Wonderful bedrooms”

We really enjoyed staying in Thai Akara - Lanna Boutique Hotel. It's very convenient to visit the different sites in the Old City. Every day we went out for different events, when we came back to the hotel, we felt like being home. Nice, clean, spatial and warm bedrooms made our trip in Chiang Mai even more joyful and relaxing.

Top notch hotel”

Do not hesitate to book this hotel! I have expensive five star taste but at the same time, love a great deal. We stayed at Thai Akara for six nights and could have easily stayed another six! It is located in a central part of Old Chiang Mai and was convenient to all sights. It is tucked away from the street so it’s quiet and peaceful. I can’t say enough about this hotel and the staff. They were extremely attentive and strived to make our stay a memorable one. The daily (free!) breakfast was excellent and full of variety. Love that we didn’t have to think about where we would eat; it saved us time and money! Book it now! You won’t regret it at all! Remember, I’ve got very expensive taste and high expectations and this place hit the nail on the head!

This boutique hotel is really a hidden gem! Wow, we were impressed with the accommodations, friendliness of the staff, and yummy breakfast. I will definitely be staying here the next time I'm in Chiang Mai. If I could give it 10 stars in each category I would. The pictures do not do this beautiful site justice. I was a bit skeptical booking online. However, Thai Akara greatly exceeded my expectations. What a delight! Stay here and walk to various places. It's absolutely fantastic.

Beautiful and Peaceful”

My stay at the Thai Akara was a restful interlude made possible by an incredible 70% sale. I would never have been able to afford the regular prices but this opportunity was too great to miss. And it delivered! The Thai Akara is right in the center of the Old City yet it was quiet and serene. I could hear the birds throughout the day and had little sense of the neighbors. The room was beautifully appointed and the complimentary breakfast delicious and filling. Little jaunts out into the neighborhood by foot in the evening were a perfect to enjoy the city setting without being affected by the city hustle and bustle.

Unique experience, Good location and Clean rooms”

Our family of 5 went to Chiang Mai to celebrate my father's birthday and we stayed at Thai Akara for 4 nights. Every staff was so nice and attentive, especially the lady staff who manages the hotel restaurant. The front desk staff were very helpful if you'd need to book cars/restaurants. We felt welcomed from the moment we checked in till they waved us goodbye. Will definitely stay at Thai Akara again.

Fabulous hotel in great location”

We absolutely loved the Thai Akara hotel. It is a small boutique hotel with beautiful grounds. A lovely heated pool and a gym. Our room was perfect with a nice balcony and lots of space. The staff were so attentive and we can’t fault anything. The breakfast was also lovely and well worth having. The location in old town is incredibly central. Highly recommend.

Nice boutique hotel”

One of the many nice boutique hotels in Chiang Mai. Inside the old city so easy stroll to Sunday Market, and plenty of taxis or tuk tuks just steps down the lane. Quiet, tucked just up a side street. Stayed there 3 nights this trip, as a "base" for side trips. Friendly staff remembered us each time and made us feel at home. Nice pool, large rooms and super bathrooms. Breakfast is really superb, nice mix of Thai, Western , and fruit and continental.

Travel with old parents”

We've stayed at the triple bed room for 2 nights and room was big enough for 3 adult staying. Small swimming pool but well managed. Breakfast was perfect we could order vegetarian meal each morning and also can use small buffet as well. Staffs were kind and always smile. It was pleasant staying at the Thai Akara-Lanna. I highly recommend.

elegant, quiet, low-key”

a great little hotel, tucked away in an alley of the Chiang Mai Old City. two very nice -- if a little small -- pools in the hotel, perfect place to spend a relaxing afternoon or morning. don't plan on having cocktails by the pool tho -- hotel doesn't have a liquor license. rooms are spacious, spotless, and very pleasant. well-appointed and quiet, with balconies either overlooking or opening directly onto the pools. walking distance to lots of interesting temples, shops, and more restaurants than you can count. 50 meters from the hotel is a motorbike rental place, fully kitted out and traveler-friendly. you are also a two minute walk to two very good coffee shops, and to at least three very traveler-friendly restaurants. if you're willing to walk another 100 meters, you'll find a dozen restaurants and bars catering to pretty well any taste or price-point.

