Great Location!”
The Richmond Hotel Asakusa is a fine hotel located in one of the most popular tourist areas of Tokyo. As with my previous experiences with Richmond properties, their staff is friendly and attentive. The rooms are clean and fairly spacious as far as Japanese hotels go (though still small compared to most North American hotels). The key to this hotel (and the sister Richmond Hotel Premier Asakusa International a few steps away) is the surrounding area. You are smack dab in the middle of Asakusa. Restaurants are everywhere! You will have a difficult time not finding a good place to eat. In fact, you'll have a harder time choosing where to go!

Great place to stay”
I really enjoyed staying at Richmond Hotel Asakusa. Even though the Ginza line and Asakusa line was little bit far (10mins by walk) from the hotel, but the room was very cozy and the all the staffs were really nice. While walking on the street you can enjoy the street market of Japan. They keep the room really clean and their amenities were convenient to use. Don Quixote was very close and there are quite number of izakaya to enjoy drink. I stayed alone but I felt safe all the time. Also I recommend to register their membership. With the point you have you can enjoy the breakfast meal. It was great choice to stay at here and I would like to visit here again :)

Great small hotel, comfortable room”
Richmond Asakusa is really a flawless hotel for the price. The lobby was very nice and bright, it has every facility to make your stay pleasant. The staff were very friendly, polite and spoke very good English. Wifi here was always fast and reliable. The room was a good size for Tokyo and the best part was the value for money. The only minor thing is that it is not that close to a metro station, I mean, it is close enough to walk 10 minutes which is not a problem, but when you are getting to the hotel with big and heavy luggage this will be a little bit of a challenge. Overall, a very lovely hotel in a local and authentic location, you will really feel like you are getting the real Japan experience by staying here.

Wonderful place; we've been before and would both recommend and return.”
The Richmond Hotel is a no-nonsense hotel. There are few flourishes. But it's a wonderful place--very efficient and helpful staff, great breakfast, comfortable rooms, perfect location. We had a view of the Senso-ji (temple) from our room. Senso-ji is the oldest temple in Tokyo, and not only is it beautiful but the whole surrounding area is one of the most beloved sites in Japan. There is joy there and a spirit of celebration. In a very old section of Tokyo, the Richmond hotel makes a sense of Japanese history and culture vivid and available.

Very nice room. Staff was excellent.”
We really enjoyed our stay at Richmond Hotel Asakusa. The staff was very friendly and they all spoke fairly good English, which was very helpful. The room was nice and clean, although slightly smaller than most hotel rooms in the US. The shower was awesome, best I have ever used in a hotel. The location was perfect for shopping and see the historical sites in Asakusa.

My favorite hotel of the trip”
My wife and I stayed 2 nights at Hotel Richmond and were very happy with it. The value for the money is the highest of any hotel we stayed in during our trip. The front desk staff all spoke english and were helpful. The location was incredibly convenient to Senso-ji temple (we walked through it many times). There are tons of cute restaurants in the area less than 3 minute walk away. This was our first trip to tokyo and really liked the slightly quieter feel of asakusa compared to Shibuya where we stayed later in the trip. If I get a chance to come back to Japan I will definitely stay there again.

Amazing location for Sensoji Temple.”
The Richmond in Asakusa is in such an amazing location...just a couple of minutes walk to the Sensoji temple complex and the array of gift shops and food stalls that lead to it. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was bigger than we imagined it would be. Fresh and clean. A great buffet breakfast is offered across European and Japanese styles to cater for the array of guests. I will stay here again. Not related to the hotel: Asakusa station doesn't have great access in terms of wheelchairs, strollers or large luggage...just flights of stairs. So take that into account if you can.

Excellent”
The Asakusa Richmond is a great home base for traveling within Tokyo. It's right next to Sensoji Temple for night viewing after the crowds of tourist leave, and among all the other restaurants is a convenient 7-11 just a few store fronts down. As for transportation, the Asakusa station (one of the three) is about 5 minutes walk. I found this hotel clean, friendly and helpful staff, and just a great location. Book this place if you see it available, cause it might not be while you're thinking about it.

Which area and hotel ?”
Where to stay in Tokyo is a hotly debated topic. having now visited other areas we were so glad we choose the Richmond in Asakusa the surrounding area was great to wander about. The room was spotless although we choose a smoking room since the wife vaped but the room stunk, would opt for non smoking next time (and get her to smoke outside). The breakfast was very good although oriental has you would expect but still plenty for a european. The staff were so kind and assisted in our travel plans. On checkout it poured down with rain and reception tried their best to get us a taxi but unfortunately none were available.

Very good experience”
This hotel is very well located in the heart of Asakusa and just 10 minutes walk from the transportation. A lot of good restaurants and souvenir shops are around the corner. The Senso-Ji (Asakusa Kannon Temple) is 2 minutes walk as well. Very convenient! The buffet breakfast is excellent, with various food and juices choices. The coffee and tea are good too. Try the raw tuna you won't be disappointed. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, always smiling and respectful! The room was super clean and big compared to what we've seen on other hotel suggestions, but don't bring big pieces of luggage. The bedding was comfortable and the view on Tokyo was beautiful! The great plus is the mobile phone provided during our stay. It was perfect with a lot of advice, Google Maps and things to do/see already registered into it, so no need to buy a sim card (a national phone number is also given). Just prepare your way to go to the hotel from the airport and that's it!

