Tuscany hotels & accommodations

walk out of the station on the right side exit and before you is the hotel .... check in was a pleasure with courteous staff giving you a map of florence without asking..... the room was superb overlooking the station without any of the street noise coming through.......bed soft and very comfortable.....the breakfast is outstanding with such a variation of food this is...

Hotel Veneto was by far my most 3 comfortable nights stay in Florence . The only sad side, having to walk about 5-7mins from the Firenze Santa Maria Novella railway station (Florence railway station.) With it crackly tiny road, pulling my heavy luggage to this hotel was a real killing moment. But upon arriving to my room, from the tired face becomes happy face. The h...

We stayed for a night @ Veneto Residence. The room was clean , comfortable and at good location. The staff was very helpful and walked us through the entire Florence map and the must see attractions in a single day. They helped us to keep our luggage's even after checkout. We got a room with very good view to see the cupola of Duomo cathedral. Would definitely give a...

The location of the hotel was very convenient for us as we were traveling by train. It was on the street directly opposite the train station about 5 minute walk. The concierge was standing at the gate and helped us in with our luggage something we didn't experience in any of the 4 star hotels in Italy. Check in was quick. The room itself was very nice and clean and ver...

Location was super! Nearer to Firenze SMN Train station than I thought. On Google Maps, it certainly looked further. Also just beside the bus station where you can take the official shuttle bus to the Outlet Mall in Tuscany. There's a Carrefour express located just beside the hotel too. There seemed to be not enough seating for breakfast though. But I think they are e...

We will recommend Plaza Hotel Lucchesi to any friends traveling to Florence. The location is perfect - 6 blocks from the Uffizi Gallery and easy walking to all sites. Best of all was the staff. We had originally planned to stay 2 nights, and wound up making it our base for 5 nights in Florence and Tuscany. We felt that we were known and cared for by all staff - at ...

I love to travel and I love hotels. My wife and I are on our honeymoon traveling all over Europe. Firenze Number Nine (FNN) was our second stop after staying at the St. Regis in Rome. FNN Was just as amazing in their own unique botique way. Incredibly helpful with suggestions of sights and booking tickets. Alessandro sat us down as soon as we arrived and welcomed us an...

The views are exquisite. I highly recommend booking a room with a balcony. My single room was small but more than adequate to serve my needs. The staff were all welcoming and friendly. I understand there is breakfast and coffee served in the parlor area from 7 am to 10 which is included with some room rates and/or 10 Euro fee for others. I didn't partake so I cann...

We had such a lovely stay and fully appreciate why this lovely family business has earned its 4 stars. The staff were so polite and helpful, the room, which included a dressing room, wad clean and spacious and clearly much thought had been given to making the environment as comfortable as possible. This included a lovely varied breakfast (continental - my preference) b...

Very Nice hotel on easy walking distance to Downtown Florence. Very Nice and Big breakfast room where you could hang out during the Day too. Friendly staff with good directions to things in Florence, we booked an all Day trip with their help too to see some of Tuscany. Would recommend this hotel.

We stayed one night in this hotel during our recent visit to Italy and were not disappointed. It's located only about 2 blocks from the train station; however, the signage does not stand out, so we passed right by it while we were looking for it. The hotel is well maintained and new. The staff was so helpful to us - can't say enough good things about the folks on t...

I traveled with my 3 sisters and we stayed at the hotel for 3 days. The hotel is not brand new and modern but it is kept very clean and tidy. The front staff is super nice and very helpful! We first came to check-in, we were offered with refreshments (water, orange juice, cranberry juice). Everyone at the front desk/staff were very kind, especially Eleonora who hel...

Amazing decor of this hotel, our room was painted in the style of 17th century and we really enjoyed everything about our staying: location - it is situated in the old town, 5-7 min walk to the famous Duomo, cleanness, breakfast and their soaps and shampoos are made with Tuscany olive oil. Little touches here and there to show that they care about people staying in the...

Amazing property, staff, food, wine. A fantastic hotel experience. I would suggest not leaving the property, it's too enjoyable and the perfect place to relax. Indoor and outdoor pools, both with amazing views. A spa with a good massage therapist (only one therapist so book in advance). Great wine, food, service, a gym, bike rentals.... Very clean and big rooms, wit...

I just returned from spending 10 days in Florence, stayed in this wonderful little hotel in the very center of the city. You can't wish for better value for money. The hotel is small, very clean, rooms are lovely and have everything you might need, the staff is friendly and helpful, breakfast is good-complete with delicious pastries. But the best part is the location. You're 2 ...

