Siripanna Villa Resort & Spa Chiangmai (SHA Extra Plus)
Charoenmueng,Chiang Mai - View on map
"Luxury hotel with all the due comfort, perfectly clean and with a staff that is excellent in making your stay unforgettable. The pool is just gorgeous, the breakfast with a lot of choice between thai and occidental food. They did their best in organising trips for us - exactly what we wanted, without trying to sell us other "options". Our sun was ill and they organised fos us the hospital transfert. Their recommendation for the hospital and the medical care were at the most high standards - belive me I'm a doctor in Geneva - and the price was insignificant. Really I give a first class appreciation to the medical care our son received in Chiang Mai and an excellent appreciation to the way the hotel staff guided us in this matter. By the way, we've been in august - which is considered the rainy season - what I must say is that it rains a lot less that in Geneva august high season. Other good point about the "rainy season" is that all the rice fields are in water, all Thailand is green ans you have at least 20 types of fruits at each meal, most of them delicious and completely unknown for the european I am till now. Concerning the location, is a bit excentric from the downtown but this is quite an advantage because is quiet and the price of tuk-tuk taxi is very low. If you go there by car a good GPS combined with the map the hotel provides you on the web, will get you there witout problem. I can only recomment this hotel for people that are visiting Chiang Mai."

Panviman Chiangmai Spa Resort (SHA Extra Plus)
Mae Rim,Chiang Mai - View on map
"we arrived late at night to panviman and we regret that we only had 12 hours of stay in this extremely beautiful hotel. first, our room, even though we had to walk up 4 floors, we were happy and was amazed by the room and its facilities. however the best comes in the morning when we took a walk around. the breakfast was great and the outdoor workout facility is very nice. we tried to book for the spa however it was fully booked as we were too late. however we were able to go around the spa area and it was very beautiful. the swimming pool was amazing and the meditation cave was one of a kind. i simply say: panviman is one of the best 5 stars hotel in chiang mai."

Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai (SHA Plus+)
Mae Rim,Chiang Mai - View on map
"Four Seasons Chiang Mai left us breatheless and wanting for more. From the moment we arrived to the day we depart, all our wishes and requests were fulfilled by just pressing '1' -guest relations. Impecable service! Private dinner at the Rice Barn is a must have. Beautiful decorations, music, mouth watering dishes coupled with the surroundings of the lake and lanna made the dining a wonderful experience. No efforts was spared by the Chef and Didi the waitress who served us. It was an evening never to be forgotten. Our entire stay at Four Seasons Chiang Mai was just perfect. Thank you to all the service staff who by the way constantly have a smile; that made our holiday so enjoyable and memorable. "

Rachamankha Hotel (SHA Plus+)
Old City,Chiang Mai - View on map
"Although I travel a lot, the Rachamankha is easily the best hotel I have stayed at in Thailand, and perhaps anywhere. I lived in Thailand for over a year so am familiar with Thai service and food, but the Rachamankha topped any experience yet. The owner is apparently a Thai architect who has restored the building carefully, and who uses the hotel and the gallery to house part of his collection of Nothern Thai antiques. The care and attention is clear in the details throughout the cloistered courtyards and in each room. As an aside, the hotel is very well situated next to Wat Phra Singh and inside Chiang Mai's old town. The food at the restaurant is excellent - the Pad Thai is a contradication, being a peasant dish that tastes like a Michelin starred chef prepared it. The service is excellent - attentive, but unobtrusive - and the best I have had in Thailand. Yet it very reasonably priced, compared both to restaurants in Bangkok and in Chiang Mai (approx THB 220 for a main dish). I chanced upon the Rachamankha while trying to book a decent but not too expensive hotel for a weekend in Chiang Mai for the girlfriend. Having stayed at the Rachamankha I will be back to Chiang Mai just for the hotel."

Na Nirand Romantic Boutique Resort (SHA Extra Plus)
Chang Khlan,Chiang Mai - View on map
"It's really a wonderful experience in Na Nirand. We got free upgrade so as to be able to enjoy private pool. My boy was really excited about that. For that, my boy kept telling us he's missing the hotel until we got home. So we definitely would consider Na Nirand if we go to Chiang Mai next time. From the 1st day we checked in hotel to the last dat everything is excellent. If I have to name some cons I think the location is not as good as other hotels. As it's not in the old town. But who cares. Transportation is so cheap in Chiang Mai and tuk tuk is everywhere. Location is really not an issue even though you have children travelling together. "

