The location is perfect midway between El Nido town and Las Cabanas Beach and the view from the hostel is incredibly beautiful! The beds were super comfy and the showers and toilets were super clean. The food is also amazing and shout out to the chef who prepared my dinner especially for me every night after the kitchen was closed so that I could eat after work - you are an actual legend! I’ve been in Palawan twice last year. You wanna know why? Location/Facilities I usually booked for dorm and the bed is really nice and comfortable. Shared toilets are always clean. This is one of the factor I am looking for a hotel so thumbs up for this. The view is amazing. Literally in-front of the beach and it has an amazing sunset view. The location is close to the center you can just get a tricycle to go there. Food/drinks Food is good for its price and they do have a good selection. I highly recommend to ask Ken the bartender for the drink she created it’s really good. Drinks are not expensive and taste really good. Tours I always enjoy island hopping with them. All the tour guide are funny, entertaining and they will make sure that you will be drunk if you lose at the game heading back to the hostel haha. Make sure you book a tour with them you will definitely gonna love it. Staff/Crew I love all the crew. They are nice, welcoming, friendly and I feel like I’m part of the family. They are very helpful just ask them anything you need. They are lovely and good people. Atmosphere It’s very social hostel. If you are solo traveler like me it’s definitely the hostel for you. They organize different kind of activities and games everyday and it’s a good way to socialize and make friends with people. Exceptional staff”
Just checked out after a wonderful 9 night stay at Outpost. From the moment I walked in, there was a warm welcome from all the staff, who instantly made me feel at home. This was especially appreciated, since I'm a solo traveller and was a little out of my comfort zone at first. From start to finish every staff member always had a smile on their face and would go above and beyond to help with anything. Special shout out to Francis, EJ and Lyka - absolute legends. The rooms were very clean, modern and spacious. The shower facilities were also clean. The only downside was at times the water would cut out and we had to wait a little for water to be switched back on, but it would often be back on within 20 minutes. Very sociable place and easy to make friends. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. Jamie x
Disappointing ”
I had really been looking forward to my stay at Outpost Hostel. The bar was great, the island hopping tours were so much fun, and the staff were friendly. But sadly, my experience with the service left me feeling really frustrated. I booked a 3-night stay in a 12-person room from December 12-15, knowing I’d have to change rooms on the 15th for the last night of my stay. However, on December 14, while I was out on Tour A, the staff moved my belongings without my approval. I didn’t pack my things beforehand because the room change was supposed to happen on the 15th, not the 14th. This was completely inappropriate. Touching and moving someone’s things without notice or consent is unacceptable. I understand the need for room changes or maintenance, but I should have been informed well in advance. I wasn’t able to check my messages while I was on the tour, and coming back to find my things already moved made me feel disrespected and violated. I was so frustrated and uncomfortable after this incident that I decided to check out and find another hostel. I no longer felt safe or at ease leaving my belongings there. I hope management takes this seriously and improves communication and respect for guests in the future, because this kind of treatment is not okay.