Book for triple room and they provide us baby crib as requested. Room was on 1st floor but from the hotel lobby to 1st floor there is no elevator. But there is separate lift goes to another floor, I am confused of the layout of the hotel cause some floor has elevator some can't use the same elevator. Staff were very nice. Breakfast was good. Bathroom needs serious upgr...

I booked a triple room with shared bathroom. At first, I think there will be long queue of people waiting for having a shower and toilet, but I accepted it for one night. However, they actually provide us a room with small space for taking shower and a wash bin. This makes me happy. Moreover, the room and shared bathro were clean and tidy. The lady at reception was ver...

We enjoyed our three night stay here. Was super close to the train station in Florence and was walking distance to the main shopping/restaurant district however is a walk. Give yourself 5-10 mins to get in to the action from this hotel. Great breakfast option, probably the best we had from any hotel during our travels.

The location is outstanding, you won't get anywhere better. The rooms are very quiet and peaceful despite the central postcode. staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. When you're paying such a bargain price in the centre of Florence, you cannot expect luxury. THis hotel is very functional and basic - it has everything you need without any added extras. If you'r...

This is a lovely hotel very central within walking distance of everything you want to see. There are several restaurants in the same street but not far to walk to the center. The rooms are very small, but they provide a computer for your use and a power board. Bed was comfortable but pillows were hard, but that seems to be common in most places we have stayed. The brea...

The hotel was superb! It was nicely situated along the river. It was about a 20 minute walk to the ponte vecchio but it was such a lovely walk and there were great open parks and gatherings along the way. We were actually glad that it was a little bit away from everything or we would have missed out on seeing such a lively part of the city! The hotel and its staff wer...

I chose this hotel because of it's design and location. It is basically a White-color Hotel with Rose Motif on everything. After checking in, the A/C in our room started leaking so the reception came up to change room for us. I understand white is a very hard color to maintain so I didn't really mind the little details that have turned a bit off-white. I love the Rose ...

Built during the Renaissance period the building and its rooms are old, but so is Florence. This hotel is in a perfect location with just short walk to sightseeing locations, markets, shops and eateries. Staff here are the best we have ever encountered. Very friendly and willing to help. Be warned there is no lift but they have a porter who will carry bags. This hot...

First of all, i was extremely thrilled about its location. It was stated that it was located near the Santa Maria Novella station, but i didnt expect it to be so close, that it was visible right after we exit the station. The hotel being more than a 100 years old, is full of character. Charmingly decorated, and it has a surreal classical feel to it. The floor creak...

We love this hotel and it’s location and have stayed several times. The staff are very friendly, efficient and always ready to help. Beds and pillows are very comfortable, this can be rare in many hotels. There is also a great roof top bar with a good view. The one thing I think that is missing is a coffee machine in the rooms. We really enjoy a coffee on getting up ...

Only draw back to this place was the stairs up to its 3rd floor possie. Otherwise it's very central to the sights of Florence, and mid way between the two main train stations - app 15 minutes walk to each. The river isn't much further - and a bit of a climb then gets you up onto Michaelangelo Piazza, for the most amazing view of the city - without having to pay, and qu...
Cheap places to stay in Tuscany

the hotel is at the fourth floor without lift so it is a bit difficult for someone carrier a big baggage to climb all the way up stairs, good location in a bright alley, feel really safe during my stay in this hotel, the hotel is clean, the staffs are so nice to introduce the city at the beginning during the check in, this hotel is also worth with the price.

In terms of food, this is the best hostel that I have been to! There's a restaurant serving cheap but tasty lunch and dinner. The breakfast is just amazing! I really like the coffee cake and I ate a lot! The small garden of the hostel is also very good. I like to sit there enjoying meals. The hostel provides free walking tour every day, which is very nice and useful fo...

staff - when we arrived, it takes time before they entertained us. so slow. if you need something, it takes time as well. and sometimes, they already forgot what we need. room - so clean. so nice to sleep... i want to go back. worth it. and it looks like a hotel than a hostel. hahaha :) we are in new building btw. i didn't see the old building. food - awesome breafas...