Tamarind Village Hotel (SHA Extra Plus)
Old City,Chiang Mai - View on map
"Tamarind Village was highly recommended by friends, as was booking the Lanna Deluxe rooms for additional space and light. However, the twin bedded rooms are not much bigger than the regular Lanna rooms, book a double with King sized bed for up to 50% more space! I questioned the room sizes with the staff towards the end of my stay and could have chosen an alternate room if available. This was the first boutique hotel in Chiang Mai and so the character of the courtyards dictates the room sizes - ask ahead of booking or for the possibility of a change upon arrival if necessary. Altogether the experience of staying at Tamarind Village was a very positive one. The spa is very good and staff are very helpful. The space around the pool is narrow but this didn't seem to be a problem - there is so much to do in Chiang Mai and environs most people are out all day. The hotel is centrally located within the old city walls so there is lots to see within walking distance and the main shopping areas are not far away. The hotel is well known by taxis and tuk tuk drivers. We privately hired our airport taxi driver for 6 hours (800 baht) rather than use the hotel driver (1700 baht). The hotel staff were also very helpful with suggestions for restaurants and sourcing specific shopping items within the city which helped tremendously. We will stay again and relax more next time!"

Rati Lanna Riverside Spa Resort (SHA Extra Plus)
Chiang Mai Riverside,Chiang Mai - View on map
"This is an absolute gem in Chiang Mai. Before I made the decision to stay in Ratilanna I've been to the most 5 star hotels in Chiang Mai to compare. Ratilanna is stunning, great architecture, decor, beautiful lobby, business centre, spa, gym, wonderful pool, restaurants, Buddha statue. It is relatively a small hotel (75 rooms) but big enough to have all the facilities, the spa is amazing, the gym is huge and includes complimentary dry and steam sauna. The pool overlooks the river. The business centre is very private, the restaurants serve fabulous food. The hotel looks even prettier at night time with all the lights and candles, so romantic. The deluxe room at Ratilnna is really deluxe, huge bathoom with beautiful spa and shower almost for 2, huge bedroom, desk, little kitchenette, and balcony with nice sofa to relax. Ratilanna offers free shuttle bus to Night Bazaar every night but if you want to go earlier tuk-tuk cost about 80 bhat and takes 5 minutes. A great oasis to come back to after a busy day in the city. I've stayed there in total for a month!"

Anantara Chiang Mai Resort (SHA Plus+)
Chiang Mai Riverside,Chiang Mai - View on map
"Chedi Chiang Mai was a very positive experience for me. A friend of a friend recommended it and I became very well impressed. To start the staff exceeded my expectations from the moment I've stepped in the hotel. I let them know previously that I would be check in late and when I arrived they not only were waiting for me but also had upgraded my room to a more luxury version. Great present! Then, during my stay they did everything to help even with little things that can be time consuming such as booking transportation to Chiang Rai, cookery courses, etc, and were very keen to give recommendations regarding things to do in Chiang Mai. Additionally, the hotel is very well located, close to the night market and has a beautiful setting overlooking the river. It is very relaxing to have breakfast in their restaurant sitting under this beautiful tree while enjoying a view to the river. The pool is extremely refreshing specially after a very warm day visiting temples. If someday I return to Chiang Mai I would stay again in the Chedi."

Yaang Come Village Hotel (SHA Extra Plus)
Night Bazaar,Chiang Mai - View on map
"We have stayed in several hotels in Chiang Mai over recent years and this is by far the best experience. The buildings are of traditional design with lovely grounds, surrounded by very mature trees. It's easy to imagine that you are in a forest rather than in the middle of a city, a real oasis of calm. The rooms are splendid, with hand painted scenes on the walls. It had the biggest bathroom ever with a double ended bath and a huge walk-in shower too and a very comprehensive range of toiletries, even toothbrushes and mouth wash! The restaurant/bar is next to the pool, handy for snacks and drinks, and the evening menu offers a very wide choice of beautifully prepared and presented dishes which were such good value for money. All the staff were cheerful, friendly and helpful. I wish that we'd had longer to stay and would definately stay there again if I return to Chiang Mai. "

Veranda High Resort Chiang Mai - MGallery (SHA Plus+)
Hang Dong,Chiang Mai - View on map
"We had a short 3 days, 2 nights stay at this hotel. Its worth every penny based on rates on Agoda. The hotel is just like their website and the staff are all very friendly. Based on the rate we booked on Agoda, the staff told us at check in that the breakfast on the last day won't be included and we had to pay extra (it whould have been annoying if we needed the breakfast, but since we were leave on a 7AM flight so it didn't matter to us, but they should not discriminate because we paid a lower rate). The swimming pool is the best part of the hotel as well as the rooms themselves. We also enjoyed the free Yoga class in the morning. Overall, I would go back and stay at this hotel again when I am in Chiang Mai. I just hope due to the location, there are better transportation options that can be arranged by the hotel at reasonable prices."
