Excellent”

I stayed 4 nights at Sumittya Chiangmai Hotel in mid Nov, 2018. This hotel is located at the Old City which is only 5-minute walk from the Sunday Walking street and the oldest Chiangmai temple, Wat Chiangmun. Although the room is not spacious, but it is clean and tidy. Varieties of food of the breakfast is less but the food is pretty delicious. The staff at the reception counter were very nice and helpful, especially Jar this lady. She gave us many good information about sightseeing in the Old City and introduced "Grab" this app (kinda app alike Uber). We could get to our wanted place easily by using this app. Apart from this, Jar also helped us to search the spa facilities and even made a phone call booking. Despite the helpfulness, the staff of Sumittaya Hotel are very efficient. There was a blockage at the water basin of our room, we informed the reception about it, the reception called the housekeeper to check it at once and fixed it soon.

A place valueable for money”

It is true that Sumittaya may not be very near to certain must-visit places of interest inside the "canels", it is worth your money, especially those who enjoy stretching their legs a little bit. This is not to mention while all kinds of bas and pubs are a few blocks away, where the hotel is located is quiet which is certaninly good after a night of fun. If anything to complain, the breakfast is boring... really it is...

Great location - super friendly and helpful staff - highly recommend”

This hotel is one of the bigger ones so it the taxis and songkrans were able to locate it very easily. great location within the old city and the facilities were clean. The breakfast ends at 10am every day and they try to switch it up for us so even though it was simple, I enjoyed it for the price I paid. But my favourite thing about this hotel is the STAFF. They were AMAZING. 5 star service, super friendly, helpful and informative. Thank you so much and I enjoyed my 5 days stay at Summittaya very much.

Hotel with good location”

Pros. Location within walking distance to all important temples within old city & to Sunday night market. 7 eleven store close by. Strong wifi, room size adequate. Very helpful & pleasing staff attitude. Complimentary breakfast. Cons. Shower enclosure very small & wash room too was comparitively smaller. Out of our stay of 3 nights, the hotel did not provide butter chicklets on 2 days for breakfast citing lack of supply. Limited vegetarian option.

We stayed 3 nights at the hotel, located within the Old City, new hotel, cozy and clean! The service was excellent from everyone!! :) They prepared a packed breakfast for us on the day we did a sunrise tour. The hotel provides a luggage storage service when we went on a 3 day trip, although we were afraid to leave our thing, they were great and the suitcases were waiting for us to return :) Very highly recommended!!!!! Thank you for a lovely stay, courteous professional service and always with a smile :)

Great location and nice clean smart hotel”

Close to all the historic center of Chiang Mai. clean modern hotel with decent sized room. The room for improvement would be the breakfast as it was a little disappointing but did the job!

2 night stay in June 18”

Nice , new built hotel in the inner city . Walking distance to most sights , Sunday night market , temples etc. Very clean rooms , friendly staff especially Jar. Quiet and no real riadnoice etc. The taxi driver found it hard to find perhaps because it was so new. The breakfast was a bit limited but completely adequate for the price paid. Would stay again.

So clean, so helpful! they went above and beyond to help my boyfriend to plan a romantic engagement for us. Breakfast was decent and they really help you with booking the excursions. We would definitely stay here if we end up in Chiang Mai again.

Exceptional”

Convienent location in Old City. Short walk to Sunday Night Market. Near bar scene, but noise stops at midnight. Continental breakfast with food options changing daily. Free cold tea available on return to hotel daily. Front desk staff are very friendly and accommodating.

New hotel in a great location ”

The hotel is new and its in the middle of Old City and the price is unbeatable. The staff is very friendly and does everything to help you.

Decent stay at a convenient location”

The hotel is located at a good location where you can easily find a local market, convenience store, cheap massage parlours, cafes, bars, and food. Basically anything you'll need is nearby. Tourist attractions are also located at walkable distance or a short ride away. Rooms are not very big but good enough for 2. We booked 2 rooms for 4 adults. One of the room smelled bad, but the other room was fine. The room that smelled bad has a really slow draining system so i guess it could be the reason of the smell. One thing I'd like to highlight is the sides of the bed. All of us knocked and scratched our legs against the edges, and we thought it was quite dangerous. Maybe putting a silicon protector over it would be good. They have a decent breakfast and also very friendly service. I'd definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for a cheap but decent stay.

Would be a Good Hotel, Except...”

...for the noise! The hotel is located on the same block with some clubs/discos/bars that are apparently competing for who can play their music the loudest. The music is loud enough to vibrate the windows, walls, and bed and not in a good way. Fortunately, the noise stops at about midnight. Otherwise, the hotel is a good value for the budget traveler with clean comfortable rooms, friendly staff, wi-fi, and an above average complimentary breakfast. If getting up early or getting a good night sleep is a priority, I would skip this place and consider a hotel in northwest Chiang Mai.

Clean but Noisy”

The Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean. But the bed is not so comfortable and the sound proof from a room to a room is bad. We can hear people talking from the room next door. Overall is OK to stay and worth the price.

New building, friendly staff, value for money”

This is a new built hotel with totally new facilities. Everything is convenient & nice. The staff is also very friendly. The breakfast is simple but well-organized & good. The building is located in the old town, just take you some a while to walk to many interesting places around, but it is bit dark at night.

Great Location New Hotel”

Great location and very new hotel with super clean facilities. Friendly staff. Didn’t try the breakfast but it needed to be booked the day before by 1800. No ideal but may have been related to low occupancy - would check on this when you stay.

In old city, close to major attraction.”

In the central area of old city, and close to many attraction location. The service also was great. All the staff helped a lot. And it was best to what i had paid for. Love the place.

Very good hotel ”

We stayed for 4 nights in this hotel and everything was amazing. Staff was very friendly, accommodating and helpful. Rooms were clean, excelente WiFi and AC. Breakfast was good, it’s buffet, but it was never ready at 6:30 like it as supposed to, even one day we went to have breakfast at 7:00 and it also wasn’t ready. Also, they only have sunny side up eggs and we asked for scrambled eggs but they said it wasn’t posible which was pretty annoying.

NEW & Clean hotel”

Stayed at 3 different hotel and this was the best among all. Location is inside old city, near to Sunday night market. very clean and nice hotel as it was newly built. just that the bed is really really hard. they should put a mattress topper on top so that it wont be so hard and difficult to sleep.

New hotel, central location, confortable clean room with all you might need, fridge, hairdrier etc.”

Unbeatable at its price, all new and clean in excellent location, rooms at the back very quiet. The staff at the reception very gentle and prompt, breakfast too was much better than expected even western style with hot dishes and fruits, towels and room cleaning every day. We slept there for six nights in maximum comfort.

Good and clean but a bit noisy”

The hotel in general is clean and well maintained. The furnishing is alright though a little old school. Note that this is located very near to the bar area which means that you get to hear the thumping bass until midnight.