Hotel location is very convenient as the central train station, attractions and shopping areas are all within walking distance. One of the receptionist also provided us with good tip to have the best and cheap ice cream where you can find nearby. Very things about this hotel are great except for the pillows which is a little too flat for a comfortable sleep. Neverthele...

one room on the ground floor was noisy in the morning as people walked past and talking. staff was very helpful as we arrived late and also explained to us the issues with parking, offering us a registration note to make sure we were not charged for going into a banned zone

Excellent location, 5 mins walk to FNM station, all furniture update, and remodelled, great shower but little small. Nice bedroom and living room. New AC that works so well in each room. Noisy at night time, although windows were closed. Pillows are not comfortable. Great convenient stores, Laundromat, and Restaurants next to the hotels. Comfortable and convenient enou...

Rooms are clean and a decent size, shared bathrooms are clean and showers are good, there's a nice little terrace to sit out on and plan your day, and the staff were very helpful and very patient. About a 15 minute walk into the historic district, but I don't see that as anything but a pleasure. You get away from all the loud, obnoxious tourists and get to have a very ...

Giotta is a beautiful building in a quiet location. It is very clean and the bed was comfortable with nice bed linen. However the shower had a very slow flow of, at best, tepid water that occasionally became a dribble - Not good when you have your hair full of soapy suds! Fortunately it June when we visited, otherwise it would have been awful. We mentioned it to the ...

They have customers park their cars in a neighbouring hotel parking garage which is in sore need on repairs. A cable that was partly rusted through broke on their parking control arm and they tried to bill me for 350 euros ($575) They tried to bill me for it saying I had broken it when leaving. The video showed the arm going up and me leaving. The cable is a 6 foot lon...

Very Nice hotel on easy walking distance to Downtown Florence. Very Nice and Big breakfast room where you could hang out during the Day too. Friendly staff with good directions to things in Florence, we booked an all Day trip with their help too to see some of Tuscany. Would recommend this hotel.

We loved our stay here. You will find all the advantages of a luxuois hotel with a very reasonable budget. The rooms are big, comfy, and very clean. The owner, Michel, thought about every single detail to make sure you won't miss anything. And above all he is a very warm amd adorable person. One of our best experience for our vacatikns in Italy.

We had a nice stay here. Unfortunately the room suffered from the odor of old cigarette smoke, but the Staff did everything to make us comfortable. The elevator is quite elegant and extremely slow. We enjoyed a very large bathtub and a lovely deck on the 4th floor.

I had my worst first impression of a B&B ever here, luckily, however, it turned out to be one of the BEST last impressions of a B&B I've ever had! We arrived late at night and had difficulties finding the place, then when we finally did find the place there was no one there to let us in, and no way of contacting the place at all. Luckily a friend of the hotel owner...

So many opinions, so many variable needs. Opinion- dirty, no just a bit old but clean and functional. Close to the airport, true but I needed to get into Florence, 4.7km. If you are walking use the main road DO NOT use a GPS track through the park, at the end it goes through about 1 km of very dangerous narrow road. 2/3 of the staff were very good, manager was ve...

Start to finish our time at Villa Gherardi was fantastic. Adele, Riccardo and family are exceptionally welcoming. The view from the breakfast area could rival any in Tuscany and the view from the room comes close to topping it. A 3 minute walk from the centre of Barga and 5 minutes from the old town, location couldn't be better. Plenty of parking space and facilities. ...

We spent two nights and I definitely believe it was the best choice. Very close to Lucca downtown with free parking and with a very good restaurant nearby. The owner is managing is the place perfectly, offering nice rooms and a great breakfast. Do not miss it, it is a great place to stay.

I stayed here for two nights while touring Florence. This hotel is located on the second floor of a building so it was a bit confusing for me to locate it at first (but this makes this hotel a safe one to stay). Also the elevator is not auto; it is an old-fashioned one with a button to be pushed manually to lift up. I found it very interesting though since this broug...

We originally booked a room from iH Hotels Firenze Business and spent our first night in Florence there, but one-way taxi trips (12 mins.) to the city center came up to 30€ so we decided to book Hotel Desiree last minute and we were so glad we did. The staff was super friendly, the night was only 48€, the location was unbeatable, only 2 min. walk from the train station...
4-star hotels in Tuscany

walk out of the station on the right side exit and before you is the hotel .... check in was a pleasure with courteous staff giving you a map of florence without asking..... the room was superb overlooking the station without any of the street noise coming through.......bed soft and very comfortable.....the breakfast is outstanding with such a variation of food this is...

