Macau SAR hotels & places to stay

Location, location, location. This hotel is in the centre of the city centre, a minute's walk to the Lisboa Casino. Within walking distance to all the main sights and eateries. The staff were really friendly and accomodating. (The night receptionist guy might seem a bit gruff but he is actually nice.) The daytime receptionist and staff were really helpful with keeping our luggage while we went sightseeing, and helped us out when we were lost and came back to use the hotel wifi! Thanks again, guys! The room is small and yes, the matresses are a bit hard, but the facilities are very clean and well-maintained. I don't think you could do any better within this price range. Btw, the bathroom, although clean and well-equipped, was a milky-mirrored stall inside the room. My friend and I had no problem with this, but for people who need their privacy, this may be something to consider. All in all, I think we made the right choice in choosing Happy Family, and would definitely recommend to a friend.

We had a great stay here, the hotel is new. It was very clean, good facilities and staff. It is actually just a walking distance to Senado Square so if you want to stay in the center of everything then it is the best hotel for you. Everything was convenient and perfect! I would definitely recommend this hotel to my family and friends. For my next visit in Macau I will surely stay here again. Keep up 👍

The hotel could be accessed thru public transport system from the Macau ferry, strategically located. Just a few walks is the Ponte 16, ruins of Saint Paul, and other attractions Macau has to offer. The hotel was brand new, just a few days away from its opening so you could still smell the varnish and paints, wifi still being installed, but not a big problem. Food kiosks are just around the corner with few steps away from the hotel. Staff were cool and friendly.

Luckily I could speak Mandarin - it really paid off during my stay in Macao. Also, good thing that they hired English, Mandarin speaking staffs at the reception counter but like us, they are also new to Macau City.. therefore, couldn't help us much. The old man was the most friendly and helpful while the mid-age ladies chatting at the reception area are the biggest turn-offs! Everything on the surface is perfect in the room but under the beds - they're not. No problem with hot water, hot shower, aircon - except the remote. Only bath towels and tissues, rubber slippers, automatic kettle are provided. Mostly Chinese programs are on TV. So far, our things are secured inside the room. This hotel is OK for adventurers like us - who prefer sightseeing, shopping & food tasting instead of going to casinos. TIP: Take advantage of free shuttle rides provided by big casino hotels to and from Ferry Terminal. Beware of TAXI DRIVERS who will take you for a long ride. Buses are also very convenient - except you have to pay minimum of MOP3.2 - it will take some time for travelers like us to get use to the transport system. Most Macau people - older ones especially are grouchy. Better seek help from Filipinos in the area.

We chosed this hotel coz i heard it is in the city. very convenient, senado squares which is tourist place for shopping for cheap stuffs, local foods,is just next to the hotel, and even the famous "yee soon dan nai dessert and famous egg tart is also nearby, if u need mcd, there is 2 mcd near the hotel. will come back to stay at this hotel again for our next trip, as we can go back hotel anytime when our kids are tired. and also the food in this area is around mop 20-30, whereas if u stayed in those venetian, galaxy.... that area, the food in the food court is selling around mop55 onwards. the taxi in macao is quite costly, they will charge additional mop5 on top of the meter reading when u travel btwn taipa and city, meter will start at mop13, most of the time will cost us mop35-40.

We had an overnight stay only. We booked the 5 bed room. Priced at around USD 117. If you have internet, google maps is your friend. You can take the bus from the airport. If you like to live a little cheaper, we took the free Hotel Shuttlebus to Wynn Macau. The drop off is just in front of the President Hotel. There is a bus stop a few steps away. You can ask someone where the bus stop for 10A or 3A. From there, we took the public bus 10A (you can also take 3A). There is free wifi in the bus. You can track where you are through your friend, Google Maps. Don't forget to press the stop button before you're desired stop (learned that the hard way but Google Map was my friend, so it's okay). So moving on to the review. If you prefer hotels with an elevator for convenience there is a hotel beside this one. This cheap hotel only has stairs. You have to walk up the stairs before you get to the front desk. Good thing the rooms are only on that floor. Checking in was quick and easy. Checking out was easy too. There's a key deposit of 100MOP. You can get it back after checking out. They allow leaving the luggage there after check out if you still wish to roam around Macau. Bathroom was okay. Beds and comforts were clean. Overall it was a good place to crash. If i were to comeback, I'd try another place but if I couldn't find cheap accommodation-I'd book here again.

The stay at the hotel was very nice. I booked an executive room and was unaware that I could have gone straight up to the 16th floor to check in. The speedy checkout process in the business lounge was nice and fast. I was unable to find a shuttle from the airport to the hotel. They appear to share a shuttle with another chain with Emperor labeled on the outside of the van. Much smaller than the big chains vans. They did have a shuttle to the ferry terminal which was good. For those with onward travel to HKG you have to ensure your time between landing and flight departure is at least 2 hours. I was unable to take the direct ferry to the airport because I would have only had 1.5 hours.

i'm very particular person and read the advisor review before booking the hotel. at first i was in doubt, but i have change my mind 360' when i reach there. the room is small but the designs and facilities are very complete, especially toiletres they provide 2 sets which other hotel will only give 1 set of comb, toothbrush, shower cap, laundry bag. the room is small but it come with bath tub. clean and feel safe. only reception can communicate in english but they will try all their best to understand your needs. taxi service is very fast too. room service for meal are superb and money value.

