North Rhine-Westphalia State hotels & accommodations

I had an excellent experience with the hotel and it is very much dependent on which front desk officer receives you at the point of check-in and check-out. We had a very nice lady at check-in which took efforts to help us locate a room of our preference - twin bed instead of double. At check-out, it was a disaster, the trainee at the reception did not bother to ask f...

I was a bit taken aback because the room that I had reserved was a standard double room....I got a room with 3 twin beds --- very disappointing. Other than the fact that the hotel charges outrageous prices for the Prowein week, I would say the hotel was fine. I also would have expected in a 4 star hotel to find a fridge and ice making facilities somewhere that was acc...

Fantastic staff. Location great overlooking the river Rhine. Breakfast is very good but a bit expensive if not included. The only negative point is the hotel is looking a bit tired and dated and a bit pricey compared to other hotels in Cologne.

I went to Düsseldorf as a traveller, and I found this hotel really nice. It is not far from the main train station, and there are underground and tram stops just outside to go to other areas in the city. The room was spacious and clean, and staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel!

In europe standard, everything is expensive with small space if you book a room here. Unlike classic harmonie, i book with offer and it was a good value for money looking at the room size and location. The location is just like 7 to 10 minit walk (roughly around 500m 600m). The room is clean the staff were very friendly. - room is quite spacious for 2 people. You ha...

very nice hotel although it was rated 3 stars. location was fantastic, near many bars and christmas market. staff were helpful and friendly. hotel easy to find and very near train station. all within walking distances and metro train are all within reach. will definitely stay here again

We were upgraded to a larger room with a small living area, but it was quite small. The bed and the living area were divided by a wall in the middle. The floor wasn't carpeted, so felt colder than it should be. The toilet lights are very bright and white. With the transparent glass toilet door next to the bed, it's just bad design. The super bright white toilet light b...

We stayed one night and had a very good stay. We arrived by car and the arrival was easy. During check-in we recieved a ticket to the car parking located below the hotel. So we could carry the luggage directly from the parking to the rooms. The check-in was fast. The rooms was very fine and large and very clean. The AC worked perfectly and wifi was stable but with a li...

I booked this hotel in term of prepaid. It costed only US$39 but the room is giving me surprise absolutely. Room is huge and the bed is very comfortable. The location to both old town centre or airport is just 10 to 20 minutes in drive. I will stay there again absolutely.

I first visited cologne 6 years ago whilst on business. It was only for one night. I arrived late and left early, but i do remember it was a "nice hotel". So when i had 4 days on holiday in Cologne i immediately thought to book the Pullman. I'm so glad i did, as it was one of the best hotel experiences i had enjoyed in many years. My welcome was outstanding. If i owned...

We paid an extra premium for a Rhine-view room but when we got to the room it turns out that the view of the greater part of the river is blocked by the Chocolate museum so your "Rhine" view is really just of the canal between the two buildings. The wifi access that they promised us was also unstable and at times completely non-existent from our room, but in public are...

Very friendly Staff / Free Parking / Complimentary Newspaper Negative : prolonging one night more at reception desk was more expensive than the price we found later internet by "Booking.com" or "Agoda" . Next time please advise your guests, recommending to book online This customer friendly behaviour we have received the nights after the "Premiere Class" stay: in ...

first of all , location is one of the best things of this hotel. chocolate museum is near with beautiful liver. it was nice to take a walk in there at night. clean and nice room with good wifi as my country south korea. there is no problem in the room.

Nice hotel, lovely location, nice staff, decent ambiance. Would stay again. But the listing doesn't tell the whole story. Property is listed as 4+ star, but they have other classes that aren't mentioned online. Making the reservation, we weren't informed we were selecting an annex room, which according to staff was 3-star. And at checkout she said they also have ...

We booked this hotel coming from a 15day European vacation which culminated with a flight home from Dusseldorf. Hotel is very new, has a gym and pool. We were upgraded to the top floor given we requested for ajoining rooms. Staff was very friendly and accommodating! Airport terminal C is just a 3 minute walk and it has restaurants and a grocery.

This is a 13th Century hotel with a certain charm. If you want Holiday Inn go to Holiday Inn. Staff efficient and helpful. Room was quite big and quiet. Cleaning was good and unobtrusive. Centrally located for shopping/culture/xmas markets etc. Only improvement would be a non-slip mat in the shower.

The hotel is just along the main road and a 5 minute walk to the nearest train station and bus station. The room we booked was for a family of 3 and they gave us a very nice deal of liked a serviced apartment. The room was very large complete with amenities like kitchen, large bathroom, ironing facility. The staff was very accommodating. There was one time the electri...

A good hotel for a short stay. The receptionnist was very welcoming and friendly (vielen danke !) I booked a room for two and it was a very good room, new, modern and clean. The hotel is not very close to downtown but since we had a car it was very easy for us (so with a car you can't go wrong !)