We enjoyed our three night stay here. Was super close to the train station in Florence and was walking distance to the main shopping/restaurant district however is a walk. Give yourself 5-10 mins to get in to the action from this hotel. Great breakfast option, probably the best we had from any hotel during our travels.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights on our honeymoon. The hotel and staff were top notch. This is a pricey hotel, but since it was our honeymoon we splurged on the room. You do however get what you pay for. The staff was over the top nice and every attention to detail was taken care of. The bed and room were clean and extremely comfortable. Breakfast each morning wa...

Excellent. only slight problem in that the request for twin beds was not passed to the hotel a common occurrence in Italy, but the staff easily sorted it. Hotel is within easy walking distance of all the main sights and there is a wide choice of eating places nearby at night. Staff were very happy to make bookings for excursions and concerts. Staff made us feel very we...

This is a very pretty hotel, comtemporary interior design, large bath room. The room was very clean. It took only a few steps to the Duomo, Piazza Republica,Piazza Spagna, many historic places and many nice restuarants to eat . We could walk to the train station within 10 minutes. The people in the hotel tried their best to make us happy.

This 4 star hotel is within a stone's throw of the Duomo and hence most of the sights of Florence. It's also a short walk from the train station (about 10 minutes); having the correct address on the booking site and walking directions would have been helpful. A tourist video with a historic slant played during a bountiful breakfast that in addition to the usual croissa...

When you got lost around the city and you're trying to beat the checkout time of 12noon, the sweetest thing you'll hear from the reception staff is "it's absolutely ok, take your time, madam". This is how friendly and warm the staff is at Star Hotels Michaelangelo, looking after their guests. When I arrived from an early morning flight from Paris, like many of the ho...

Our stay was at the San Frienze was relaxing and comfortable. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The breakfast was plentiful and varied, with healthy options as well as some "blood sugar burst" choices. Moreover you could take as long as you liked over breafast, planning your next amazing day. Our air-conditioned room was on the 4th floor looking...

We stayed at the Grand Hotel Minerva Florence for 4 nights in August. We were there for a wedding in Tuscany and to celebrate our friend's 50th birthday. On arrival we were upgraded to a Suite which was fabulous!!! the room, the breakfast, the staff and the well needed roof top pool and bar were all excellent - the hotel was like an oasis in a very hot city. The s...

This stately hotel is in the very midst of the museums and famous piazzas of the historic center of Firenze, literally 2 blocks from Il Duomo, and yet it is a serene and relaxing sanctuary from the crowds and noise. The rooms are lovely, comfortable and blessedly quiet. The view from my window was surpassed only by the view from the hotel's rooftop terrace. I arrived ...

This is the best hotel if you are taking a plane or train. We took the train from Florence and upon exiting the station this hotel with very noticeable signboard was just right in front. No need to navigate about in the middle of the night or ask directions. WAs pleasantly greeted by a nice lobby. Hotel image is exactly the same as the real deal. As a very particular ...

This was the best treat on our whole trip to Italy!! The views were inreal, the feel was ultra relaxing, the complimentary breakfast was supurb, the location was so convenient, and the staff were more than accommodating( especially Danielle)!! Thank you Santa Chiara for being the best part of our trip!!!

Good hotel, located close enough to the center while not so close as to suffer from high prices. Modern rooms, copious breakfast. Excellent restaurant next door (Borderline - book in advance). Large car park (free of charge) in front of the hotel. Only drawback are the elevators, old dyfunctional (one out of 2). Very pleasant staff, multiligual too.

The location of the hotel may be an issue for sole traveller. The hotel is located 20-30 min bus ride from city centre. We reached SMN train station and the bus stop for #22 towards Novoli is located at far opposite of the train station. We need to walk and cross over few busy roads with our huge luggages and this was not an easy task. Other than that, it was quite ...

We booked this hotel after reading all the other reviews. It is a Hilton brand hotel, but don't expect it to be to the same high quality standard of other Hiltons. The rooms a big, nice and clean and for the price that we paid it was a good find considering hotels at this level are expensive in the main city area. Location was not a problem. There is a bus stop about...

We loved the hotel itself but the booking was meant to be for two separate rooms not two doubles in the same room. There was three of us traveling together and one person snored so we were all looking forward to our own space. The location was great though and a well recommended break whilst on the way to Rome. Staff were lovely. Room clean.