The standard single room which I stay for 5 nights is rather small, but the bed is large enough for myself and the cleanliness of the room is superb, fully equipped with amenities, kettle, hair dryer etc. They clean the room every morning Aircon works well and there's English Channel on tv that I can watch everyday. The drawer big enough to hang our clothes This hotel is very near to various ancient landmarks of Macao, easy to go by bus to every direction. The only complain I have is a cleaning service lady with short hair who is very rude , the rest are very friendly. Overall, I'm fully satisfied staying in this hotel! From the airport you can take bus #MT1 and stop at Freirra Amaral in front of Grand Lisboa Casino. From there then take bus #7 stop at Kiang Wu Hospital (5 stops from Freirra Amaral) then walk about 3 minutes to McDonald's and the Holiday Hotel is very near to Super market 711. On the way back to the airport you have to go to the bus stop in front of Post Office (10 minutes walk from the hotel) then take either bus number 8, 9, 9B, 12, 22, 25, 25B (only 3 stops) to Freirra Amaral. From there you must take bus number MT1 to Macao International Airport. Please take note, bus #MT1 only available every 20 minutes from 07:00 am.

the room furniture is quite old n needs renovation , room is clean but a little small for couple with children. hotel is away from the city center so no convenience stores nearby , the location is beautiful and has portuguese touch in the nearby houses. staff is friendly and very helpful especially the concierge person. , overall hotel is good for its price as other hotels in macao are very expensive - will stay again !

location is convenient. This hotel is new, room decoration was really nice. Room was big and a balcony. Shampoo, body soap kits was L'Occitane. There was bath tub which was big enough for me to enjoy a bubble bath. Breakfast was included but there wasn't much choice. It was a rainy day by the time I reached Macao. I didn't have my own umbrella so I borrowed one from the hotel. There was Anytime fitness right next to the hotel entrance. It was 24/7 and it was free for hotel guest , which I liked it a lot.

ideal location for people who frequent casinos because it's within walking distance to wynn, star world, mgm and grand lisboa. the room is well maintained, clean, and fairly well furnished. it's also within easy reach to any other attractions of macau too. my group and i enjoyed staying at this hotel very much even though we could only booked and stayed in a standard room last time.

The location is the best you can take bus no. MT4 from airport to the front of the hotel. you can walk 10 min to Senado square from the road back of the hotel, room not too big but OK and match with the price you pay, area is safe enough for tourist, just walk 15 min to Ama temple, bus stop are locate in front of the hotel where many main buses line are stop. 7-11 and many restaurants are around and very close to hotel, staff cannot speak english but hotel offer free wifi so you can use google translate to talk with her, she is chinese lady with fully chinese manner so she may speak loud voice, not smile but I guarantee she is good and kind. she always smile to me everytime she not tired and she hello to me everytime I say hello to her also smiling. in room is provide 2 towels, shampoo, conditioner, bathgel, soap bar and toothbrush with paste, kettle , TV and hair dryer, water is hot enough.

5 minutes by the hotel shuttle from the macao outer harbour, there are lots of restaurants nearby to choose from early morning till late night, also near two portuguese restaurants, 7-11 and a 24-hour supermarket also within walking diatance. The bus to and from the senado square stops right at the back and in front of the hotel (4-5 stops drive). We booked 2 rooms, one is super spacious, the other one is halved, but both are nicely decorated and super clean. The staffs are friendly and remember their guest well :) Thank you for the nice stay!

Staff are very helpful (especially Jenn) which makes stay better always in any hotel. Room is enough spacious, clean and comfortable. The best part is Free Phone facility with internet and international calls. Take 26 or MT4 from airport with MOP6 to get down just in front of the hotel. walkable distance to many tourist attractions like Sedano sqaure, A-Ma Temple, Macao Museum, Ruins of St. Paul's, etc. All the bus routes are accessible for here.

Stayed here for one night in August. Check in time is 2:00 but I arrived about 9AM. They were fully booked for the previous night but was able to get a room ready for me in less than an hour. Everyone there was very friendly. Breakfast was good, room service prompt. The hotel has a modern design. The rooms are comfortable and large. The shower is spacious as well. Highly recommend it. I've stayed at Emeperor, Golden Dragon and Rio Hotel in Macau and I like Waldo best of those 4.

Value for Money - good place for budget friendly tour. The room is quite big. Also the shower room. Close to bus terminal (7 mins from outer harbor) Location - Very accessible and close to tourist places Cleanliness - Room and bathroom are clean as well as beddings and towels although the stairs are dirty Staff - Both staff hardly speak english Facilities - overall is good. One observation though is that is is being used also as Love Motel or per hour rate hotel for local couples.

Location great. Just opposite the Sofitel Macao Ponte 16 Hotel. Very clean room. Counter services very great and really gave us useful information. Facilities in hotel : hair dryer, towels, body shampoo, shampoo, great cold n hot water, kettle, toothbrush n toothpaste, clean bathroom, bed comfortable. Anyway, no lift. Need to climb up staircase. Elder persons not recommended to stay unless request for lower ground. Drinking Water need to go to 1 st floor to refill.

Great for an overnight stay. Old, but clean. Big room (no windows). Nice staff. Great location I would say, there's plenty of places on the very street (restaurants, convenience store etc.), plus Macao isn't that big and everything else is kind of near (including the famous spot Ruins of St. Paul's which is within walking distance) or reachable by public transportation (that can be found just down the street).

It exceeds my expectation, i went to macao with my family, we need a big room, so we chose here. This hotel is a little bit old, but the room is new, i feel comfortable to stay here. Bus stop next by the hotel, and it just need to take a small walk to the attractions, it's convenient. The Thai food restaurant next by the hotel is yummy. If the water pressure in the shower room be stronger, it would be a perfect stay.

The hotel location is good but probably difficult to reach for travellers who have large luggage. There is a travelling system (moving walkway), very close to the hotel for travelling between the hotel and The Venetian Macao. My room is small. But it fits for one person. So it is a good choice for solo travellers. The staffs were helpful, some of them were not good at English, though. But they had clever ways to communicate with their guests.