When we arrived the hotel had no knowledge of our booking from agoda but the man on the desk sorted this for us .Rooms are clean and spacious shuttle was also very useful but its only a ten minute walk to the train station and then 15 mins into town
Cheap places to stay in North Rhine-Westphalia State

We booked a room with private bathroom but when we arrived, the receptionist said it's full and they booked us a room with a public bathroom. It was frustrating but good thing their toilet is clean and no one took a bath during the night and morning, only us! The room was big enough and clean. Location is very near to the cathedral and train station. This hote...

for a few days vacation/ shopping in dusseldorf this is a hit! we went for the christmasmarkets 2010 and the location is very good. in the centre, near the konigs allee and schadow platz.alll can be done by foot. the rooms are very clean and fresh. the bathrooms are small and the rooms are also quite small for 4 (1 double, 2 bunkbeds). cheap and easy, and the breakfast...

Small, stilish and very clever design! I stayed in a 6 female dorm. the beds are very big almost double, super comfy. the bunk beds are designed as small alcove with little indivudual curtains for privacy. in the alcove there are a personal bedlight, an electrical plug and a practical shelf. just perfect, all you need!! Plus they give you for free a lockable cupboard i...

Nice surprise is the breakfast included in the price. Bred, toast, salami, cheese, butter, pates and some sweet stuff like marmelade and corn flakes. Location is more than good and for the cash it's the best solo traveler accomodation I've found in Duss

Generally, i am quite satisfied with this hotel. The staff is nice as well and is ready to assist the guests when needed. Please be noticed that the breakfast served in this hotel is not the buffet breakfast as other hotels, but the "Subway" ordered by the receptionist on behalf the guests. The good thing of this hotel is that it is located near many shops, which is ve...

I have stayed several times at this hotel becaues of its good location: a short taxi ride from the airport, near the station and the main shopping areas. The rooms at the back of the hotel are quiet, some doubles have a small balkony, but the singles can be very small with only a small window high up. The rooms at the front are much nicer, but the can be noisy, especia...

I stayed in the 4-bed female dorm on the 2nd floor facing the main road, Kölnstrasse. But if you have a problem sleeping through some noises then -- disturbingly, the room wasn't well sound-insulated. the location wasn't busy and noisy but I could hear people who walked by the road or hang around nearby talking. This was between 1 am to 3.30 am. I'm not bothered by so...

very nice hotel although it was rated 3 stars. location was fantastic, near many bars and christmas market. staff were helpful and friendly. hotel easy to find and very near train station. all within walking distances and metro train are all within reach. will definitely stay here again

Perhaps it was Friday night when I checked in, there were a lot of groups of different people in the hostel, instead of mostly backpacker that one may expect. It is located by the beautiful lake that takes you a short walk from the train station.

The hotel has a perfect location for every undertaking on the right river side bank of the Rhine and is also very near to the main train station, to the dome and also to the downtown. Because of the very attractive room price it is a good alternative to a hostel, despite of the toilet on the corridor (shower and sink are in the small room) and the long way up to the r...

Everything was great. The hotel has AC compared to the rest we stayed in. We did meet with problem carrying our 30kg baggage up the stairs ( although there is a lift but the lift stop in between floors. so, therefore, we still need to carry half a floor of stairs up or down to our level. ) THere is no fridge in the hotel so please do not buy anything that need to chil...

The walk from the central station is about 10-15 min with luggage, the staff was very helpful. I gave only 3 stars for the location, since it was really loud until 2 AM outside. I think there were people having a party, screaming, listening to loud music etc. I know that this is not really caused by the hotel itself but is definitely a drawback. It was impossible to le...

When I got to the hotel door it was locked with a note asking me to call a phone number. Fortunately I had my mobile with me, otherwise it would have been a pain. After calling the number, the owner explained that I was the only guest at the hotel and gave me instructions on how to find the key to enter the building and access my room. He asked for the time I wanted my...

The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The woman at the front desk was multilingual, offered great suggestions for things to do/see, where to eat, and gave us helpful directions with a map. The hotel is conveniently located just a street away from the main strain station (Hauptbahnhof), which made our commute back to the airport as smooth as possible! Fo...

Despite the name "Mariella Airport" the hotel is located in downtown Porz, a part of Cologne, about more than 5 km away from the airport without direct transfer possibilities. No shuttle, nothing! The next tram staion is 400m away, the S-Bahn (train) is about 1,2 km away. Arriving late at night you have to go by cab, which is an additional € 15.- . The hotel itself ...

Before I travel to this hotel, I saw the previous review and I am worried a little bit about the hotel. But when I traveled there, I changed my mind! Everything is new and clean in this hotel now, staff are polite and nice, gods speaking with English . And the price is so cheap for a single room ! Will defiantly come back to this hotel again!

This hotel was located very close to my appointment in North Essen, so it was definitely a wise choice. Check-in and service were very German, smooth and professional and quick. Overall the stay was short, kind, comfortable, and breakfast was just fine. A recommendation for the next time!

first of all , location is one of the best things of this hotel. chocolate museum is near with beautiful liver. it was nice to take a walk in there at night. clean and nice room with good wifi as my country south korea. there is no problem in the room.

