the hotel is modern and conveniently located a minute away from the lake and the city center. it has several restaurants, a bar, buddha spa, indoor and a heated outdoor pool and an executive floor. all service personnel was very kind and helpful, speaking perfect english. it was a pleasant surprise to receive this level of service in france! we had room service for a late lunch and the food was delicious and very well priced. nice breakfast buffet with possibility to order eggs a la carte. quality beverages: high end tea, fresh juices and nespresso are served. the only negative was that children are only allowed to use the indoor pool until 10am and we had to swim in the outdoor pool which was heated but walking wet in the cold wasn't the best experience.

Hotel is beautiful, very well located, straight on ski tracks and next to all amenities. Room was spacious and well decorated with a kitchen. Kids had their own small bedroom with bunk beds. Food for half board was very good with good choices and good quality products. Staff was amazing, helpful, nice. Especially at the restaurant: lead waiters and waiters all do a great job with a smile. A few negatives: the path from ski lockers room to the tracks is deadly slippery, they must address this. Rooms did have floor lights and ceiling spotlights make them cold and not cost enough. Bar could be improved to make it more lively (with a football table?). it’s too cosy and quiet. Spa is not separated enough from reception area and is therefore a bit cold.

Around 20 mins walking distance to shopping area and commercial center The room is very spaicious and the staff are helpful. I love this room very much and I will definitely book this hotel again if I go Lyon again. The only thing is the church nearby rings the bell every hours or every half hour in the morning so if you are easily wake up by sound, you may not able to sleep late.

Very convenient location since I had to work in Nyon for 2 days. The room (that they call "suite") was comfortable and clean but is rather 3 stars than 4 stars further to my opinion... For being a 4 stars it misses a kind of sofa seat... more comfortable than a wooden chair on the dining table. Watching TV either sitting at the dining table or sitting on the bed isn't the most comfortable. Kitchenette is very convenient and if you have a cacr you can go to some local supermarkets. For the rest, the staff is Professional and helpful, and the location is very quiet. Not much to do on a Sunday except walking around the beautiful lake.

الفندق موقعه ممتاز اشوفه افضل من ايبس الموقع قدامة مباشرة المواقف العامه قريب جدا من المدينة القديمة - ايبس اقرب للمهتمين لكن اعتقد موحش مدخله قريب منع سوبر ماركت كبير وفي خلف العمارة يوجد مغسلة ملابس افضل سكن هي بالادوار العلويه سكنت بالخامس وكان فيه بلكونه تفتح على الحديقه ومساحه للاستمتاع بالمنظر الفندق ممتاز بالنسبة للخدمات فيه افضل موقع وفي قلب الحركة والسوق وعلى الشارع العام في بداية الحديقه لكن ماعرفت اسمه ممكن تشوفه بالخريطه

scruffy entrance, (and really scary access from the garage), tiny elevator, defective bathtub faucets. Breakfast overpriced at 15 euro, motel 8 decor inside. Staff was mixed batch - some had no idea about their own city as far as sightseeing was concerned, some were very helpful. this hotel displays 4 stars, but it is in reality a budget hotel and should have 2 stars. it was satisfactory for 2 stars, it would be dismal for 4 stars. don't expect 4 stars below 100 euro per night :)

This hotel is currently doing renovations that are due to be finished in April. There was a bit of noise due to this but only during the day time hours so it didn't effect us. We also had a room right on top of the train line on a low floor and though we could hear the trains go underneath it wasn't overbearing. It's a handy location right near the train and bus station. I recommend the easy 50 minute right into Geneva on the bus (only 5 euro each way on flix bus when we were there).

Helpful staff, great room and fantastic location. We use Aagoda for all our travels and are generally happy because the reviews match our expectations. I would recommend this hotel if you want to be close to the best shops and restaurants. Our room looked down into a large plaza which contained a subway entrance. We would have stayed longer but the hotel was sold out because of a soccer match upcoming the next day. Leyon is a wonderful city and the Carlton is right in the middle of best area.

We were 2 couples, staying for a night only since we had a flight in the morning. There are two bus stops close to the hotel but the closer over was not serviced there day we arrived. If you have luggage/suitcases with wheels, it isn't a problem to walk from the bus stop to the hotel. We had the family room. It is well equipped and of ideal size for a family with 2 children, or for our purpose. The bath and toilet are separate which makes it very convenient when traveling in a group. The room was very neat and clean. Hotel is in a quiet neighborhood. There is a Carrefour about 0.5km away and a couple of restaurants too. The staff is very helpful, responsive and kind. They offer a free shuttle service to the airport. There is a bar in the hotel which is open until late. They offer breakfast for a price but no other meals. There are vending machines though.