The Santa Croce displayed a high level of professionalism, good manners and customer service from the moment we stepped in till the time we had to leave. Our room was immaculate and very well appointed. The public rooms in the hotel need to be seen to be believed. We felt as though we were staying in one of the opulent palaces Florence is so famous for. Its location w...

We booked this hotel following a recommendation from friends and found it met all our expectations. One of the oldest hotels in Italy but refurbished to provide accommodation of a high standard. The central location made sightseeing so much easier. All the staff were friendly and courteous, the beds were comfortable and a very good breakfast was available. We would hav...

The hotel was OK but think they are deceiving a bit with the photographs. Its certainly not as modern and beautiful looking as the photos would tell you. It seems like it may have been a fabulous hotel in the 50's but is in need of modernisation/ renovation. It was very clean however and is a very nice hotel, just not worth the price you are paying for 5 star luxury. ...

Sadly, I can't really recommend this hotel any longer although staying there several times previously. They remodeled and from the outside things look very modern and fancy. However, they sadly lack basic necessities in the bathroom, like places to hang and put your things. The half glassed in shower curtain lets water spew out onto the floor no matter how careful ...

Images don't show whole beauty of this hotel, and I mean it. While choosing a hotel to stay in Florence, I wanted something old-fashioned, Italian, something authentic. This hotel seemed to be like that, however, I was afraid to arrive at the room with rubbed furniture. But when we entered a lobby and saw the celling, floor, furniture, we seemed to be in a fairytale. ...

The hotel is really a style of guesthouse. It is advertised as 5 Star which can set an expectation level which you won't find here - you will be disappointed. If you think of it as a nice guesthouse then you will be happy. For the price you can't expect a 5 Star anyway. I was very happy here once I'd adjusted my expectations. Overall the place needs to be painted a...

Beautiful place. Views very pretty from pool and restaurant. Family room was very nice, spacious and separate shower room for children. Kids loved the pool and we spent most of our days relaxing there. We walked into Florence late afternoon to do our sightseeing when it was a bit cooler. 30 min walk which we enjoyed but might be too strenuous on way home uphill for som...

It is a wonderful hotel. Very classy and old world. The staff are perfect and treat you very special. The location is not in the middle of Florence, but I liked the 10 minute separation. The bar/restaurant on the top floor is fabulous for a late night cocktail, with a wonderful view of the river. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. It is an old hotel, so dont ex...

We were upgraded when we arrived so had a beautiful view over field towards the leaning tower and mountains behind. Room was very clean and comfortable. Of course it's not really a city centre hotel and a bit of a walk to get anywhere, but we understood that when booking it and we'd just have to get taxis. Would recommend to anyone who wants a quieter spot with spaciou...

just recently i went with my girlfriend to visit florence. the hotel was perfect for our short stay. 3 nights... it is very close to the historic part, but also the room retain that renascence feeling everyone wants to have when visiting florence. the hospitality is great, and everyone is very friendly. on sundays breakfast from 7am till 12:00 and people at the desk c...

Some how, I stumbled upon this up and coming 5-star resort nestled within the beautiful hills of Tuscany, yet within a 1/2 hour drive to Florence and Siena. The rooms are spacious and impeccable! The resort opened this past April after an extensive, five year renovation. The staff is exceptional! Most everyone speaks very good English, as well. I highly recommend!

The stay was great. We stayed there for two nights for our honeymoon. Staff were attentive and friendly. Breakfast was great and also the dinner at the medival village overlooking panorama terrace. It is pretty big resort/ hotel with lots of activities provided by the hotel. Highly recommended!

The hotel is easy to find, and my view of the port was absolutely beautiful. The rooms are spacious but simple, small TVs and just a shower but it’s all you need really. Could do with a small fridge! The breakfast room has a great view also and has a good selection of pastries, fruit and yoghurt and if you ask, you can have eggs and bacon. Great coffee. There is free ...

The Baglioni Resort is an exquisite, small luxury hotel on the Tuscany coast, about 1.5 hours from Pisa airport. The service is sublime, so helpful, efficient and friendly. The hotel is decorated beautifully, the bedrooms are really wonderful. This is a very quiet, calm and peaceful hotel, the pool deck is small but extremely well maintained and there is a easy shu...

There is no dinner available so you must either pay EUR40 for an intern to drive you to and from restaurants nearby (7 mins ride one way) or you must have your own car. The pool is very nice and has a lovely view of the countryside, the rooms are also very big so we think it is good value. The downside is the mattress is way too soft it hurts our back.