Great base to explore Tokyo: friendly, simple, good Japanese breakfast”
This was a last minute booking. The price was right & other reviews emphasised the extremely friendly staff and great (Japanese - not so great Western) breakfast. And the size & quality of the room was impressive (if you expect small hotel rooms in Tokyo - which you should!) Has all you could need & you are right in the middle of buzzy Asakusa, also a fin location for transport links to other great Tokyo locations

Excellent hotel for the price we paid”
We booked a double room for 2 nights only 2 days before arrival. It was not a busy time in Asakusa, early March, and we may have been lucky with the price and with the room. For the price of an APA business hotel room we got a decent sized double room with a bathroom that was smallish but not tiny. The staff were very friendly, the hotel was clean, everything worked (it's Japan after all) and the location was great for tourism in the Asakusa region, for taking river boat trips, and for food and souvenir shops. If you have a lot of luggage, you should know that it's 15-20 minutes walk to most of the Metro lines (Ginza etc), though the Tsukuba express line is very close (but didn't go anywhere we needed to go except Akihabara). You can take a bus from the Metro stations if you're brave, but a taxi should be no more than ¥800 unless traffic is very heavy.

Excellent value and location”
This is my second time staying at a Richmond Hotel in Tokyo, and the value and practicality of their hotels will keep me coming back. The Single room I received on the 6th floor was quiet, comfortable and clean, and offered a usable desk space for laptop work. Wifi speeds were mediocre but stable at around 10Mbit down/10Mbit up. Having a coin-operated laundry room was handy during my 8-night stay. They also offer nice bathroom amenities for free including a washcloth and razor. I only wish they had a fitness center.

Excellent hotel”
About five minutes walk from Asakusa metro station, where Asakusa line and Ginza line run through, and 2 minutes walk from Asakusa station where a local train line run through too. Very convenient location. Walking distance to Tokyo sky tree and Senso Ji. If you are into photography, you could go to Senso Ji late at night or early in the morning to get some great shots with much less people around. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby, you can find a supermarket close by too. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. The room is decent sized and the bathroom is spotless. Good value for money. Would recommend anyone travel to Tokyo to stay in this place.

Perfect for our needs!”
Can't say enough good about this hotel, its location, and staff. We were very pleased with the comfort and cleanliness of our room, which came with tons of nice amenities and a refrigerator, but best of all, was the fantastic view! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and we throughly enjoyed the breakfast, which was one of the best we've experienced in all of our travels. Staying in Asakusa turned out to be a great choice for us and we found getting around Tokyo by subway worked very easily from here, using either Asakusa Station or Tawaramachi Station, via the Ginza line. We stayed five nights and enjoyed every minute!

Nice hotel with friendly services”
the hotel is new & clean. it's very value for money considering how near it is to the well-koown temple in asakusa. when we walked pass the temple to go back to hotel at night, we couldn't believe how beautiful the temple is at night. we are lucky to stay at richmond asakusa, or else we would not imagine we will come to view the temple in the nigt time. it's also convinent to find dinner since there are many jpn restaurants near the hotel. the good thing is these rest. are not only catered for tourists but for local as well.

Exceptional”
Richmond Hotel surprise me in a quite positive way, the room was so nice that was difficult to check out :). The breakfast was very pleasant, meanwhile I was enjoying my food, was observing the old store opening and all the slow and smooth movement in a unique neighbourhood of Asakusa...

Clean, comfortable, reasonably priced”
In addition to being all of the above (clean, comfortable, reasonably priced), the hotel is placed nicely in Asakusa. Just outside the door is the Sensijo temple complex, many many casual restaurants. The surrounding streets are quite lively, with many izakaya and okonomiyako places, a place for gyoza (chicken, not pork) a couple of blocks away with great Japanese character, a 7-11, a supermarket (Don Quijote) and many other places. It's only two blocks to the Tsukuba Express train station, from which it is easy to reach Akihabara to go just about anywhere. Or you can walk about 5-10 minutes to the Asakusa Metro station, where you can catch the Ginza line among others. Asakusa is a fun, lively area, and unless you want to stay "downtown" in Marunouchi at one of the fancy hotels or in Shinjuku near many other businesses, this hotel is a great choice.

Good location - near tourist spot, restaurants, convenience stores”
The hotel is located smack in the middle of a tourist attraction + some nice izakaya restaurants so you'll really get to see a bustling Tokyo. The rooms are clean, the staff speak great English, and it's relatively near the subways. If I've to be fussy, Asakusa is not really Central so travelling to other parts of Tokyo takes longer. But for this price, it's a very good hotel.

Excellent service and breakfast, great atmosphere”
This is my first trip to Japan, and I am very glad that I chose to stay at Richmond Hotel The hotel staff has been very helpful, the rooms are well designed, clean, and considerably bigger than those hotels in other parts of the city; and their breakfast buffet is simply brilliant! it offers a nice variety of Japanese food and Western food as well. In overall, it offers good value at a reasonable price, I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Japan!