We loved every aspect of this hotel. It has a truly boutique feel, with well appointed and charming rooms, friendly & efficient staff, lovely pool, and excellent location for getting around. Highly recommended, and we would definitely return here, if we find ourselves back in this part of the world. Well done to everyone at the Thai Akara.

Very pleasant stay with friendly and helpful staffs!”

Stylish modern hotel. Very spacious even with 3 single beds in a room. Great location with easy access to anywhere, esp it's walking distance to the Sunday market. The pool is so tiny but it's ok. Breakfast variety is limited but amazing quality and taste! Very friendly and helpful staffs. My friend and I had an early flight and needed to check-out early in the morning, can't believe the staffs offered us a take-away breakfast box free of charge! 4-star hotel but they do provide more than 5-star hotel service. Very impressed! And do highly recommended Thai Akara!!!

Amazing amazing amazing!!!”

This boutique hotel is located at the old city of Chiang Mai, where there are many restaurants and pubs to visit and clubs to dance. The hotel rooms are designed for couples. The best thing in this hotel is the staff, Monica is amazing and hosted us as if we were visiting her own home.

Impeccable ”

Very pleasantly surprised by Thai Akara. A beautiful property with large rooms, all with balconies and impeccably clean. Very quiet and relaxed. Staff will go out of their way to accommodate you. Location wise-within walking distance from a number of restaurants, cafes and the Sunday night street market (definitely worth a visit). The pool offers great relief from Chiang Mai’s hot afternoons. Highly recommended.

Epic Design”

Thai Akara is located in the neighborhood of the famous Zoe in Yellow bar, so it would be easy for the driver to find the hotel. There is also a cafe next door which is one of the best in town. I really appreciate the work of hotel staffs who were extremely attentive and helpful. The hotel building was designed gorgeously like a palace. The room was spacious with high ceiling, also designed nicely. Breakfast was decent in which my favorite is the pumpkin soup. The water in swimming pool was frizzing cold in Jan.

Fabulous hotel, very clean and a real Haven in the middle of busy Chiang Mai ”

Would absolutely come back. Great place to relax and unwind generally, or after a busy day seeing the amazing sights of Chiang Mai. Swimming pool absolutely gorgeous. Location superb - so close to everything you would want to see and do in the old city. Cons: gym equipment very limited - needs heavier weights (heaviest was 6kg dumbbell!?) and a simple flat/adjustable bench to increase range of exercises and workouts achievable in the small space. Limited number of sun beds around the pool for the number of rooms, although the central courtyard is only quite small. All achievable and minor changes to make this hotel truly great.

Really surprised my the hotel when we arrived. It looked exactly like the photos. The staff was friendly and helpful during our stay. The mini bar was complimentary as well but don't expect alcohol to be provided.... Good selection of breakfast too. A beautiful building structure out of nowhere. The only thing I'd point out was, the entrance of the hotel isn't very visible from the road. But all in all my friends enjoyed our stay in Thai Akara.

Fantastic location”

Intimate resort in the heart of old Chiang Mai. Rooms were a good size but lacked hanging/wardrobe storage. The staff were friendly and attentive.. Thai Akara is a lovely place to stay, two pools and breakfast included make it good value for money.

Very nice Boutique Hotel in the Centre of the Old Town”

Our first time at the Thai Akara and everything worked very well. We had a few small requests ahead of our stay and the hotel staff had taken care of all of them by the time we arrived, which was great. The room was nice, clean and modern and the bathroom was a good size. Breakfast was very nice, a good mix of Asian and European fare. Everything was always fresh. We had a very good time and will be happy to stay in the same hotel next time we are back.

Perfection! Not suited for "loud" guests or children”

Location - 5 stars. Coffee shops, temples, food, night life - all of it. AWESOME! Property - 5 stars. Incredible and very special - boutique. Given its size - would not suggest this property for family with active (loud) kids. Sound carries within the property (although you do not hear street / area noise). Breakfast was really great and a perfect way to start your day. Staff - 4 stars. It was difficult to communicate at times as repeatedly asked for a guide and ended up with a driver that didn't know much about the temple we went to. Walk to Chiang Mai Tour Center - a total gem and will make all the difference in your experience of Chiang Mai / surrounding area.

Exceptional”

Fantastic spot in the heart of Chiang Mai. The room is incredible, with Thai Lanna sophisticated style you really have all the peace you need. Great staff I will come back for sure!