When we arrived the hotel had no knowledge of our booking from agoda but the man on the desk sorted this for us .Rooms are clean and spacious shuttle was also very useful but its only a ten minute walk to the train station and then 15 mins into town

Was staying in a 2 person room for 2 days. Hotel is a solid choice for someone who wants a good room in an excellent location and walking distance to the center station, rhine and general area (japanese community). Staff speaks german, english and japanese (as far as I could tell) and is very friendly and accomodating. Could be a bit cheaper for what it is, but if you ...

InterCityHotel Bonn is just located in the back of Bonn HBF, very easy to find it. Even you drive to here, they provide parking space also. There is an organic supermarket just next to the hotel. However, the bar in the hotel is also nice. The best thing for me, they provide me two-days traffic card of Bonn, which can take the bus, U-bahn and S-bahn(Compare to the pric...

Allowance for early check-in of my stay is much appreciated. I arrived at 10:00 am after a long-haul flight to the hotel, I was unexpectedly allowed to check in immediately with a free room up grade!! The staff at reception was very nice, he had provided very useful information for my travel at Koln. Swimming and suana facilities are also great!

we had a booked confirmation for a king size bed, but when we arrived they said the hotel was full and all room's type has no king size, so we got instead a twin size bedroom. the first impression was unfriendly but then there was another person on the front desk, who apologized and explained nicely. we quite happy for a spacious and clean room. the other thing is on ...

Owing to staff's help, we were able to catch the plane to Japan. He kept knocking on the door till we actually woke up because we slept to much to notice the wake up call he made. We appreciated his excellent help. The other stuff are also nice and very helpful. Besides, the room was clean and nicely decorated, fabulous breakfast, close enough to central station. ...

NH Hotel Nord Dusseldorf is next to a S-bahn station with several lines including S1, S6, providing direct access to Dusseldorf Hbf and the airport, so it's location is very convenient. The facility of the hotel is good, but considering it's a four-star hotel, there is still space for improvement in lighting and maybe a Bluetooth speaker. Additionally, I hope next ti...

The Mercure Hotel is in walking distance to the main railway station. The staff is very attentive, well trained, supportive and has good language skills. The rooms are clean and well equipped, the breakfast buffet is great and nothing is missing. I would come again!

Unfortunately with business you never get time to enjoy a hotel with the busy schedule. Daniel was at the front desk welcoming guests with a warm smile and giving them information promptly. The people really make the hotel and this is why I continue to return. The breakfast is lovely and the coffee is excellent. Keep up the good work Tryp team

The pool should have steps to get easily into the water - we therefore could only use it one time! We also saw ladies being helped / pushed up by their husbands - up these horrible and hard stairs! You need to have also very strong arms! Cheap, only for young people and not custumerfriendly! The restaurant did not have bread without wheat, although we asked for it du...

Fantastic staff. Location great overlooking the river Rhine. Breakfast is very good but a bit expensive if not included. The only negative point is the hotel is looking a bit tired and dated and a bit pricey compared to other hotels in Cologne.

I enjoyed the stay. I was there for 3 nights. Hotel is very near to railway station-Cologne. Main attraction cathedral and Rhine river is at walking distance. Room condition and services were very good. Did not covered breakfast during booking. Hence, can not comment on that. We took breakfast outside. Rental cars normally available outside the hotel. Overall good expe...

We travelled to Gutersloh from the North East of UK as my better half wanted to visit all the places where she grew up as a child (a trip down memory lane). So after a busy adventurous day it was nice to be able to relax and recharge our cells in a nice quiet Retreat without being disturbed. As mentioned by others, this hotel is situated about 5-10mins walk from the ma...

Just make sure you got all those passwords before you go there because they don't have reception. Other than that just fantastic and they are very efficiency to answer your emails. Super clean with easy access location as well as all those wonderful restaurant nearby. Just perfect :)

Excellent hotel and very friendly. We had a good time. The staff even celebrated my birthday with a card and chocolate. We even got the VIP table for breakfast. The only issue we had was with the agoda booking on-line. We thought the breakfast were included in the room price. The website was ambiguous and led to confusion. Be careful when you do your booking.

First of all the good part: The hotel has a history most hotels can't compete with. The lobby is very beautiful and the whole construction looks beautiful from outside; But now the bad part: Except the lobby everything is old and outdated ; The elevator looks like it's already there for 50 years, the rooms look old, the carpets, the bar just everything appears to be f...

The location is perfect everything within steps . The apartment would be nicer if the added toilet papers , tissues and toiletries. Their is no AC so we open the windows at night and its hard to sleep because of all the noise of the night life people and it goes up until 5 am sometimes. We didn’t meet anyone for checkin and checkout.

I stayed two nights in this beautiful boutique hotel, which was before a court building. Nothing nicer than this in all what I ever saw in Germany. The rooms are most spacious and the location is near everything you want when you come to a city. The service is brilliant! Especially the reception guys, Marius und Hendrik ! I will return for sure and hope they can keep t...
