“Great budget hotel by the river”
At first I was skeptical since there are quite a lot of negative reviews on google, however the price was such a catch for last minute booking and I ended up booking it just a day before my stay. I am very glad I took the chance as I enjoyed the stay so much. The hotel is located in such a great location by the river, and the view from the room is impeccable. You could reach the famous Jonker Street, Red Church, and a lot of museums by walking around 10 minutes. Worry not, the route is absolutely scenic, and it's always a nice time to stroll by the river to go to the city centre, you won't feel it long. I stayed for 4 days and 3 nights, there's a security deposit for 50 RM per stay and heritage tax for 4 RM per night, they only accept cash payment for both, so ensure you have your cash with you. Front desk staffs are very kind and helpful, fluent in Malay and English. You could keep your luggage at the front desk before check-in time or after you check-out should you want to travel without worrying about your belongings. The room I stayed at was a king-sized bedroom, it's spacious, clean and tidy, the decor is a bit old, but that's no big deal for me. The bathroom attached is also well kept and clean. However there were no amenities and hairdryer (luckily amenities kit could be bought from nearby convenience store). During my stay I also didn't find the card for housekeeping, so I assume there's no housekeeping as well. Overall I am very pleased with my stay, thank you for the great experience, would recommend for solo travellers or group of friends.
