

Best bed in two months!”

In two months of backpacking around SE Asia, this was far and away the comfiest mattress we slept on. Sheets were soft, pillows were great. The room itself was spacious, immaculately clean and the washroom was updated and very obviously well maintained. The hotel is in a great location in the old city, just off of Walking Street and a short walk or Tuktuk ride to most everything you'd want to see. The pool is cool, but incr doubly refreshing even on days when it isn't scorching out. Not over chlorinated as some hotel pools we recently experienced. On top of all this, the staff was genuinely friendly and helpful , as are most Thai in Chiang Mai. We would jump at the chance to recommend this hotel to anyone we knew travelling to Chiang Mai.

Clean hotel, convenient location, and friendly staff”

We stayed at the Nanya twice during our time and Chiang Mai and highly recommend it. The hotel was clean and I believe it was built somewhat recently. The staff was friendly and helped us out anytime we needed anything. It's in a pretty convenient location and is located inside the old town which was nice. My only complaint was that the beds were pretty firm, but that's pretty much the norm in southeast Asia. Overall we had a great stay and highly recommend staying there if you're a budget traveler looking for a clean and convenient place to stay.

Amazing!!”

Nanya was such a standout, the staff were amazing the place was clean and always being cleaned. It had a cool atmosphere and the pool was such a welcome surprise after a hot day in Chiang Mai. Highly recommended. We went out of the city for a few days but always came back to Nanya. Thanks for the stay will definitely stay again if back in Chiang Mai

Nice Quiet But Very Basic Hotel with Swimming Pool and Hostel”

I rather like this hotel. The staff is helpful, and speak English. The rooms are basic - no decorations on the walls or furniture - just a bed , desk, small refrig and two complimentary bottles of water. It's located a bit far from the action in the old city but that comes with peace and quiet. There are two parts of Nanya - the three story hotel part and the hostel part, which is right beside the pool, so you have a good mix of guest, with backpackers and older travelers. And the price is very reasonable. In New York City where I am from I would have to pay at least 7 times as much for similar accommodations, if they existed - which they don't. In short I highly recommend a stay at this property.

A home away from home”

Thanks to the staff of Nanya Hotel, I had a wonderful stay in Chiang Mai. The ladies at the front desk are helpful and polite. The location of the hotel is great. Wat Phrasing is just in 5-minute walking distance. Highly recommend this hotel who wants to enjoy the quietness in the old town area.

The staff at Nanya hotel were lovely! Very friendly and great service when we needed help with anything! The place was kept very clean and the location was good. I would recommend this to anyone visiting the old city in Chiang Mai.

Nanya ”

Great hotel great location everything within walking distance in the old town. Has the pool which gets the sun all day till sunset if you feel like chilling by the pool to top up your tan. For the price your paying your getting a nice clean room with comfortable bed. Staff very friendly and helpful with any queries or if your booking any excursions. Stayed here 2018 and booked my excursions through hotel. Then was back this year and stayed here twice while travelling through Chiang Mai because it's a great hotel and you know what your getting. Great value for money.

More expensive on weekends”

For a short stay this is fine. The girls at reception are helpful and speak good English. The rooms are very clean with daily housekeeping. There is a small fridge and small T.V. I stayed on the top floor, for the first few days in room 401. There is a small window overlooking the nice swimming pool. The internet never really worked. One night I was woken by a very drunk guy banging on the door to the next room, I told him to shut up, he did at least. Nothing one can do about the quality of the other guests. He checked out the next day. The girls at reception said he'd brought back two bar girls. Idiot. So even though the hotel is in a peaceful location there can be disrespectful guests, but this applies to any hotel. I liked this hotel and Chiang Mai and extended my stay. I had to change rooms to 408, but then the internet worked very well. It's a half hour walk to the night-life area of down-town Chiang Mai, but closer to nice Wats to visit. Be prepared to pay more at weekends, but I thought it was generally good value for money.

Clean room and great location”

I enjoyed my stay at Nanya Hotel. It has all you would expect from an affordable hotel in the city center plus a swimming pool. The room and bathroom were both clean and the room has a TV, fridge etc. The swimming pool was a good size (not just a plunge pool). The only downside was no parking but it was easy to park a bike next door or out on the road. Very convenient for local amenities, sightseeing and some great restaurants within walking distance. Given the price and facilities I would definitely stay again.

Lovely stay in a convenient zone”

The hotel is conveniently located inside the old city, very close to the main temple. The swimming pool is quite cool. Stuff is kind and helpful if prompted, I got a good deal on the bus to Pai. Cons: no elevator for those who can't walk easily. Perhaps not the cleanest, but fair. For the price you will not find a better deal in old town chiang mai

Great place”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Nanya Hotel in Chang Mai. We found it to be in a good location from which to explore the city. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. We appreciated the light breakfast that was available. The staff were very helpful and when booking excursions through them you get a discount which is great. Would recommend this hotel.

Great place for a week in the old city”

We really enjoyed Nanya hotel. The location is in a great place that is quiet but close to anything you want to see. I recommend renting a scooter to tour around the city (the hotel helped us book one and gave us a discount!). The staff was lovely and helped us with anything we needed. Rooms are spacious and the morning toast and coffee was a nice start to each day. Only bad thing that happened to us was someone stole our umbrella from the hallway when we stepped in for 10 minutes... not the hotel's fault though, of course!

Good Location ”

Nanya Hotel is in the old city and near the tourist attractions. The room is clean and spacious. It has all basic facility you need. The swimming pool of the hotel is good for you to cool down after a long day trip.

Clean and simple ”

An easy walk to the weekend markets, temples and restaurants (avoid Sukon restaurant... but Mr Kai restaurant is lovely) There's lots to do in Chiang Mai (Elephant sanctuarys, Ziplining, cooking classes, factories - silk/jewellery/wool/handmade crafts all well worth a visit) The staff at Nanya were very friendly and helpful. The room, though it had no windows, was nice, clean and comfortable. The pool, though a bit salty, is a nice touch for an inland hotel. Will definitely recommend and stay there again.

Comfortable rooms and excellent value for money!”

Staff were excellent and made you feel very welcome at Nanya Hotel - almost everything can be booked at reception. Our room was clean and had everything we needed, the pool was also great to get a break from the heat. Wifi was not the best for us on the third floor, but was fine in the hotel lobby and by the pool. Complimentary breakfast items were a lovely addition, would definately stay again!

good value, so nice to have a swimming pool as it was very hot while I was in Chiang Mai! Always looked forward coming back here! very nice staff, helpful in setting up transportation to Pai. they can also book other tours, etc. location is nice, not far from Sunday walking street and can easily walk around old city or get a tuk tuk wherever you need to go. there is a nice free breakfast snack of toast and cereal with some coffee in the mornings. nice option to have, especially if you have an early tour and no time to go for breakfast. would definitely stay here again.