we arrived very early after leaving our river cruise. the reception staff was kind, (the red haired woman was beyond gracious🤗), efficient, and got us quickly into a room. That quick room turn around might have explained the disappointment with the bathroom cleanliness. The room smelled of sour cleaning cloths...had to open the window to air. The glass counter still had water spots from previous use, tissues looked like they were stuffed into the box . The toilet rust at the bottom opening was unpleasant and the toilet itself stopped working during the night. I am hoping that this was a one time mess. (The NH in Zaragoza was amazing)

Lovely hotel , although on a main street the hotel isin a quiet residential are, felt very safe there. Good shops/cafes nearby with a restaurant next door, cafe down the room selling lovely pastries. short walk over two rivers Rhone and Saone to old centre, good transport links with trams, buses and metro covering Lyon and funiculure to the top near the old centre. Hotel so clean you could smell lovely clean crisp white sheets. Staff so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Hotel secuirity good with safe free of charge in the room, key code to get in main downstairs door and key code to enter second floorlobby. Our room was 22 overlooking the road - nice and spacious with flat screen /tv good wardrobe area and nice bathroom with bath/shower. Owner favours fleur de lys design - on carpets bedding, towelling robes etc. Good breakfast. Would certainly return.

An easy walk or electric scooter ride (if you haven't tried these, you're missing out!) to other parts of Lyon, especially Old Lyon. Grand Hotel des Terreaux is definitely one for those who prefer old world charm over generic modern hotel rooms - my wife loved it. The views are just of nearby buildings rather than any city panorama - but when you're in charming old town, there ain't nothing wrong with that. The young staff are lovely and helpful. There is an interesting indoor pool (and not many hotels have pools) that's been built in an old cellar through the breakfast area - though it's only very, very slightly heated - the adjoining jacuzzi is the same temperature as the pool - so more of a summer option than for spring when we visited.

Good things: - great location, immediately above Ampere-Victor Hugo station, with staircase with outside hotel and elevator very close by (within 30 metres) - extremely comfortable bed (firm enough) - large bathroom with heating element - 24hr reception with helpful staff Things that can be improved upon: - shower stall door -- some water tends to leak from under the door, which then causes part of the toilet to be wet. May prove a bit unsafe - no fridge/minibar Didn't try the food, not sure about quality, but looked ok. Overall, very value-for-money, will definitely choose to stay again next time in Lyon

Best location while in Lyon. It’s walking distance to Lyon’s attractions, shops, transportation, restaurants. Bottled water, coffee/tea, happy hour goodies is complimentary. The room, and toilet (love the tiles) is big with french rustic interiors, french window. Basic amenities available - towels, slippers, robe, shampoo, conditioners , bath soap, lotion, showercap, cotton & buds (no toothbrush though (i have to take note the next time I travel to Europe to bring toothbrush and toothpaste since all the hotels we stayed in Paris did not include this). The reception staff is helpful and accomodating. Umbrellas are available to borrow. Breakfast is good (love the yogurt, and freshly squeezed orange juice). Best of all, it has a lift (small but useful especially if you’re carrying big luggages, and qccompanied by a senior citizen). The only thing that’s amissed is the missing coffee on our third day,.

My friend and I had a lovely stay at the Mercure Lyon Grand Hotel Saxe Lafayette. We could not have asked for more. The staff (both in housekeeping and front office)were very helpful and friendly. One of the receptionists gave very good restaurant recommendations! All of which were brilliant suggestions!!!! Our room consisted of two double beds which were humongous! It was very spacious and the bathroom was nice and clean. I believe the rooms are have recently been renovated, and this certainly made our stay much more comfortable as everything felt brand new. This hotel was about a 15 minute walk to the Lyon town centre and tourist information centre (It was a nice stroll via the river) and also about a 10-15 minute walk to the Grand Lafayette shopping centre and main train station to Paris.Very convenient. Overall we enjoyed our stay at this hotel and I would not hesitate to book my stay in Lyon here again.

The hotel is by the slopes and if you don’t mind being away from the town, then it is okay. Value for money is good as it is among the cheapest in the area. Staff lacks professionalism and requires training. It seems everyone doesn’t really know what’s going on. Our ski lesson booking which was booked directly with the hotel is not done even though it was booked days in advance prior to arrival. We even have a confirmation by email on this. We arrived at about 2:00pm, we know that check in time is at 4:00pm but the hotel wasn’t full at that time because I asked and the ski season has not yet started plus it was a weekday but they made us wait for 2 hours just to check in at 4:00pm. I don’t think this is a nice gesture. Bedroom slippers wasn’t provided so I requested for it and I got a response ‘your room doesn’t come with slippers’ so I said I’ll just pay for one but it seems this is not possible. I just feel the hotel is very inflexible. Overall stay was average.

The hotel was under renovation during our visit in June 2015 so the carpark available was the few ones near the entrance of the hotel. We didn't felt that there were any disturbances from the renovation. The room had a huge bed and a cot for our baby but that left very little space for anything. The room was very modernly designed. In room dining food was not bad. The tram station was linked to the various malls and Lafayette.
