Koselig in Chiang Mai”

Rustic River is a great value and immaculately presented boutique hotel located 2.5 km from Chiang Mai train station and within 10-15 minutes of the old town. Rooms are clean and comfortable, with air-conditioning and a large bathroom. Staff are very helpful, informative and friendly. Great choice of breakfasts on offer. Very difficult to find any downside to this great venue. I would definitely recommend to other travelers of all ages.

Nice stay in Chiang Mai”

Rustic Boutique Hotel is a great place to stay in Chiang Mai. The staff is really helpful and the room are really nice. Given the good reviews of the breakfast, I was expecting something amazing but the breakfast is good.

Great stay, wonderful staff, awesome breakfast!”

This little quaint botique hotel surpassed all our expectations. I stayed here with my mom and they definitely made our Chiang Mai experience a lot more memorable. The place in itself has a wonderful rustic atmosphere, as the name implies. The staff is also so helpful and pleasant, fixing up our tours and arranging whatever it is we wanted. The free breakfast they offer was also great, just the right amount of choices. The only thing that was a bit difficult was that you have to lug your luggage up flights of stairs to get to your room but it was well worth it. It's also found a little further away from the old city center which was fine with us since it made it a little less noisy and busy. But know that the distance was still very walkable. I highly recommend this place! Totally worth the price!

A truly intimate boutique hotel that has efficient and likeable staff”

My wife and I spent eight nights at this little hotel. We loved our room, it was well equipped with air-con plus a wall-mounted a fan, a very modern TV, fridge, and coffee and tea-making facilities, it was also quiet, comfortable, and quite quirky too with all the plain wood furnishings! The Reception area was equally uniquely small, as was the breakfast and lounge, which was the same place in truth. OK, it is a small place, but it all worked well, the use of wood throughout gave it a very warm feel. The young staff were really fantastic. They all spoke excellent English, were knowledgable about the city and the surrounding area, and were keen to offer suggestions on the markets and shops; they were also very interesting to talk to about Thai life in Chiang Mai in general. My wife and I also loved the location, set near to the the river, near to a bridge that gave access to the restaurants on the other side, near to a really huge market, and just 5 minutes walk from the old city.

Amazing Time!”

The staff was so helpful in every aspect, whether it was calling transportation. Cooking us breakfast, laundry service. You name it, they get it done. Wonderful girls. The living areas and the room were beautiful, the only thing I would caution are the mosquitos. There are many, and they will invade your room unless you keep both doors shut and locked (we were in room 2 on the first floor, the other may be different). Spray mosquito repellent under the door and in between the cracks to keep them out (-: thank you Rustic River, we will tell our friends!

Solo Trip to Chiang Mai”

The staff is wonderful and the owner (Nick) is terrific. The hotel is very clean. The hotel is close to the old city as well as the shopping district near the Ping River. I found it very easy (by bike) to get back to the “wall” and enter the Old City. I travel to Chiang Mai annually and this is definitely my hotel for my next trip.

Restful & Rustic ”

I had such a great stay at the Rustic River. It was so cozy and clearly cared about by the owner and staff (who are all so lovely and helpful). A great location too - easy to find all the local markets and night bazaar, and just a quite walk over the bridge to some riverside restaurants or into the old city for some long hours of wandering and eating. I definitely recommend this place for smaller groups, solo travellers or couples looking to have a quiet place to relax from the heat or even just want to drop your bags and go!

Charming Place”

A very pleasant stay in this delightful small hotel. The rooms were clean and fresh and the beds incredibly comfortable. A good choice of breakfast served in pleasant surroundings at the front of the hotel. The only downside is the road outside the hotel which, although not as busy as many in Chiang Mai, is just as polluted with diesel fumes. Obviously this isn't the fault of this lovely hotel!

Nice and Clean Hotel in Chiang Mai”

This hotel located near Chiang Mai Chinatown and Warorot Market, outside of the old town, about 10 minutes walk to Tapae Gate and Chiang Mai night market. This hotel suitable for guests who enjoy explore markets,chinatown,night market and local area but quite far from touristy area inside the old town. Hotel building was clean and comfortable, Thai wooden house typical. Both bedroom and bathroom are clean and quite spacious, and they also provide basic amenities, electric kettle,coffee. TV Channel are limited. Staff performance was friendly and polite, they also provide ala carte breakfast with about 10 choices menu, quite tasty. The only negative thing was there are lots of mosquitos both inside room and outside, maybe caused by summer season in Chiang Mai.

Wonderful Stay”

The staff are very warm and accommodating and the location is excellent! Short walk to China Town, the Old City and many wonderful markets. The rooms are comfortable and clean and breakfast was very good. Would definitely return to Ristic River of staying again Chiang Mai.

Rewards Explorers”

A fantastically run hotel - the staff are brilliant, adapting well to our slower paced adventures. Not going out - water and toilet roll are left for you, a courtesy which makes relaxing days in a real possiblity when they are needed. Breakfast is delicious - try the omelette. Rooms are well appointed in wood, with lots of space. Lockable cabinets are in place. Things to possibly add - a luggage stand (I hated have to use such a nice bed to put cases on) and a non-slip map/ tiles for the shower. But they are very minor and took nothing away from our enjoyment. One block north of the top of the market district, and two blocks north of the night market, this hotel rewards travellers who want to get out & get around - there are a lot of interesting shops, cafes, stalls etc immediately behind the hotel which are not visible from first sight. Walk along the river, easy; walk down to the night market easily. You are also well positioned to get to out of town activities, being away from the traffic of the inner city. This was a wonderful stay, and we would come back again.

Comfy and friendly ”

This place was clean, comfortable and rustic like the title. My girlfriend and I only anticipated staying one night, but after experiencing exceptional service, we opted to stay an additional 3 nights. Thx Rustic River staff!! You guys all rock!!!

No Sense of Balance”

I really don’t get it! On the surface this resort looks amazing. It’s rustic and cute, a great place for Instagram photos. The service is insanely good, the rooms look amazing, and the free breakfast was top rate. So what’s the problem? The noise! I mean really the noise from the road kept my wife and I up all night. It completely ruined what should have been a nice stay. We checked into a different hotel, which while not as nice, was at least quiet.

Nice hotel, well decorated, close to night market where they sell good food, lovely staff and good breakfast. We've booked in again for our return to Chiang Mai

Best Guest House in Chiang Mai”

Living near Chiang Mai for a year has given me a ton of opprotunity to try out different guest houses. This one is by far my favorite though. It's so cute with a Thai northern styled interior. Plus the breakfast is awesome and the staff is so so nice!!

Great hotel just East of the Old City”

Great hotel if you don't mind walking 10-15 minutes east of the Old City. The name lives up to the "rustic" look. Very wonderful caring staff, good but simple breakfast, very clean. Would stay again.

Great ”

Perfect as always. I have been stayed with Rustic team since they opened the Rustic guest house few years before. It's always one of the best guesthouse to stay if you come to Chiangmai. It will definitely make you love Chiangmai and Nick's team.

Clean and excellent room”

its really a rustic kind of hotel. nice decor from outside. breakfast is good.hot shower is great. check-in was easy and staff are friendly too. will return here again
